The purpose of this dissertation is the architectural project of the ambulatory complex of the Federal University of Pará in Belém. It is a health care establishment whose focus is sustainability, energy efficiency and humanization. This design went through the application of architectural concepts, the study of references (theorical and empirical ones), planning, examining the terrain and its conditions and the preliminay design and resulted in a preliminary architecture blueprint. The empirical research is based on the main building of the Hospital Universitário João de Barros Barreto in Belém, Hospital Sarah Kubitschek of Fortaleza (Architect João Filgueiras de Lima - Lelé) and Hospital e Maternity São Luiz of São Paulo (Architect Siegbert Zanettini). Part of the planning is based on the method "Problem Seeking of Pena and Parshal (2001)". During the development process I sought to incorporate sustainability criterias, energy efficiency and humanization. In relation to sustainability the dissertation focuses on the utilization of rainwater for non-potable usage

The urban expansion problem of Baía Formosa, a southern edge city of de Rio Grande do Norte eastern coast, which has been presented in other coast Brazilian towns, specially on those with tourist activities increase. Therefore, this situation brings huge concerns to their inhabitants, to their technical /scientific community and to the governments, because of the conflicts of interest and of the growth of urban problems that this has been created. At Baía Formosa, the situation is aggravated because the city is confined, once around it, there are large private proprieties, environmental preservation area and the sea, at the eastern edge. The objectives of this study are the analyses of this city expansion process in order to obtain adequate alternatives and defining methodology to apply in other urban nucleus that are subjected to similar situations. Of course, presents social relations, environmental conditions and promoting local population insertion should be considered in order that enjoin this process and contributing to a better social balance. This case study has used bibliography research, field data, maps and soil occupation recorders and photographs of the area, besides the primary data gathering by surveys carried out with many social actors. The present analysis shows that the urban expansion observed today is featured by a recent unsustainable model, which attacks the environment and brings either farm conflicts. On the other hand, the ecological tourism can represent an alternative in order to achieve an adequate expansion form, without forgetting the several structural parameters necessary to support the sustainable activities

The urban mobility has in the bicycle its symbol of the most environmentally sustainable modal of transportation of the planet, title conferred by the United Nations Organization (ONU). Nevertheless, the cities suffer with the traffic jam caused by the automobile fleet growth, what implies in a larger displacement time, injuries to the environment, to financials and to the quality of life. In order to build in a sustainable way the urban mobility, public policies are necessary to encourage the preferential usage, by the society, of the mass transit or the non-motorized type of transportation. Objecting cooperate with the public power and the civil society, this study intents to, through an analysis about the UFPR Extension Program - CICLOVIDA, propose a sustainable urban mobility public policy development, with emphasis in the bicycle´s usage. eferentially, it is discussed concepts such as Society, State and Government as well as public policies, which go in cycles to the State´s and Government´s responsibilities; and are presented the Sustainable Urban Mobility Public Policies (PPMUS) in Brazil. Also, it is debated about the transport by bicycle as an option to the sustainable mobility. Methodologically, the study is of an empiric-social nature, with the application of both qualitative and observational methods, what characterizes as an exploratory level of research, with the researcher´s involvement in the participant form, due to her acting on the Program. Regarding the research lineation, it was used the bibliographic and documental form as well as case study, by means of the nonparametric sampling by accessibility or convenience. Related to the data collection technique, it was used structured interviews with self-applied questionnaires and natural participant observation. Aligned with the research´s objective and matter, the outcome confirmed that the Extension Program CICLOVIDA of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) may effectively contribute in the development of a PPMUS proposal with emphasis in the bicycle usage. Thus, it was built a political proposal with a free form writing, objecting subsidize policies both institutional as public MUS through the bicycle usage and therefore, support the mobility, also contributing to the sustainability and to the public development planning.

