Existente desde os Jogos Olímpicos da Grécia Antiga, as corridas de velocidade ocupam espaço de destaque dentre as provas do atletismo. Em particular, os 100 metros rasos masculino é a prova cujas particularidades merecem ser investigadas, sobretudo em função das inúmeras alterações ocorridas ao longo dos anos. Por exemplo, a princípio, a corrida de velocidade era disputada nos Jogos Olímpicos da Grécia Antiga, com o nome de stádion ou dromo e com um percurso de 192,27 metros. Com a decadência e a extinção dos Jogos Olímpicos, a corrida de velocidade deixou de ser disputada, retornando em 1896, com o renascimento dos Jogos Olímpicos da Era Moderna. Entretanto, dentre as modificações nas provas do atletismo, as corridas de velocidade passaram a ser de 100 e 400 metros rasos, o bloco de partida passou a ser obrigatório etc. O objetivo desta pesquisa consiste em averiguar as principais modificações ocorridas na prova dos 100 metros rasos masculino, desde a sua origem até os dias atuais. Esta pesquisa, de caráter histórico-bibliográfico, tem a finalidade de resgatar a história da prova dos 100 metros rasos com base na história dos Jogos Olímpicos, verificando as alterações em suas regras básicas, em sua composição e técnicas específicas, a fim de reunir subsídios para o seu ensino em aulas de Educação Física. Com esta pesquisa, esperamos contribuir não apenas com o resgate da história desta ocorridas na prova dos 100 metros rasos masculino, desde a sua origem até os dias atuais. Dezesseis atletas treinados em musculação (grupo AN = 7) ou em corridas de longa distância (AE = 9) foram submetidos a exercícios de máxima intensidade específicos e inespecíficos a sua modalidade de treinamento. A influência da especificidade do treinamento sobre as alterações promovidas por sessões agudas de exercício exaustivo nos parâmetros hemodinâmicos, de dano muscular e de estresse oxidativo foi analisada, e foram comparados os padrões de resposta aos exercícios entre os dois grupos. Os testes máximos consistiram de teste exaustivo em esteira, utilizando protocolo de rampa, e teste com pesos utilizando cargas iniciais de 80% de 1RM, progressivamente reduzidas, até a exaustão, em dois exercícios que abrangeram grupos musculares distintos. Foram realizadas coletas de sangue antes e imediatamente após os exercícios para a determinação de indicadores de hemoconcentração, de lesão muscular, de processo inflamatório e determinação de parâmetros hemogasimétricos. A glicemia se elevou significativamente após os testes somente para o grupo AE. Foram verificados aumentos significativos na acidose devidos a elevação das concentrações de lactato, H+ combinados a redução do HCO3-. Foram observadas variações significativas nas concentrações dos íons sódio e potássio. Também houveram aumentos significativos nas concentrações de CPK e DHL. Além disso, houveram elevações das concentrações plasmáticas e dos leucócitos. Dentro dos parâmetros analisados, as respostas observadas não foram uniformes em comparação aos dois grupos, e houve variação também interna aos grupos, quando comparados os exercícios específicos aos inespecíficos. Among the flow, the flows have the highest destructive potential, may cause disasters with a very high number of victims, as recorded in the events Caraguatatuba (SP) and the Serra das Araras (RJ) in 1967; Valeu do Rio Figueira, in Timbé do Sul (SC) between 1995 and 1996; Vale do Itajaí in Santa Catarina, in 2008, Teresópolis, Petrópolis and Nova Friburgo (RJ), in December 2010 and January 2011. This project aimed to prioritize the main determinants of inducing processes of debris flows by applying the method of decision making AHP (Analytical Hierarch Process). Therefore, the following stages of work were defined: research of the major factors of debris flows, questionnaire design method for application of AHP expert on the subject, analysis of the results obtained from calculating the ratio of consistency and preparation of proposal for hierarchical of conditions for debris flows. From the surveys it was possible to establish a relationship of conditions according to the scale of work, defining three levels: regional (1:250,000 to 1:100,000), Semi-Detail (1:50,000 to 1:25,000) and Detail (1: 10,000 or higher). The factors found were: concentration time, the flood wave, rain, landslide susceptibility (slope), drainage and development in the deposition. The project analyzed the results obtained from the questionnaires, which allowed the ranking of the constraints, contributing to weight constraints in studies of multicriteria mapping of