Edad de menarquía e indicadores de adiposidad en mujeres del País Vasco (España)

[ES] El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar la relación entre la cantidad de grasa y su patrón de distribución con la edad de menarquia, en una muestra de 641 jóvenes universitarias de la UPVEHU (18+ a 29+ años), así como en una muestra de 378 mujeres de más edad (30+ y 49+ años). Se midieron la estatura, el peso y cinco pliegues de grasa subcutánea. Se calcularon el IMC y el % de grasa (Siri, 1961). La obtención de los patrones de distribución de grasa, central vs. periférico, se realizó mediante un ACP. La edad de menarquia se ha estimado mediante el método retrospectivo y las categorías de maduración se basan en las medias y desviaciones típicas de cada muestra. En general, se comprueba que las maduradoras tempranas tienen mayor cantidad de grasa y son algo más centrales que las de maduración media y tardía. La asociación es más evidente en la muestra de mayor edad, por lo que la asociación entre maduración sexual y adiposidad depende de la etapa del ciclo vital, haciéndose más patente conforme aumenta la edad.

Variations temporelles de Vibrio cholerae Non 01 et conditions environnementales dans un site aquacole (Lagune Ebrié, Côte d'Ivoire)

The annual cycle of Vibrio cholerae in the environment surrounding the Layo aquaculture facility (Ebrié lagoon) was studied from March 1991 to April 1992. Vibrio cholerae counts were coupled with the determination of physical and chemical characteristics of water and the estimation of biological richness of this environment.

Enhancement of ferromagnetic properties in In1.99Co0.01O3 by additional Cu doping

This paper reports room-temperature ferromagnetism in Co- and Cu-doped In2O3 samples synthesized by a solid-state reaction method. Structure and composition analyses revealed that Co and Cu were incorporated into the In2O3 lattices. Photoluminescence measurement revealed an additional emission at 520 urn from these doped samples. The magnetic measurement showed that additional Cu doping greatly enhanced the ferromagnetism of In1.99Co0.01O3 bulk samples. The implication of the effects of additional Cu doping is also discussed. 158-μJ pulses from a single-transverse-mode, large-mode-area erbium-doped fiber amplifier

We report the amplification of 10-100-pJ semiconductor diode pulses to an energy of 158 μJ and peak powers >100 kW in a multistage fiber amplifier chain based on a single-mode, large-mode-area erbium-doped amplifier design. To our knowledge these results represent the highest single-mode pulse energy extracted from any doped-fiber system. © 1997 Optical Society of America.

年龄和FSH在肉牛活体取卵过程中对卵泡和卵母细胞发育的影响

青年牛(12月龄)和经产牛(7-8岁)平均卵泡数(≥2mm)及>10mm卵泡数明显高于老年牛(≥14岁)(P<0.01)。青年牛和经产牛平均卵母细胞数及平均COC数高于老年牛(P<0.05)。1和2级卵母细胞比例青年牛高于或等于经产牛高于老年牛,3和4级卵母细胞比例老年牛高于经产牛高于或等于青年牛(P<0.05)。青年牛和经产牛2级卵母细胞占优势,而老年牛3级卵母细胞居多。不同剂量外源性FSH诱导后,经产牛和老年牛平均卵泡数在各剂量组之间没有显著差异(P>0.05);但≥6mm卵泡数及2级卵母细胞比例明显增加,而2-5mm卵泡数相应减少及裸卵和老化卵比例降低(P<0.05)。在10次取卵过程中,青年牛和经产牛发情当天平均卵母细胞数均较以后各次的数量低(P<0.05)。