The search for a sustainable urban mobility, has recast the public policy of transport and movement for all, in order to contribute to the welfare economic, social and environmental. Within this context, has as its main objective review here in the city of Natal in the state of Rio Grande Norte, the deployment of the new road infrastructure of the transport corridor of Bernardo Vieira Avenue and checking at least with regard to urban areas and environmental chosen here, as will indicators to assess sustainable urban mobility, that the theory has been well constructed, but in practice little way to apply the proposed guidelines for sustainability. To achieve this result, is initially a literature review with the principal investigators of the matter, since the concepts of indicators of sustainable urban mobility. And a second time, participating in to the case study, using the methodology of environmental awareness, through analysis photographs, notes and testimony in the study area ace to reach conclusions

Standardization and sustainability: these two apparently antagonistic words find the challenge of uniting in a flexible architectonic proposal. This was the idea that motivated the proposal of this assignment, whose appearing is bound up with the necessity of thinking about standardized spaces that attend on functional criterias and environmental sustainability, in reply to an existing real demand. The assignment consists of an architectonic proposal for a flexible standard of a Basic Unit of Health for the bioclimatic zone 7 of RN (UBS RN-7), with emphasis in the environmental sustainability. The project contemplates innumerable involved variables, such as: obedience to the current law of the Health Ministry for the UBSs; formal/aesthetic aspects; criterias of expansiveness of the UBS I for the UBS II; relative aspects to the constructive rationality and, mainly, sustainability aspects. With the intention to unite the variables and, also, glimpsing a proposal that could reach a good functional performance, aesthetic, of environment comfort and energetic efficiency, it was also necessary to consider concepts about the flexibility of the envelopment. The elaboration of the architecture first draft was based on bibliographical research, conceptual studies and references, elaboration of the architectonic program and the draft development for the UBS port I and the UBS port II. To the end, an implantation data sheet for the project is proposed for the UBS standard project, where strategies of thermal isolation, shadowing and thermal inertia are adopted and combined to three possible types of lot, resulting in 24 possibilities of implantation

Cada vez mais as cidades e as áreas metropolitanas e comunidades adjacentes refletem áreas de agricultura de distintas tipologias. O Programa de Desenvolvimento das Nações Unidas estima que 15% dos alimentos em todo o mundo são cultivados em cidades havendo países onde a agricultura urbana é um meio de contornar a escassez de alimentos e outros onde é uma forma de rendimento e subsistência. Esta importância da agricultura no espaço urbano tem vindo a ser consolidada dentro dos domínios originais a que acresceram outros, um reforço que coloca em evidência a multifuncionalidade característica à paisagem e, consequentemente, a sua transdisciplinaridade. Expressa-o o facto de, no passado, essa componente agrícola em espaço urbano ter estado intrinsecamente ligada aos domínios sociais e económicos e de, no presente, se encontrar ainda relacionada com os domínios ecológicos e pedagógicos. O presente artigo explora o papel da agricultura urbana numa abordagem transdisciplinar, centrada nos seus benefícios para os utilizadores e para a sociedade e nos desafios encontrados pelos agricultores urbanos e tomadores de decisão municipais envolvidos. O objetivo é o de fazer uma revisão de literatura procurando identificar as tendências atuais, esforços e lacunas na pesquisa dos impactos da agricultura urbana em distintos contextos e escalas.

As cidades médias brasileiras apresentam potencialidade para investimentos. Isto implica no surgimento de novas demandas e na necessidade do fortalecimento da gestão municipal. O lento avanço das políticas públicas urbanas para promover ordenamento urbano sustentável é preocupante. Entre os problemas encontrados nos grandes centros urbanos e já verificados nas cidades médias está a situação do sistema de transporte urbano. Este apresenta uma matriz de deslocamento não sustentável. O presente trabalho tem por escopos apresentar as diretrizes da Política Nacional de Mobilidade Urbana (PNMU) e diagnosticar a mobilidade de pedestres, ciclistas e usuários do transporte público da cidade de Araguari e sua forma de organização. A metodologia a ser utilizada consiste em pesquisa bibliográfica referente às temáticas da urbanização, planejamento e mobilidade urbana. Será realizado levantamento de dados primários e secundários, além do apontamento das características a serem exploradas e das fragilidades a serem combatidas através de um processo de gestão.
Estudio sobre comercialización y consumo de carne de pollo en la zona urbana del municipio de Masaya