susceptibility to the occurrence of debris flows. In order to reduce the sedentarism and to improve population's health condition, many physical activity incentive programs have been stimulated. As a result, many people have adhered to street racing, but their health condition is almost always ignored. The aim of this study was to evaluate street racers' health condition, identifying the presence of cardiovascular risk factors as well as problems associated to street racing. The study case was composed by 111 racers from the town of Bauru (94 men and 17 women) aged in average 39±13 years old, who were evaluated in 4 street race competitions. The subjects answered to an anamnesis with questions about their socioeconomic status, medicine use, cardiovascular risk, physical exercise practices, and issues related to racing and injury. Weight (kg) and height (m) were measured to calculate the body mass index (BMI, kg/m²) as well as systolic and diastolic blood pressure (BP), heart rate (HR), abdominal circumference (AC), and flexibility. It could be observed that the majority of racers were Caucasian, married and belonged to social classes over C. The prevalent age was between 18 and 35 years old (42%). Among the participants, 38.7% have already undergone some kind of surgery and 13% declared having some health problem. The questionnaire pointed out that 36% had low and moderate cardiovascular risk. It could be noticed from the AC that 10% of men and 18% of women had high cardiac risk. Among the tested, 43.2% (24.3% altered and 18.9% borderline) showed high BP on the day of the test, but only 2.7% had self-declared hypertensive. In relation to injury, 36% had already had lesions of some kind, 27.5% of which had occurred in the last 8 months. 66.6% had derived from training or racing competitions and the knee was the mostly affected body part. The goal of the present study was to investigate possible differences towards strenght recovery measured by different methods and running economy (RE), after one session of downhill running (DR), in order to induce muscle damage (MD). Our hypothesis is that the strenght recovery measured by jumps is more alike RE markers, due to the measures' specificity. Ten male subjects, ages 18 to 30, apparently healthy, without any experience with strenght training at least 6 months before the tests took place in this study. After going to the lab twice (to familiarize themselves with the protocols, and determine their maximum oxygen consumption/running speeds), they went to the lab five times in the following week, in order to collect all the variables before, immediately after, and 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours in. The variables obtained were: stride frequency (SF), stride lenght (SL), oxygen volume (VO2), carbon dioxide volume (VCO2), ventilation (VE), lactate blood concentration ([Lac]), isometric peak torque (IPT), subjective pain perception (SPP), effort perception (EP), medial-portion circumference (CIR), knee movement extent (EXT), torque development rate (TDR), counter movement jump and squat jump height (HCM and HS), strenght development rate of both jumps (SDCM and SDS), and maximum soil strenght reaction (SRCM and SRS). Changes over time in all variables were verified by one way variancy analysis. Differences between the strenght measures were verified by two way variancy analysis. When significant effects were verified, Tuckey's post-hoc were applied. The significancy level taken on this study was p < 0,05. Of all indirect muscle damage markers, IPT, SPP and TDR were the only ones in which ocurred significant changes. We couldn't find the moments where this happened for TDR with the post-hoc used. The aim of this study was to examine changes on anaerobic power after competitive period in professional soccer players. Twenty five male was evaluated before (PRE) and after (POS) competitive period. To assess anaerobic power was used running based on anaerobic sprint test (RAST), which were determined the maximum power (MAXP), medium power (MEDP), minimum power (MINP) and fatigue index (FI). The test was performed in the first (PRE) and the last (POS) training session of competitive period, wich lasted 20 weeks. There were no significant difference (p>0,05) in POS condition compared to PRE condition on MAXP (10,70 ± 0,95 vs 10,83 ± 0,87), MINP (8,48 ± 0,92 vs 8,28 ± 0,76), MEDP (9,52 ± 0,83 vs 9,41 ± 0,61) and FI (22,73 ± 7,48 vs 25,53 ± 8,79). There was no significant change on anaerobic power after a competitive period wich lasted 20 weeks in professional soccer players.

