Standen bisher bei den umfassend in der Literatur behandelten Logistikansätzen mehr die Materialwirtschaftsprobleme hinsichtlich der zeitgerechten Beschaffung und der Bestandshöhe im Vordergrund der Betrachtung, so meldet sich jetzt die Zeitwirtschaft mit den damit verbundenen Anstößen auf die Unternehmensstrategie zurück. Der Zeitfaktor ist bei kapitalintensiver Produktion schon immer ein knappes Gut gewesen, mit dem gut gewirtschaftet werden musste, um wettbewerbsfähig zu bleiben. Die derzeitige Wettbewerbssituation mit immer kürzeren Produkt-Entwicklungszeiten, Produkt-Lebenszeiten, Produkt-Herstellzeiten, Produkt-Lieferzeiten verstärkt die enorme Bedeutung des Zeitfaktors als Wert oder Bezugsgröße für Kosten, Termine oder Kapazitäten.

Application of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference for wind power short-term forecasting

The increased integration of wind power into the electric grid, as nowadays occurs in Portugal, poses new challenges due to its intermittency and volatility. Hence, good forecasting tools play a key role in tackling these challenges. In this paper, an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference approach is proposed for short-term wind power forecasting. Results from a real-world case study are presented. A thorough comparison is carried out, taking into account the results obtained with other approaches. Shared resources and precedence constraints with capacity sharing and stealing

This paper proposes a new strategy to integrate shared resources and precedence constraints among real-time tasks, assuming no precise information on critical sections and computation times is available. The concept of bandwidth inheritance is combined with a greedy capacity sharing and stealing policy to efficiently exchange bandwidth among tasks, minimising the degree of deviation from the ideal system's behaviour caused by inter-application blocking. The proposed capacity exchange protocol (CXP) focus on exchanging extra capacities as early, and not necessarily as fairly, as possible. This loss of optimality is worth the reduced complexity as the protocol's behaviour nevertheless tends to be fair in the long run and outperforms other solutions in highly dynamic scenarios, as demonstrated by extensive simulations.

Students' knowledge about tobacco one year after receiving the PAL smoking prevention program

A review of literature revealed that the control of cigarette smoking could do more to improve health than any other single action in the field of preventive medicine. In Ontario, since 1989, both Public Health Units and Boards ofEducations have been mandated to provide educational studies related to tobacco use prevention. Even given this fact, there has been an increase in smoking behaviQurs at an earlier age and in females in particular. Smoking prevention progralns must use the most effective means to assist students to obtain the knowledge and skills required to remain or becom'e nonsmokers. In the Niagara Region, PAL smoking prevention programs are offered in some, but not all, schools. As a form of program evaluation, this research sought to determine if students who had PAL could answer correctly a greater number of smoking-related questions than students who did not have this program. Findings reported that students who had PAL in Grade 6 were able to correctly answer more knowledge-based questions (at a statistically significant level), could provide ways to refuse cigarettes at a greater rate, and were able to provide more reasons for remaining nonsmokers. Students who had smoking prevention programming re,ported smoking behavio'urs at a lower rate than those who did not receive this type of program.

Permutation entropy based real-time chatter detection using audio signal in turning process

Machine tool chatter is an unfavorable phenomenon during metal cutting, which results in heavy vibration of cutting tool. With increase in depth of cut, the cutting regime changes from chatter-free cutting to one with chatter. In this paper, we propose the use of permutation entropy (PE), a conceptually simple and computationally fast measurement to detect the onset of chatter from the time series using sound signal recorded with a unidirectional microphone. PE can efficiently distinguish the regular and complex nature of any signal and extract information about the dynamics of the process by indicating sudden change in its value. Under situations where the data sets are huge and there is no time for preprocessing and fine-tuning, PE can effectively detect dynamical changes of the system. This makes PE an ideal choice for online detection of chatter, which is not possible with other conventional nonlinear methods. In the present study, the variation of PE under two cutting conditions is analyzed. Abrupt variation in the value of PE with increase in depth of cut indicates the onset of chatter vibrations. The results are verified using frequency spectra of the signals and the nonlinear measure, normalized coarse-grained information rate (NCIR).

