Produção e comunicação da informação em ct&i gt7 da ancib: análise bibliométrica no período 2003/2009

The aim of the present research is to analyse Ancib’s scientific production in the workgroup GT7 named Production and Communication of Information in ST&I, between the years of 2003 and 2009, through bibliometric indicators, from which it is possible to indicate what is more important or significant within a scientific field or context, so as to therefore analyse trends, existing relations or processes. The bibliometric studies are an approach method for the analysis of science behaviour in a given field. More specifically, by means of production and connection indicators, it aims at revealing and portraying the most productive authors, the kind of authorship present in this group, the most recurrent themes, most productive institutions, and the collaborative network determined by the institutional coauthorships and their indicators, so as to map and visualize the main researchers and institutions of the present GT, within the period of time in question. The research procedure derived from studying the 94 research project results presented in the period, where the paper reference, summary and corresponding key words can be found. Analysis concerning the most productive authors, most recurrent themes, kinds of authorship and most productive institutions have been carried out from the variables under review. The collaborative network between the institutions was built using the Pajek software, and, with the help of the Ucinet software, indicators of degree centrality, betweeness centrality, and closeness centrality have been reached, besides the calculation of density. The results point to 11 researchers and 9 institutions as the most productive ones. The collaborative institutional network was shown to be fragile, presenting low density, and in general the participating institutions have presented low centrality indexes. As a conclusion, it has been observed that the themes focus, in general, on bibliometric analysis and their indicators, using regional and national data as their universe.

Molecular epidemiology of livestock rabies viruses isolated in the northeastern Brazilian states of Paraíba and Pernambuco from 2003 - 2009

Background Limited or no epidemiological information has been reported for rabies viruses (RABVs) isolated from livestock in the northeastern Brazilian states of Paraíba (PB) and Pernambuco (PE). The aim of this study was to clarify the molecular epidemiology of RABVs circulating in livestock, especially cattle, in these areas between 2003 and 2009. Findings Phylogenetic analysis based on 890 nt of the nucleoprotein (N) gene revealed that the 52 livestock-derived RABV isolates characterized here belonged to a single lineage. These isolates clustered with a vampire bat-related RABV lineage previously identified in other states in Brazil; within PB and PE, this lineage was divided between the previously characterized main lineage and a novel sub-lineage. Conclusions The occurrences of livestock rabies in PB and PE originated from vampire bat RABVs, and the causative RABV lineage has been circulating in this area of northeastern Brazil for at least 7 years. This distribution pattern may correlate to that of a vampire bat population isolated by geographic barriers.

Acto de presentación del libro "Canarias lee: 2009-2010" en la XXIII Feria del Libro de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Este acto tuvo lugar en la carpa institucional de la XXIII Feria del Libro de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, que se celebró en el Parque de San Telmo del día 29 de abril al 3 de mayo. El libro, que recoge los relatos premiados y finalistas del Premio de Relato Corto 2010, convocado por la Biblioteca y el Vicerrectorado de Cultura y Deporte de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, ha sido editado por el Servicio de Publicaciones y Difusión Científica de la ULPGC . La presentación estuvo a cargo de Isabel Pascua Febles, vicerrectora de Cultura y Deporte de la ULPGC; Trinidad Arcos Pereira, directora de Selección y Relaciones con las Organizaciones Sindicales de la ULPGC y María del Carmen Martín Marichal, directora de la Biblioteca Universitaria

La política criminal del legislador [Argentina, 2000-2009]

Investigación sobre la actividad legislativa que se encuentra en el trasfondo de las reformas al Código Penal argentino. El período analizado comprende los años 2000-2009. A través de proyectos de ley y dictámenes de comisiones de las cámaras del Congreso de la Nación se analiza el proceso de creación de las leyes, y las representaciones de violencia e inseguridad que tienen los legisladores. Así, pueden desentrañarse diversas categorías de violencia, derechos, bienes tutelados y el rol de la política criminal en un Estado de derecho