El presente trabajo se realizó en la zona urbana del Municipio de Masaya, entre los meses de Agosto y Noviembre de 1998, con el objetivo de caracterizar los canales de comercialización de la carne de pollo, así como también los factores que afecten el consumo de , El estudio se basó en el análisis de 148 encuestas sobre consumo de carne de pollo, realizadas a la población consumidora así como también entrevistas semi estructuradas a agentes la cadena de intermediación. Se utilizó el método de mínimos cuadrados para analizar el efecto sobre el consumo de carne de pollo de las variables propio precio, precio de sustitutos y el ingreso percapita. Además se realizó el cálculo de las respectivas elasticidades. Para el análisis se utilizó una serie de tiempo que comprende el periodo 1992-1998. Los productos avícolas se venden en 3 presentaciones: pollo de engorde (entero congelado y cortado en pieza), ponedoras de descarte y gallinas de patio. La oferta de pollo de engorde obedece un mercado oligopólico con características de monopolio, con un sistema de comercialización centralizado. El margen bruto de comercialización de la carne de pollo de engorde varía de acuerdo al tipo de presentación oscilando entre el 29 - 30 % del valor pagado por el consumidor. Así mismo el margen bruto de comercialización para las ponedoras de descarte oscila entre 18- 22%. Los precios de la carne de pollo varían de acuerdo a la forma en que se presente la canal y al tipo de establecimiento donde se oferta dicho producto (1O -12 córdobas por libra). Con respecto a otros tipos de carne, el pollo presenta un precio relativo menor. El consumo per cápita en la zona es de 28 libras por persona por año; siendo mayor ellos estratos de ingreso más alto, pero se consume aún en los estratos de ingresos más bajos. El incremento del precio del pollo tiende a reducir la demanda. Las preferencias del consumidor son hacia un pollo con poco contenido de grasa y de textura blanda pero no flácida. El 85% de la población consume pollo de engorde principalmente en la presentación de pollo cortado en pieza. La elasticidad precio resultó altamente elástica siendo esta de 2.72. La elasticidad cruzada de cante de pollo con carne de res resultó de 0.84 la cual demuestra que la carne de pollo alcanza ser un sustituto de la carne de res, así mismo la elasticidad ingreso es de -1.33 lo que indica que el pollo es un bien normal básico.

El presente estudio fue realizado en el municipio San Dionisio, departamento de Matagalpa, Nicaragua, con el objetivo de conocer el impacto que ha tenido la Organización para el Desarrollo Económico y Social para el Área Urbana y Rural (ODESAR), en la mejoría de las condiciones de vida de las familias participantes en un proyecto que desarrolló en 5 comunidades en el periodo 2000 – 2006. En el estudio se definieron tres variables: Asistencia Técnica y Capacitación, Ingresos productivos, uso y manejo de los desechos orgánicos y lecciones aprendidas. El análisis de la información recopilada muestra que el componente productivo que desarrolló ODESAR con el proyecto, tuvo un impacto determinante en las familias beneficiadas, en mejorar sus condiciones de vida. En el análisis de los resultados de ingresos productivos, todos los productores reportan incrementos en el 2006 con relación al año 2000; Corozo por ejemplo, incrementó en casi 5 veces más sus ingresos y Wibuse en más de 4 veces. De igual manera el 87% de los productores mejoraron el acceso a los alimentos y el El 72% de los productores mejoraron el manejo de los desechos orgánicos. En el tema de lecciones aprendidas, los productores opinan que lo importante de sus aprendizajes es el rescate de los valores como la solidaridad, que les ha permitido avanzar en la diversificación de las parcelas, enfatizan en el aprovechamiento de la tierra para producir alimentos, vender los excedentes para poder comprar los productos que no se producen en sus fincas, de esta manera alcanzan un mejor bienestar de la familia.

Resumen: El objetivo de este estudio es el de examinar las fuentes históricas que permitan conocer, además de la composición poblacional y la estructura ocupacional, las causas de enfermedad y muerte, que reflejen algunas alternativas del desenvolvimiento de la comunidad rosarina, de la vida corriente del habitante de la ciudad, en las primeras décadas del siglo XX, momento en que se inicia aquí el proceso denominado de transición demográfica.