Soccer is characterized as a sport that has exercises such as jumping, high-intensity and easy running, directional changes among, and other things. These features characterize soccer as an intermittent exercise. Nutrition along with proper exercise programs can be an excellent tool for the success or failure of the team in a championship. The nutrition, when properly oriented, can decrease fatigue of athletes and also optimize their recovery level, which may result in maintenance of performance along with less risk of injury. This study researched in database Pubmed, Scielo and Bireme, using the following words: futebol, nutrição, carboidrato, carbohydrate, soccer, and nutrition. Carbohydrate is a macronutrient used as energy source for performing exercise and its prevalence is varied according to both volume and intensity of exercise. In soccer, there is recommendation for carbohydrate intake before exercise in order to increase the availability of blood glucose, which in turn results in exercise improved capacity. In addition, carbohydrate intake during exercise increases the rapid replacement of all muscle glycogen reserves lost. Finally, the post-exercise consumption is important in the recovery of several nutritional factors such as muscle glycogen restoration, replacement of fluids and also electrolytes. In this sense, a well-oriented carbohydrate intake will result in improved athlete performance, and than may also promotes the success of their team at the end of the championship

A estratégia de corrida tem sido apontada como um fator decisivo para o sucesso do atleta. Durante corridas de média e longa duração, a melhor estratégia será aquela capaz de poupar as "reservas fisiológicas", permitindo ao atleta terminar a prova no menor tempo possível. O controle da estratégia de corrida parece ser influenciado por fatores fisiológicos e psicológicos, que são ajustados constantemente durante a corrida, permitindo ao atleta determinar a intensidade do esforço. Diversas variáveis fisiológicas têm sido relacionadas aos ajustes da estratégia de corrida, no entanto, os resultados observados são controversos e foco de grandes discussões. Assim, a presente revisão tem como objetivo propiciar aos profissionais do esporte um melhor entendimento de questões como: 1) quais as melhores estratégias adotadas para determinado tipo de prova?; 2) como os ajustes da estratégia de corrida são realizados?; e 3) quais variáveis fisiológicas influenciam no controle da estratégia de corrida?

Los requisitos cada vez más exigentes en cuanto a misiones, limitaciones operacionales y ambientales así como nuevas tecnologías, imponen permanentemente retos a los arquitectos navales para generar alternativas de buques y valorar su bondad en las primeras etapas del proyecto. Este es el caso de los Buques Patrulleros de Apoyo Fluvial Pesados PAF-P, que por requerimiento de la Armada Nacional de Colombia ha diseñado y construido COTECMAR. Los PAF-P, son buques fluviales cuya relación Manga-Calado excede la mayoría de los buques existentes (B/T=9,5), debido principalmente a las restricciones en el calado a consecuencia de la escasa profundidad de los ríos. Estos buques están equipados con sistemas de propulsión acimutales tipo “Pum-Jet”. Las particularidades del buque y del ambiente operacional, caracterizado por ríos tropicales con una variabilidad de profundidad dependiente del régimen de lluvias y sequía, así como la falta de canalización y la corriente, hacen que la maniobrabilidad y controlabilidad sean fundamentales para el cumplimiento de su misión; adicionalmente, no existen modelos matemáticos validados que permitan predecir en las primeras etapas del diseño la maniobrabilidad de este tipo de buques con los efectos asociados por profundidad. La presente tesis doctoral aborda el desarrollo de un modelo matemático para simulación de maniobrabilidad en aguas poco profundas de buques con relación manga-calado alta y con propulsores acimutales tipo “Pump-Jet”, cuyo chorro además de entregar el empuje necesario para el avance del buque, genera la fuerza de gobierno en función del ángulo de orientación del mismo, eliminando la necesidad de timones. El modelo matemático ha sido validado mediante los resultados obtenidos en las pruebas de maniobrabilidad a escala real del PAF-P, a través de la comparación de trayectorias, series temporales de las variables de estado más significativas y parámetros del círculo evolutivo como son diámetro de giro, diámetro táctico, avance y transferencia. El plan de pruebas se basó en técnicas de Diseño de Experimentos “DOE” para racionalizar el número de corridas en diferentes condiciones de profundidad, velocidad y orientación del chorro (ángulo de timón). En el marco de la presente investigación y para minimizar los errores por efectos ambientales y por