The litchi erineum mite, Aceria litchii (Keifer), is the major pest of litchi, Litchi chinensis Sonnerat (Sapindaceae). This study evaluated the effect of 11 pesticides on the survival of A. litchii as well as on the survival and reproduction of Phytoseius intermedius Evans& McFarlane, the predator most found in association with it in Brazil. The containment of A. litchii in small petri dishes whose bottoms were covered with a solidified paste made of a mixture of gypsum and activated charcoal (9: 1 in volume), kept humid, was shown to be adequate for this type of study. For the evaluation of the effect of pesticides on A. litchii, mites leaving the erinia from the pieces of litchi leaves (removed from the plants approximate to 24 h earlier) were sprayed under a Potter tower and immediately transferred to the 2.5-cm-diameter petri dishes. After 2, 12, 24, and 48 h of the application, the dishes were examined to evaluate the mite survival. The four pesticides causing the highest levels A. litchii mortality, as well as azadirachtin, were tested for the effect on P. intermedius. For this test, experimental units consisted of discs of uninfested litchi leaves also sprayed under a Potter tower before introducing the predators. Survival and oviposition of the predator were evaluated every 24 h for 5 consecutive days; viability of the eggs laid was also evaluated. Highest mortality of A. litchii occurred with the application of fenpyroximate, sulfur, abamectin, and hexythiazox. Azadirachtin was considered moderately harmful to the predator P. intermedius, whereas other pesticides were classified as harmful. Despite the low efficiency of azadirachtin in the control of the pest, its relative selectivity to P. intermedius would encourage the evaluation on field condition, especially for use in organic production systems.

The aim of this research is to verify the relationship between the maturity levels of environmental management and the adoption of green supply chain management (GSCM) practices by electro-electronic companies in Brazil. In this work a two-phase research was conducted, with one quantitative and the other qualitative. The quantitative phase aimed to test whether a relationship between the maturity levels of environmental management and GSCM exists, while the qualitative phase tried to detail the characteristics of this relationship. The quantitative phase was conducted through a survey with 100 Brazilian electro-electronic companies and the collected data were processed using Structural Equation Modeling. For the qualitative phase, a multiple case study was conducted with three companies located in Brazil. The results indicate that: (1) The main hypothesis was confirmed and considered statistically valid, indicating that, indeed, the maturity level of environmental management influences the adoption of GSCM practices; (2) a coevolution tends to occur between the environmental maturity and the GSCM practices; that is, the more developed is the company's environmental management, more complex GSCM practices are adopted; and (3) the GSCM internal practices tend to present a greater relative adoption than the external practices; these external practices of GSCM tend to be adopted when the company is inserted in a higher environmental stage and/or operates under a scenario of stronger normative environmental pressure. O presente trabalho problematiza de que forma a escrita sobre a prática pedagógica pode contribuir para a promoção do empoderamento do professor. Para isto, desenvolvo uma pesquisa documental (LÜDKE; ANDRÉ, 1986), a partir das escritas de um grupo de professores, denominadas “Pipocas Pedagógicas”, crônicas em que são relatados acontecimentos de sua vida escolar, como profissionais e também como alunos. Estes professores são participantes do “Grupo de Terça” vinculado ao Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Educação Continuada (GEPEC), ligado ao Programa de Pós Graduação da Faculdade de Educação da UNICAMP. A pesquisa, foi subsidiada por entrevistas com dois destes professores escritores, para melhor compreender como se desenvolve essa prática. A partir da análise deste material, o estudo perpassa sobre a importância da reflexão sobre a prática pedagógica, como forma de pesquisá-la. Estas temáticas foram necessárias para aprofundar o conceito de empoderamento, e poder pensá-lo dentro da realidade educacional, uma vez que a reflexão articulada ao conhecimento são fatores que podem levar ao empoderamento. Em função disso, realizei uma pesquisa bibliográfica, buscando o conceito de empoderamento em duas bases teóricas: SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) e Anais da ANPEd (Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Educação), nos quais analisarei os artigos referentes aos Grupos de Trabalho: GT03 – Movimentos Sociais, Sujeitos e Processos Educativos; GT06 – Educação Popular; GT08 – Formação de Professores; GT18 – Educação de Pessoas Jovens e Adultas, fazendo um recorte entre os anos de 2000 a 2011. Desta forma, pretendo contribuir com reflexões que possibilitem (re)pensar formas de se chegar ao empoderamento docente e a consequência disto nos modos de se enxergar à educação

