Mulheres sindicalistas, em congresso nacional, discutiram vários temas como saúde, maternidade, jornada de trabalho e aposentadoria. A coordenadora do grupo, Cristina Bruschini afirma que de maneira geral predominou um consenso no grupo, pois as trabalhadoras estão bastante amadurecidas em relação a vários pontos, como por exemplo, defende-se a igualdade entre trabalhadores e trabalhadoras em todas as questões, a não ser em relação à maternidade e a amamentação. O Plenário se reuniu para votar o substitutivo do Relator Mauro Benevides (PMDB-CE), que prevê mudanças no Regimento Interno. A expectativa da Mesa da Constituinte era aprovar essa proposta no lugar do substitutivo do Centrão, mas foi pedida a preferência para votar a proposta do Centrão. Dois Constituintes falaram contra o substitutivo dentre eles o Deputado Bonifácio de Andrada (PDS- MG) e dois a favor, sendo um deles o Deputado Maurilio Ferreira Lima (PMDB-PE). Resultado da votação: 271 votaram a favor, 223 contra e 2 abstenções, aprovando assim a preferência de votação do substitutivo do Centrão. O Presidente da Assembleia Nacional Constituinte (ANC), o Deputado Ulysses Guimarães (PMDB-SP), considera que os trabalhos da Constituinte serão mais difíceis. O Deputado Daso Coimbra (PMDB-RJ) afirma que é possível agora um entendimento, já que o grupo demonstrou sua força. O Senador Fernando Henrique Cardoso (PMDB-SP) considera necessário um entendimento entre as lideranças.

Effect of darting phenomenon of African catfish Heterobranchus longifilis (Burchell 1822) on growth performance of Nile tilapia: Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus, 1758)

Replicate Ponds of 0.02ha stocked at 500 catfishes with 20,000 tilapia/ha were used to assess growth performance of O.niloticus, average weight 50.4g with (i) darted catfish; H.longifilis (shooters) average weight 60.3g (ii) non-shooters of H.longifilis, average weight 35.4g. Final mean weight, mean growth rate, specific growth rate and food conversion ratio were 499.5g 26g/day, 1.36% and 5.58% respectively for O.niloticus stocked with longifilis (shooters and 440.4g 2.3g/day 1.23% and 5.58% respectively for O.niloticus stocked withH.longifilis (non- shooters) and 246.9g, 1.2g/day, 0.93, 6.30% respectively for tilapia in monoculture. The least growth was noted for O. niloticus in monoculture while the best growth was recorded O. niloticus in polyculture with darted catfish

The diatoms of Longans lake-vegetation. Fossil diatom flora. [Translation from: Acta Phytogeographica Suecica 36 73-86, 1955. ]

Sediment samples were taken from Lake Langans in Sweden and fossilised diatoms analysed. Sample methods and environmental factors are discussed. Species with a characteristic occurrence are described. The article discusses diatom-thanatocoenoses as indicators of environment.

Studies on the mouth size of fish larvae. Method and conclusions only [Translation from: Bulletin of the Japanese Society of Scientific Fisheries 36, 353-368, 1970]

This study was conducted to look into the relationship between mouth size and the total length of larval fish, and the growth in total length of larval fish in one or within a one-year period. Study material was gathered in the South China Sea, the Bay of Bangkok and the Vietnamese coast. This translation focuses on methods and conclusions of the original (longer) paper.

Taxonomic description of Peridinium lomnickii, P.lomnickii var. splendida and P. wierzejskii [Translation from: Flora Slodkowodna Polski. Tom 4. Cryptophyceae, Dinophyceae, Raphidoiphyceae, p326,328-330. Warsaw, 1974]

This partial translation from a larger paper provides taxonomic descriptions of the dinoflagellates Peridinium lomnickii, P.lomnickii var. splendida and P. wierzejskii. Illustrations are included.

Dangeardia sporapiculata n.sp., the term 'apiculus' and the species limitation of some chytrids [Translation from: Sydowia 16 324-330, 1963]

Taxonomic observations are given on Dangeardia sporapiculata n. sp. Furthermore the term 'apiculus' and the species limitation of some chytrids are being discussed. It is concluded that the newly described species Dangeardia sporapiculata does not fit satisfactorily into the present system of phlyctidiacee, because their characteristics do not agree exactly with any genus.

Influence of carbon tetrachloride on the liver of tadpoles of brown frog (Rana temporaria) [Translation from: Trudy leningt.sanit.-gig.med.Inst. 82, 32-36, 1967]

Comparative studies of the structure and regeneration of tissues in different vertebrates make it possible to get ideas from the evolution and regeneration potential of tissues. In this study are considered the reactive changes in the liver of larvae of the amphibian Rana temporaria to CC14 of different concentrations. Tadpoles of different sizes and different growth were placed once each day every day in a vessel with a determined solution of CC14 in water. The liver of tadpoles has a distinctive structure. It is distinguished by structure not only from the liver of higher vertebrates, but also from the liver of the adult frogs. The liver of the latter has an insignificant amount of fat and a whole series of other characters not typical of the liver of the tadpole. Placing the tadpoles in a solution of CCl4 with a concentration of 0.1% did not produce in the liver noticeable morphological changes. The author concludes that the absence of degenerative changes in the liver tadpoles, in spite of a high percentage of death of the experimental animals, tells of the well-known resistance of their liver to the influence of CC14.

Observations are reported on the content of organic matter in the Moscow region in 1941. Some data is given on alkalinity, oxygen content and colourisation of the rivers.
