Es tracta d'una aplicació web que permet als seus usuaris registrats reservar localitats de diferents tipus d'espectacles a través d'internet i amb total llibertat d'horaris. L'aplicació s'ha dissenyat amb tecnologia Java (servlets, JSP, beans ...) i s'ha llicenciat com a aplicació de programari lliure amb la llicència GPL.

O estudo descreveu o desenvolvimento de um curso on-line sobre o processo da administração de medicamentos - vias. Para tanto se utilizou o World Wide Web Course Tools (WebCT), que é um software que fornece várias ferramentas a supervisores e acesso a estudantes providos de uma senha a diversos ambientes. O material do curso foi subdivido em oito tópicos ilustrados: administração de medicamentos por via oral, sublingual, via parenteral, intradérmica, subcutânea, intramuscular, endovenosa e aplicação tópica e instilação, além das questões para avaliação de conhecimentos. Uma amostra de alunos de graduação da Escola de Enfermagem de Ribeirão Preto - USP avaliou positivamente o curso. Pretende-se agora inseri-lo em disciplina curricular do ensino de graduação, como um recurso adicional à aprendizagem dos alunos.

The explosive growth of Internet during the last years has been reflected in the ever-increasing amount of the diversity and heterogeneity of user preferences, types and features of devices and access networks. Usually the heterogeneity in the context of the users which request Web contents is not taken into account by the servers that deliver them implying that these contents will not always suit their needs. In the particular case of e-learning platforms this issue is especially critical due to the fact that it puts at stake the knowledge acquired by their users. In the following paper we present a system that aims to provide the dotLRN e-learning platform with the capability to adapt to its users context. By integrating dotLRN with a multi-agent hypermedia system, online courses being undertaken by students as well as their learning environment are adapted in real time

O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar os cursos de Ensino Superior Nacional de EAD por área de concentração, região geográfica, nível de formação e os cursos de EAD no ensino superior de Enfermagem. O método adotado foi um estudo exploratório descritivo em que foi realizado um levantamento nos sites e portais governamentais e não-governamentais relacionados à educação nacional e EAD das Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) que praticam EAD. Nos resultados foram identificados apenas dois cursos de pós-graduação lato sensu oferecidos especificamente em Enfermagem. Assim, há necessidade de maior investimento das IES de Enfermagem na criação e avaliação de cursos de EAD, bem como de infra-estrutura e de implementação de uma política de capacitação tecnológica.

El presente proyecto ha sido pergeñado como una aplicación que pretende resolver las dos carencias principales detectadas en los sistemas clásicos de encuestas on-line gratuitos: por un lado, resultan estáticos (en el sentido de que las encuestas no son dinámicas en función de las respuestas acumuladas) y, por otro, no ofrecen al individuo encuestado el conocimiento que necesita (como máximo devolverán información agrupada de acuerdo a los resultados globales obtenidos sin retornar un análisis comparativo del grupo frente a la del usuario).

Distance and blended collaborative learning settings are usually characterized by different social structures defined in terms of groups' number, dimension, and composition; these structures are variable and can change within the same activity. This variability poses additional complexity to instructional designers, when they are trying to develop successful experiences from existing designs. This complexity is greatly associated with the fact that learning designs do not render explicit how social structures influenced the decisions of the original designer, and thus whether the social structures of the new setting could preclude the effectiveness of the reused design. This article proposes the usage of new representations (social structure representations, SSRs) able to support unskilled designers in reusing existing learning designs, through the explicit characterization of the social structures and constraints embedded either by the original designers or the reusing teachers, according to well-known principles of good collaborative learning practice. The article also describes an evaluation process that involved university professors, as well as the main findings derived from it. This process supported the initial assumptions about the effectiveness of SSRs, with significant evidence from both qualitative and qualitative data.

El presente documento conduce a un análisis y comparativa de diferentes y variados conjuntos de redes sociales on-line. Para ello, primero se explica la base teórica de teoría de grafos para su interpretación y comprensión, así como de la base matemática que fundamenta el tipo específico de red estudiada y las diferentes métricas (estadísticas) extraídas de estas. Luego, se ofrece una detallada explicación del entorno de trabajo tanto para la aplicación informática desarrollada, como para posterior visualización y también una explicación y los algoritmos utilizados en las funciones implementadas con tales fines. Para finalizar el documento, se realiza una inmersión particular en cada red social on-line, puntualizando sus características y finalizando con una comparativa general entre todas ellas, siempre acompañadas con sus respectivas visualizaciones en el espacio 2D representadas en forma de grafo.

Cross-sectional study that used the Social Network Index and the genogram to assess the social network of 110 family caregivers of dependent patients attended by a Home Care Service in São Paulo, Brazil. Data were analyzed using the test U of Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis and Spearman correlation. Results were considered statistically significant when p<0,05. Few caregivers participated in activities outside the home and the average number of people they had a bond was 4,4 relatives and 3,6 friends. Caregivers who reported pain and those who had a partner had higher average number of relatives who to trust. The average number of friends was higher in the group that reported use of medication for depression. Total and per capita incomes correlated with the social network. It was found that family members are the primary caregiver’s social network.

