Análise ergonômica de equipamentos odontológicos

This is study proposes to evaluate the ergonomic aspects of dental equipments. Based on the characteristics proposed by ISO/FDI, on the existing literature and related researches an evaluating system was devised. Thirty nine dental clinics were examined using the 165 pointssystem proposed, distributed in 12 criteria. None of the dental clinics examined showed a bad ergonomics level, 41% were good and 59% reached excellent levels. The point-supported evaluation system proposed is effective in the analysis of the ergonomic conditions of dental equipments, allowing a quantification of their characteristics. Using this system, the dentist can also know the level of ergonomic satisfaction existing in his equipment, and identify the conditions to be improved. It was concluded that the equipment belonging to dental workplaces evaluated had excellent level of compliance, however corrective measures are needed since even the presence of a few non-conforming items is a sufficient condition to cause injury to users, decreased efficiency and comfort and loss quality of service

Expectativas de participantes, professores de educação física e assistentes sociais de um projeto social esportivo de pólo aquático

Currently there are numerous social projects scattered through out the country, including the sport, for the most part, aimed at children and teens considered at social vulnerability. These projects end up having as main guiding sports, these in turn take several purposes, among them, the sport recreation/socialization and professionalization of sport, which often end up being worked disassociated from one of another, forgetting that, in the same place, these different purposes can live therefore are the subjects that give meaning to their practice. In this sense, this research sought to understand the meanings that the participants in a social sports project water polo attribute to the practice. This project happens in a provincial city of São Paulo, serving about 2.300 children and teens and has as main objectives the social inclusion and training of high-performance athlete. The research, qualitative approach was characterized by an exploratory study and used the interview as collection technique. The study included 40 children and adolescents attending the project, as well as two social workers and two physical education teachers that working on the project. Associação entre implantes odontológicos e próteses parciais removíveis: revisão de literatura

Unilateral or bilateral distal-extension removable partial dentures present complex biomechanics. The movements in different directions, associated with the alveolar ridge shape and soft tissue resilience can lead to damaging forces on the supporting structures. The association between implants / removable partial denture aims to provide better mechanical and biological properties to the stomatognathic system. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this paper was to review the articles about the effect of implant support on distal extension removable partial dentures. LITERATURE REVIEW AND CONCLUSION: Studies have shown that this combination provides greater support, retention and stability to the prosthesis, thus limiting their approach movement toward supporting tissues and providing functional and psychological comfort to patients.

Nível de conhecimento dos cirurgiões dentistas sobre a qualidade dos prontuários odontológicos para fins de identificação humana

Objective: The aim of this research was to determine the knowledge level of 400 dentists registered in the Regional Dental Council of Cuiabá, through a questionnaire about the importance of records in the process of human identification. Results: We observed that 48.36% of them dispense between 10 and 20 minutes. Only 13.1% of the surveyed dentists did not have the habit of writing down the oral conditions of their patients before starting treatment and 42.62% have only one odontogram filled. From the 122 participants, 11.11% reported that the documentation had no utility to establish the patients identity. To make the situation worse, 33.6% of them said they did not keep the records of patients updated. Conclusion: We conclude that the dentist of Cuiabá has enough knowledge on preparing, maintaining and importance of dental records before the death in the identification process for establishing the patient identity. But, always he did not properly fills the dental records, thus it has been reducing their clinical, administrative and legal value.

O conhecimento das funções e a formação dos auxiliares odontológicos atuantes no serviço público de saúde de municipios do noroeste paulista

The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge of Hygienists (TSB) and Dental Auxiliaries (ASB) in relation to their roles regulated by Law number 11.889, December 24th, 2008, and formation of them and capacitating received before they had been admitted in public health system. It’s a transversal and descriptive study where the target population were TSB and ASB (N=76) that works in public service from 5 cities of the DRS II-SP. Data collection was performed by semi-structured instrument with opened and closed questions. The answer rate was 90.79% (n=69). The results showed that the majority of professional know part of their duties (56%) Near half of them had formation course (47.8%). In relation to information received during formation courses, 80% stated had received all information necessary to actualization of knowledge, however, 84% stated to feel necessity to actualize their knowledge to develop their works, 58% of professionals said that they don’t receive capacitating after they had been admitted. It was possible to conclude that the majority of professionals know part of their roles, has formation course and the majority don’t receive capacitating when they are admitted in public health system, however, it was observed that a part of them don’t have specific formation yet and don’t know part of their roles according to current legislation

Honorários praticados por operadoras de planos odontológicos e pelo SUS em relação aos definidos pelo Conselho Federal de Odontologia

Aim: The present study investigated the fees paid by dental insurance companies to dental surgeons, referrent to groups of dental procedures. Materials and Methods: The fees offered by dental insurance companies were defined according to the average values from the price tables of 5 insurance plans that offered national coverage. These average values and the values paid by the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) were compared with those set forth in the VRCC table from Brazilian Federal Dental Council (CFO). For comparison, average values were obtained for the following groups of procedures: preventive, aesthetic, endodontic, and surgical. The values of these preventive procedures were compared with other groups of procedures. Results: The plans applied an average discount of approximately 54.51% upon the prices suggested in the CFO price list. The highest discount was observed within the group of preventive procedures (57.09%, on average). Conclusion: The evaluated health insurance companies in vestigated in the present study are applying an abusive discount upon the prices suggested in the CFO price list. It's necessary to identify alternatives to reverse this situation.
