Coesão e coerência: discursos da linguística e da mídia

Esse trabalho analisa as refrações do discurso pedagógico que, em diálogo com outros discursos, como os da mídia e da linguística, reflete-os, além de ressignificá-los. Mais especificamente, trata-se da ressignificação que os discursos pedagógicos, postos em diálogo com os discursos da mídia, fazem de conceitos da lingüística; para essa análise tem-se como foco os conceitos de coesão e coerência, esses conceitos são critérios de avaliação dos textos. Quando retirados de suas enunciações e reutilizados nos dias de hoje, esses conceitos são ressignificados de forma a se adaptarem a novas enunciações. Como abordagem metodológica para a realização deste trabalho, tem-se uma análise qualitativa dialógica do livro de Thaís Nicoleti de Camargo, Redação linha a linha (2010) (corpus desse trabalho, que representa o discurso pedagógico). No diálogo proposto sobre os conceitos de coesão e coerência textuais pode-se perceber a ressignificação causada pela nova enunciação em que esses enunciados são reutilizados. Esse trabalho, por valer-se da análise do discurso bakhtiniana, estará sempre voltado ao conceito de diálogo, colocando os discursos em contato; partindo desse ponto, busca-se entender quais discursos dialogam com a produção do discurso pedagógico no livro analisado. Pode-se perceber, na análise dos conceitos de coesão e coerência textuais, que alguns discursos que dialogam com esses enunciados são os discursos de normatização e padronização. É possível dizer que a enunciação em que esses enunciados se produzem remete aos discursos do capitalismo, dos vestibulares, da atribuição de notas

According to data published on the World Drug Report 2012 by Unodc - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime -, the world consumes nowadays the same amount of illicit drugs that it has always consumed. Contrary to this stable consumption, discussions surrounding the issue of drugs have intensified. The greatest controversies and the largest repercussion in the Brazilian media relate to marijuana use. This paper was developed in the context of polemic issues and its general goal is to analyze the conflict of ideologies present in the discourses about drugs on printed articles released by the Brazilian media, represented here by the magazines Veja, Carta Capital and Galileu. Titanium has proven its suitability as an implant material in surgery over many years. Excellent biocompatibility and corrosion resistance are outstanding features. Implant surfaces always causes concern and interest in scientific communities, due to its close relationship with the time required for osseointegration. Surface modification can be performed by several methods, being laser irradiation one of them. Titanium implants with two different surfaces were inserted in rabbits: Group I (G-I: machined surface, control group), and group II (G-II: laser irradiated, test group) being processed 30 and 60 days after surgery for histological analysis. Surface characterization was performed with SEM-EDS, contact angle measurement, and mean roughness (Ra) parameters. Surface analysis in the GII group showed a nanomorphology affected by melt and quick solidification zones following laser irradiation (SEM), as well as total wettability and Ra mean values significantly higher than in the G-I group. The laser treatment resulted in a homogenized, porous surface, with increased surface area and volume. Histological analysis of bone-implant contact linear extension (BIC) showed better results in G-II at 30 days (39.26 ± 18.23 and 68.41 ± 13.68 for G-I and G-II groups, respectively). Titanium implants modified by laser irradiation showed important features that may accelerate early osseointegration.

Cidade média de limiar superior: um estudo a partir de Ribeirão Preto (SP)

This papper aims to discuss Ribeirão Preto as a switched-over intermediate city classification, contrastating with the concept of Metropolitan Region of Ribeirão Preto. The agribusiness sector will be analysed as the main responsible for the representation of Ribeirão Preto city as an Agribusiness Center. Due to this fact, Sertãozinho city example will be presented as Agribusiness City, where acctually concentrates the agro-industrial complex of sugarcane production, while Ribeirão Preto is in fact centralizes management activities. According to the balance of trade analysis, other elements showed up and fortifies the role of this cities. These elements unfolded the analysis of higher education guideline and shopping malls. We also analyzed the urban network of Ribeirão Preto under the concept of the Região de Influência das Cidades (REGIC) and the creation of the project Metropolitan Region of Ribeirão Preto in order to strengthen the central hypothesis as a switched-over medium sized city. Discurso e identidade feminina na mídia impressa: a evolução da mulher no mercado de trabalho

The female identity in relation to the multiplicity of roles of contemporary women and their evolution in the labor market is the focus of the work that is developed from studies of French line Discourse Analysis refered to Michel Pêcheux and Michel Foucault. The objective is to reflect on the discursive mechanisms of print media, focusing on Veja magazines covers, which, by its verbal and visual language, constructs meaning effects and disseminates certain social thruths about the female changes. Considering that this media aspect plays an important role on society's opinion formation, it is worth to investigate, analyse and describe the elements present on the covers, as seduction and persuasion objects. The work analysis material is formed by six covers published by Veja magazine in the period of 1968-2012, which raise the theme of women in the labor market and show us their evolution and the changes in the representations about the female universe and the work in society

Corpo e identidades femininas: a intermediação das mídia

This article intends to contribute to a reflection about the relationship between the body, media and femininities, thus seeking to indicate some elements in order to clarify how the media currently interferes in this relationship, especially for the construction of female identity with the presentation of styles of femininity that are part of a particular body standard. In order to do so, we present a brief bibliographical debate on media issues, identity, discourse and power, electing as empirical choices examples of print media aimed at the female segment in Brazil and Barbie dolls.

Cenário e perspectivas para a melhoria do ensino público no Brasil: mídia, cultura e educação

Thinking about improving public education in Brazil means thinking not only on what we wish to develop, skills and abilities in individuals, but understand and clearly identify the type of citizens we are devoloping and what kind of society we want for the future. In this context it is important to note that the practice in the classroom today can not be considered without regard to education steeped in culture and, therefore, in the forms of modern communication. So if there is a crisis in education, it can not be solved only within the classroom. The challenge for school education is to show students within the classroom how they will be out of school. Quality education is a blueprint for the future, to the unknown, to a world we do not know now. In this sense, to direct the education only for the labor market is a mistake, because the market is so today, but may be another in ten or fifteen years. Precisely because we do not know what are the requirements for citizens of the future, we must focus on what is essential in the formation of our youth. Is essential then to understand the ideas, learn to discuss them, argue and learn to recognize the role of technology in social and cultural evolution of mankind.