RESUMO Objetivo Descrever a experiência no planejamento e desenvolvimento de um Curso de Atualização On-Line em Gerenciamento em Enfermagem destinado a enfermeiros nos contextos Brasil e Portugal. Método O desenho instrucional do Curso fundamentou-se na Teoria da Aprendizagem Significativa, na Andragogia e na Metodologia Dialética, valorizando a interação entre os atores e privilegiando os cenários de prática e a aplicação dos conceitos abordados. Resultados O Curso está estruturado em nove unidades teóricas, quatro estudos de caso e prova dissertativa. Foi avaliado positivamente pelos participantes, os quais referiram oportunidades de aquisição de novos conhecimentos; interação e intercâmbio de experiência; motivação em estudar os temas e autoaprendizagem. Conclusão Espera-se que a experiência descrita estimule a proposição de novos cursos e programas na modalidade de Educação a Distância, incrementando os processos de ensino e de aprendizagem para subsidiar análises futuras do seu impacto no desenvolvimento e no aprimoramento de competências gerenciais em enfermagem.

Diabetes has been associated to the risk of a few cancer sites, though quantification of this association in various populations remains open to discussion. We analyzed the relation between diabetes and the risk of various cancers in an integrated series of case-control studies conducted in Italy and Switzerland between 1991 and 2009. The studies included 1,468 oral and pharyngeal, 505 esophageal, 230 gastric, 2,390 colorectal, 185 liver, 326 pancreatic, 852 laryngeal, 3,034 breast, 607 endometrial, 1,031 ovarian, 1,294 prostate, and 767 renal cell cancer cases and 12,060 hospital controls. The multivariate odds ratios (OR) for subjects with diabetes as compared to those without-adjusted for major identified confounding factors for the cancers considered through logistic regression models-were significantly elevated for cancers of the oral cavity/pharynx (OR = 1.58), esophagus (OR = 2.52), colorectum (OR = 1.23), liver (OR = 3.52), pancreas (OR = 3.32), postmenopausal breast (OR = 1.76), and endometrium (OR = 1.70). For cancers of the oral cavity, esophagus, colorectum, liver, and postmenopausal breast, the excess risk persisted over 10 yr since diagnosis of diabetes. Our data confirm and further quantify the association of diabetes with colorectal, liver, pancreatic, postmenopausal breast, and endometrial cancer and suggest forthe first time that diabetes may also increase the risk of oral/pharyngeal and esophageal cancer. BACKGROUND: Citrus fruit has shown a favorable effect against various cancers. To better understand their role in cancer risk, we analyzed data from a series of case-control studies conducted in Italy and Switzerland. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The studies included 955 patients with oral and pharyngeal cancer, 395 with esophageal, 999 with stomach, 3,634 with large bowel, 527 with laryngeal, 2,900 with breast, 454 with endometrial, 1,031 with ovarian, 1,294 with prostate, and 767 with renal cell cancer. All cancers were incident and histologically confirmed. Controls were admitted to the same network of hospitals for acute, nonneoplastic conditions. Odds ratios (OR) were estimated by multiple logistic regression models, including terms for major identified confounding factors for each cancer site, and energy intake. RESULTS: The ORs for the highest versus lowest category of citrus fruit consumption were 0.47 (95% confidence interval, CI, 0.36-0.61) for oral and pharyngeal, 0.42 (95% CI, 0.25-0.70) for esophageal, 0.69 (95% CI, 0.52-0.92) for stomach, 0.82 (95% CI, 0.72-0.93) for colorectal, and 0.55 (95% CI, 0.37-0.83) for laryngeal cancer. No consistent association was found with breast, endometrial, ovarian, prostate, and renal cell cancer. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings indicate that citrus fruit has a protective role against cancers of the digestive and upper respiratory tract.

BACKGROUND: Poor tolerance and adverse drug reactions are main reasons for discontinuation of antiretroviral therapy (ART). Identifying predictors of ART discontinuation is a priority in HIV care. METHODS: A genetic association study in an observational cohort to evaluate the association of pharmacogenetic markers with time to treatment discontinuation during the first year of ART. Analysis included 577 treatment-naive individuals initiating tenofovir (n = 500) or abacavir (n = 77), with efavirenz (n = 272), lopinavir/ritonavir (n = 184), or atazanavir/ritonavir (n = 121). Genotyping included 23 genetic markers in 15 genes associated with toxicity or pharmacokinetics of the study medication. Rates of ART discontinuation between groups with and without genetic risk markers were assessed by survival analysis using Cox regression models. RESULTS: During the first year of ART, 190 individuals (33%) stopped 1 or more drugs. For efavirenz and atazanavir, individuals with genetic risk markers experienced higher discontinuation rates than individuals without (71.15% vs 28.10%, and 62.5% vs 14.6%, respectively). The efavirenz discontinuation hazard ratio (HR) was 3.14 (95% confidence interval (CI): 1.35-7.33, P = .008). The atazanavir discontinuation HR was 9.13 (95% CI: 3.38-24.69, P < .0001). CONCLUSIONS: Several pharmacogenetic markers identify individuals at risk for early treatment discontinuation. These markers should be considered for validation in the clinical setting.