El desarrollo del concepto de muerte en la infancia : un análisis psicogenético.

Estudiar la formación del concepto de muerte en el niño, sus creencias acerca de la muerte, partiendo de la idea de que como otros conceptos es de difícil elaboración por parte del niño porque hace referencia al contenido del pensamiento. 185 niños entre 5 y 13 años escolarizados en EGB de procedencia rural y urbana distribuidos homogéneamente. Considerando que el concepto de muerte incluye componentes de índole biológica, afectiva, social, etc. Se seleccionaron 6 aspectos: definiciones y argumentos que aporta el niño como causalidad. Sentimientos hacia ella. Creencias que mantiene y soluciones que da sobre el destino de los muertos. Posibilidad de sensaciones tras la muerte. Carácter definitivo e irreversible, reencarnación, resurrección. Alcance, carácter inevitable y universal de la muerte. Interrogatorio verbal e individual a través de un cuestionario siguiendo las pautas del método clínico de Piaget. Consta de 14 ítems sin orden fijo, según las respuestas del niño se incluían nuevas preguntas para clarificarlas, pero sin perder el núcleo. Análisis cualitativo en función de las edades y valoración global de resultados se proporcionan ejemplos de las respuestas más significativas y resultados en tablas de doble entrada (edad con las restantes variables). Aparecen tres etapas diferenciadas y coincidentes con los estadios evolutivos de Piaget. 1) De 5 a 7 años dificultad para definir la muerte, evoca sólo casos extremos como vejez por lo que no le alcanza esa posibilidad, el lugar de los muertos es el cielo o el infierno. Niegan que los muertos puedan sentir y no aceptan la posibilidad de retorno. 2) De 7 a 11 años aumenta la capacidad para definir y actuar sobre los acontecimientos no presentes. Llama la atención el cambio de la forma de exponer las causas de la muerte y conciben la existencia de razones internas biológicas. Se acepta la obligatoriedad, universalidad e inevitabilidad del fenómeno. 3) De 11 a 14 años hay un gran cambio cualitativo especula objetivamente sobre ello y se suele considerar como el fin de la historia individual, hay una mayor finura en el análisis de los sentimientos y expresan las razones de sus propias reacciones. Se comprueba que la adquisición del concepto de muerte requiere un laborioso trabajo de construcción a lo largo de un proceso evolutivo en el que se advierten errores e imperfecciones hasta la consecución correcta del mismo. A juicio de la autora este trabajo reabre líneas de investigación dentro de este tema ya que plantea dudas e interrogantes.

Improving Label Space Usage for Ethernet Label Switched Paths

Ethernet is becoming the dominant aggregation technology for carrier transport networks; however, as it is a LAN technology, native bridged ethernet does not fulfill all the carrier requirements. One of the schemes proposed by the research community to make ethernet fulfill carrier requirements is ethernet VLAN-label switching (ELS). ELS allows the creation of label switched data paths using a 12-bit label encoded in the VLAN TAG control information field. Previous label switching technologies such as MPLS use more bits for encoding the label. Hence, they do not suffer from label sparsity issues as ELS might. This paper studies the sparsity issues resulting from the reduced ELS VLAN-label space and proposes the use of the label merging technique to improve label space usage. Experimental results show that label merging considerably improves label space usage

Implementación del Total Productive Management (TPM) como tecnología de gestión para el desarrollo de los procesos de MAQUIAVICOLA LTDA.

En el desarrollo de este trabajo de grado se describe la filosofía de calidad Total Productive Managment (TPM) y se desarrolla el plan de implementación de esta en una empresa del sector avícola colombiano conocida como MAQUIAVICOLA LTDA. Esta implementación tiene por objetivo optimizar la ejecución de los procesos productivos que se desarrollan dentro de la empresa con el fin de incrementar su productividad. A partir de la descripción de los conceptos y herramientas que contempla esta filosofía, se diseña un plan de implementación que va a permitir aplicar este modelo al desarrollo de los procesos diarios de la empresa, contribuyendo a la mejora de indicadores de gestión.
