El següent projecte conté informació sobre què són els paradisos fiscals, els seus avantatges, i on s'ubiquen. També s'analitza el procés que algú ha de seguir per anar a un paradís fiscal i avalua com la gent rica i les grans empreses operen els seus negocis a través dels paradisos fiscals i prenen avantatge d'ells reduint les seves obligacions fiscals de manera significativa. El projecte també considera la qüestió del secret bancari, que ha estat un gran conflicte entre els països en els darrers anys.

El present treball vol ser un anàlisi del pensament de Lipovetsky, no només des d’un punt de vista cronològic sinó més aviat global, tot analitzant els principals camps d’estudi de l’autor i veient com aquests interaccionen o evolucionen al llarg del temps. El narcisisme, l’hiperconsum i el nou paradigma antropològic de l’individu es perfilen com els grans temes d’anàlisi del sociòleg francès. A més a més, veurem alguns dels punts dèbils de l’enfocament de l’autor així com les paradoxes i les contradiccions dels seus estudis.

Aquest treball té l'objectiu d'analitzar de manera detallada dues grans obres de la literatura universal: ‘La Sonata a Kreutzer’ de León Tolstoi i ‘El Túnel’ d'Ernesto Sábato. El nostre segle es distingeix dels d'antany pel valor de la comunicació. És per això, que la literatura ha de cobrar més importància. No ens referim a una mera lectura d'uns llibres, sinó a un estudi a fons del que signifiquen les paraules que estan escrites en les obres. Es realitzarà una anàlisi partint d'aquestes novel·les, amb la utilització de vària bibliografia, amb la finalitat d'abastar algunes de les qüestions relevants i així, poder conèixer les similituds i diferències entre dues obres de diferents autors.

The aim of this paper is to verify, for the Spanish case, whether between 1977 and 2008 has increased the internal democracy of the major political parties (PSOE, AP / PP, PCE / IU, PNV and CDC). To do this, we will focus on their leadership selection processes, one of the key elements associated with intra-party democracy. The paper is going to introduce data on four different dimensions of leadership selection: the certification process, the voting procedure, the inclusiveness of the selectorate and, finally, the degree of competitiveness. The results will show that have been few changes in the leadership selection processes of the Spanish political parties since 1977. However, the results of the Spanish case will also be used to suggest some preliminary links between the four dimensions.

El presidente Abraham Lincoln triunfaba en sus discursos gracias a sus artes retóricas y oratorias. Estas técnicas y recursos lingüísticos que empleaba Lincoln para que sus disertaciones fueran de lo más claras y concisas serán mostradas y evaluadas. Además, se analizarán tres de sus discursos más célebres y se intentará demostrar el estilo lincolniano que existe en ellos. También, se expondrán las características de un buen orador y se relacionarán con las que usaba el presidente. Para poder presentar toda esta investigación se ha buscado y averiguado en libros especializados sobre Lincoln, volúmenes sobre oratoria y retórica, revistas, periódicos de la época, Internet y en sus discursos. También, ha sido necesario asistir a exposiciones y exhibiciones sobre la figura de Abraham Lincoln celebradas en Nueva York y Washington.

Pensions together with savings and investments during active life are key elements of retirement planning. Motivation for personal choices about the standard of living, bequest and the replacement ratio of pension with respect to last salary income must be considered. This research contributes to the financial planning by helping to quantify long-term care economic needs. We estimate life expectancy from retirement age onwards. The economic cost of care per unit of service is linked to the expected time of needed care and the intensity of required services. The expected individual cost of long-term care from an onset of dependence is estimated separately for men and women. Assumptions on the mortality of the dependent people compared to the general population are introduced. Parameters defining eligibility for various forms of coverage by the universal public social care of the welfare system are addressed. The impact of the intensity of social services on individual predictions is assessed, and a partial coverage by standard private insurance products is also explored. Data were collected by the Spanish Institute of Statistics in two surveys conducted on the general Spanish population in 1999 and in 2008. Official mortality records and life table trends were used to create realistic scenarios for longevity. We find empirical evidence that the public long-term care system in Spain effectively mitigates the risk of incurring huge lifetime costs. We also find that the most vulnerable categories are citizens with moderate disabilities that do not qualify to obtain public social care support. In the Spanish case, the trends between 1999 and 2008 need to be further explored.