A simulação de tendências futuras no setor de fertilizantes encaminha o produtor rural a prevenir-se de bruscas variações de preços, possibilitando maior poder de concorrência no cenário internacional. Para tanto, propõe-se a utilização da metodologia ARIMA para se estimar a demanda do consumo de fertilizantes no Brasil. Primeiramente revisitando a literatura especializada, obtendo informações históricas relevantes, além de avaliar as vicissitudes do cenário atual. A segunda parte introduz os conceitos da metodologia ARIMA , e encerrando com a apresentação dos dados e análises estatísticas da previsão 2012 à 2016

Validation of analytical methodology for quantification of cefazolin sodium by liquid chromatography

A reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography method was validated for the determination of cefazolin sodium in lyophilized powder for solution for injection to be applied for quality control in pharmaceutical industry. The liquid chromatography method was conducted on a Zorbax Eclipse Plus C18 column (250 x 4.6 mm, 5 μm), maintained at room temperature. The mobile phase consisted of purified water: acetonitrile (60: 40 v/v), adjusted to pH 8 with triethylamine. The flow rate was of 0.5 mL min-1 and effluents were monitored at 270 nm. The retention time for cefazolin sodium was 3.6 min. The method proved to be linear (r2 =0.9999) over the concentration range of 30-80 µg mL-1. The selectivity of the method was proven through degradation studies. The method demonstrated satisfactory results for precision, accuracy, limits of detection and quantitation. The robustness of this method was evaluated using the Plackett–Burman fractional factorial experimental design with a matrix of 15 experiments and the statistical treatment proposed by Youden and Steiner. Finally, the proposed method could be also an advantageous option for the analysis of cefazolin sodium, contributing to improve the quality control and to assure the therapeutic efficacy

This manuscript aims proposing a methodology for correlating soil porosity to the respective geological units using geostatistical analysis techniques, including interpolation data by kriging. The site studied was in Lorena municipality, Paraíba do Sul Valley, southeastern Brazil. Specifically all studies were carried out within an area of 12 km2 located at Santa Edwirges farm. The database comprehended 41 soil samples taken at different geological and geomorphologic units at three different depths: surface, 50 cm and 100 cm depth. The geostatistical analyses results were correlated to a geological mapping specifically elaborated for the site. This mapping accounts for two different geological formations and a geological contact characterized by a shearing zone. The results indicate the existence of a significant relationship between the soil porosity and the respective geological units. The studies revealed that the residual soils from weathered granitic rocks tend to have higher porosities than the residual soils from weathered biotite gneiss rocks, while the soil porosity within the shearing zone is relatively un-sensitive to the respective geological formation. The spatial patterns observed were efficient to evaluate the relationship between the soil porosity, geology unit and the and geomorphology showing a good potential for correlating with others soil properties such as hydraulic conductivity, soil water retention curves and erosion potentials.

Time series tendencies are an important tool for different sectors such as the scientific community, industries and environmental protection agencies who can evaluate the variability of a specific parameter in time, what is very important piece of information for establishing corrective and preventive actions. This work presents a time series model of main physical, chemical and biological parameters of the Water Quality Index (WQI) determined for different selected points of a hydrographical basin form May/2006 to Aug/2010. The statistical model Arima enabled a better understanding of the physical, chemical and biological processes that most clearly influences WQI. The Arima model allowed the assessment of the trend of several parameters used in the calculation of the WQI, showing that dissolved oxygen, turbidity, total nitrogen, and fecal E. coli were highly correlated and are the parameters that caused the index changes over time.

The national truck fleet has expanded strongly in recent decades. However, due to fluctuations in the demand that the market is exposed, it needed up making more effective strategic decisions of automakers. These decisions are made after an evaluation of guaranteed sales forecasts. This work aims to generate an annual forecast of truck production by Box and Jenkins methodology. They used annual data for referring forecast modeling from the year 1957 to 2014, which were obtained by the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea). The model used was Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) and can choose the best model for the series under study, and the ARIMA (2,1,3) as representative for conducting truck production forecast