inexactitud en los instrumentos de medición, se desarrolló un sistema de adquisición y procesamiento de datos de acuerdo con los lineamientos de ITTC. La literatura existente describe los efectos negativos de la profundidad en los parámetros de maniobrabilidad de buques convencionales (Efecto tipo S), principalmente las trayectorias descritas en los círculos evolutivos aumentan en la medida que disminuye la profundidad; no obstante, en buques de alta relación manga-calado, B/T=7,51 (Yoshimura, y otros, 1.988) y B/T=6,38 (Yasukawa, y otros, 1.995) ha sido reportado el efecto contrario (Efecto tipo NS Non Standart). Este último efecto sin embargo, ha sido observado mediante experimentación con modelos a escala pero no ha sido validado en pruebas de buques a escala real. El efecto tipo NS en buques dotados con hélice y timones, se atribuye al mayor incremento de la fuerza del timón comparativamente con las fuerzas del casco en la medida que disminuye la profundidad; en el caso de estudio, el fenómeno está asociado a la mejor eficiencia de la bomba de agua “Pump-Jet”, debido a la resistencia añadida en el casco por efecto de la disminución de la profundidad. Los resultados de las pruebas con buque a escala real validan el excelente desempeño de esta clase de buques, cumpliendo en exceso los criterios de maniobrabilidad existentes y muestran que el diámetro de giro y otras características de maniobrabilidad mejoran con la disminución de la profundidad en buques con alta relación manga-calado. ABSTRACT The increasingly demanding requirements in terms of missions, operational and environmental constraints as well as new technologies, constantly impose challenges to naval architects to generate alternatives and asses their performance in the early stages of design. That is the case of Riverine Support Patrol Vessel (RSPV), designed and built by COTECMAR for the Colombian Navy. RSPV are riverine ships with a Beam-Draft ratio exceeding most of existing ships (B/T=9,5), mainly due to the restrictions in draft as a result of shallow water environment. The ships are equipped with azimuthal propulsion system of the “Pump-Jet” type. The peculiarities of the ship and the operational environment, characterized by tropical rivers of variable depth depending on the rain and dry seasons, as well as the lack channels and the effect of water current, make manoeuvrability and controllability fundamental to fulfill its mission; on the other hand, there are not validated mathematical models available to predict the manoeuvrability of such ships with the associated water depth effects in the early stages of design. This dissertation addresses the development of a mathematical model for shallow waters’ manoeuvrability simulation of ships with high Beam-Draft ratio and azimuthal propulsion systems type “Pump-Jet”, whose stream generates the thrust required by the ship to advance and also the steering force depending on the orientation angle, eliminating the need of rudders. The mathematical model has been validated with the results of RSPV’s full scale manoeuvring tests, through a comparison of paths, time series of state variables and other parameters taken from turning tests, such as turning diameter, tactical diameter, advance and transfer. The test plan was developed applying techniques of Design of Experiments “DOE”, in order to rationalize the number of runs in different conditions of water depth, ship speed and jet stream orientation (rudder angle). A data acquisition and processing system was developed, following the guidelines of ITTC, as part of this research effort, in order to minimize errors by environmental effects and inaccuracy in measurement instruments, The negative effects of depth on manoeuvrability parameters for conventional ships (Effect Type S: the path described by the ship during turning test increase with decrease of water depth), has been documented in the open literature; however for wide-beam ships, B/T=7,51 (Yoshimura, y otros, 1.988) and B/T=6,38 (Yasukawa, y otros, 1.995) has been reported the opposite effect (Type NS). The latter effect has been observed thru model testing but until now had not been validated with full-scale results. In ships with propellers and rudders, type NS effect is due to the fact that increment of rudder force becomes larger than hull force with decrease of water depth; in the study case, the phenomenon is associated with better efficiency of the Pump-Jet once the vessel speed becomes lower, due to hull added resistance by the effect of the decrease of water depth. The results of full scale tests validates the excellent performance of this class of ships, fulfilling the manoeuvrability criteria in excess and showing that turning diameter and other parameters in high beam-draft ratio vessels do improve with the decrease of depth.