El present treball pretén aportar una definició del “màrqueting de valors” distingint-lo d'altres tipus de màrqueting que es podrien prestar a confusió: el màrqueting comercial, el màrqueting social, el màrqueting amb causa, i el màrqueting no lucratiu. Posteriorment ens endinsem en la filosofia postmoderna amb els corrents relativistas i nihilistas sobre la pèrdua dels valors tradicionals per a demostrar que, encara remanent en la nostra societat les visió del relativisme moral, no significa que hagi un relativisme ètic, legitimant així la nomenclatura de “màrqueting de valors”. En un segon capítol, s'analitzen vuit casos de projectes reals en països en vies de desenvolupament com exemples de màrqueting de valors. Acarem la viabilitat de la nostra proposta de definició de màrqueting de valors amb cadascun dels exemples, arribant a la conclusió que la definició és viable i defineix un tipus de màrqueting particular.

A partir d’una visió teòrica del disseny emocional i del branding emocional, s’analitza en profunditat la trajectòria i la imatge que projecta la marca Apple gràcies a disciplines com aquestes. La finalitat és conèixer quin paper juguen els sentits i les experiències, per assolir amb èxit l’amor d’una persona per un producte determinat.

La llibertat religiosa ha experimentat un desenvolupament important en l’Estat Espanyol des de la Constitució de 1978, donant lloc a un marc jurídic que avui en dia es segueix desenvolupant. Un instrument important per potenciar ’aquesta llibertat religiosa és el Registre d’entitats religioses en el que s’inscriuen totes les entitats que desenvolupen el seu culte a Espanya, i en especial les fundacions religioses de l’Esglèsia Catòlica.

PADICAT is the web archive created in 2005 in Catalonia (Spain ) by the Library of Catalonia (BC ) , the National Library of Catalonia , with the aim of collecting , processing and providing permanent access to the digital heritage of Catalonia . Its harvesting strategy is based on the hybrid model ( of massive harvesting . SPA top level domain ; selective compilation of the web site output of Catalan organizations; focused harvesting of public events) . The system provides open access to the whole collection , on the Internet . We consider necessary to complement the current search for new and visualization software with open source software tool, CAT ( Curator Archiving Tool) , composed by three modules aimed to effectively managing the processes of human cataloguing ; to publish directories where the digital resources and special collections ; and to offer statistical information of added value to end users. Within the framework of the International Internet Preservation Consortium meeting ( Vienna 2010) , the progress in the development of this new tool, and the philosophy that has motivated his design, are presented to the international community.

Metropolitan areas concentrate the main share of population, production and consumption in OECD countries. They are likely to be the most important units for economic, social and environmental analysis as well as for the development of policy strategies. However, one of the main problems that occur when adopting metropolitan areas as units of analysis and policy in European countries is the absence of widely accepted standards for identifying them. This severe problem appeared when we tried to perform comparative research between Spain and Italy using metropolitan areas as units of analysis. The aim of this paper is to identify metropolitan areas in Spain and Italy using similar methodologies. The results allow comparing the metropolitan realities of both countries as well as providing the metropolitan units that can be used in subsequent comparative researches. Two methodologies are proposed: the Cheshire-GEMACA methodology (FUR) and an iterative version of the USA-MSA algorithm, particularly adapted to deal with polycentric metropolitan areas (DMA). Both methods show a good approximation to the metropolitan reality and produce very similar results: 75 FUR and 67 DMA in Spain (75% of total population and employment), and 81 FUR and 86 DMA in Italy (70% of total population and employment).

I construct "homogeneous" series of salaried employment, employee compensation and total labor income for Spain and its regions covering the period 1955-2008. I also estimate labor's share in regional and national GVA and construct an indicator of the average cost of labor including both employees and non-salaried workers.

The availability of rich firm-level data sets has recently led researchers to uncover new evidence on the effects of trade liberalization. First, trade openness forces the least productive firms to exit the market. Secondly, it induces surviving firms to increase their innovation efforts and thirdly, it increases the degree of product market competition. In this paper we propose a model aimed at providing a coherent interpretation of these findings. We introducing firm heterogeneity into an innovation-driven growth model, where incumbent firms operating in oligopolistic industries perform cost-reducing innovations. In this framework, trade liberalization leads to higher product market competition, lower markups and higher quantity produced. These changes in markups and quantities, in turn, promote innovation and productivity growth through a direct competition effect, based on the increase in the size of the market, and a selection effect, produced by the reallocation of resources towards more productive firms. Calibrated to match US aggregate and firm-level statistics, the model predicts that a 10 percent reduction in variable trade costs reduces markups by 1:15 percent, firm surviving probabilities by 1 percent, and induces an increase in productivity growth of about 13 percent. More than 90 percent of the trade-induced growth increase can be attributed to the selection effect.
