La psicogeografía cultural del desarrollo humano

El objetivo del artículo es presentar las bases teóricas y conceptuales de una disciplina a medio camino entre la psicología, la geografía y la antropología: la “psicogeografía cultural del desarrollo humano” (PCDH). Entendiendo por PCDH el estudio del desarrollo psicológico humano dentro de ciertas “geografías vitales y psicológicas” como un río, montaña o valle; una institución social como la escuela o la familia; ciertos artefactos como una bandera, un libro o un mapa; ideologías como el nacionalismo o liberalismo; relaciones sociales entre, por ejemplo, padre e hijo y ciertas actividades realizadas

Investigação qualitativa e abordagem psico-cultural do desvio [Qualitative research and psycho-cultural approaches of deviance]

Qualitative research and psycho-cultural approaches to deviant behaviour¦In this paper, the authors discuss the relevance of some historical, theoretical and¦methodological features of qualitative research for a psycho-cultural approach to¦deviance. Specifically, three methods are presented: ethnography, life stories and¦grounded theory. Some common features of these methods are: their potentialities of¦articulation with other methods, their plasticity and their procedures grounded in¦research contexts, experiences and meanings lived by participants. The role of the¦researcher, as well as the constructed and dialogical characteristics of both process¦and products of research, are also emphasised in these approaches. In this way,¦qualitative methods seem particularly adequate to a psycho-cultural approach to¦deviance, allowing the research of "hidden" phenomena and an understanding of¦deviance that takes into account its cultural norms. Thus, qualitative research is as a¦methodological device which allows to get beyond the traditional ethnocentrism of psychology.

Herança de hilo esparramado em sementes de soja

O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar a herança da expressão da característica hilo esparramado nos genótipos T48, Bragg e BR 16. Foi encontrado um gene recessivo que condiciona o fenótipo hilo esparramado no genótipo T48. A expressão do caráter hilo esparramado é dependente do locus T_ que controla cor de pubescência, pois somente ocorre em genótipos com pubescência marrom (T_), o que caracteriza efeito pleiotrópico deste locus sobre a característica hilo esparramado. Não houve influência de efeito maternal na expressão desta característica.

Black culture, white youth: la tradició cultural jamaicana al Regne Unit

Amb aquest projecte es pretén documentar tres dècades d'influència jamaicana en la cultura britànica, a partir de l’arribada del vaixell Empire Windrush al 1948, de la independència de Jamaica al 1962 i fins a finals dels anys setanta, coincidint amb l’arribada del rastafarisme. Es tracta de posar de manifest la contribució cultural i social dels jamaicans que, en gran part, ha ajudat al desenvolupament del Regne Unit.Els sound systems, els segells discogràfics i les seves subsidiàries, les gires i concerts d’artistes jamaicans... són una clara mostra de les aportacions de la comunitat jamaicana al país i que molts cops es posen de manifest amb celebracions tan populars com el famós Carnaval de Notting Hill. I és que la música i la cultura jamaicana és quelcom més del que molts es pensen, no només és Bob Marley i el consum de marihuana.

Herança de acilaçúcares em genótipos de tomateiro provenientes de cruzamento interespecífico

O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar a herança da produção de acilaçúcares em genótipos de tomateiro, em uma população segregante (F2) do terceiro retrocruzamento, para Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. 'TOM-584', a partir da espécie L. pennellii 'LA-716'. A determinação do teor de acilaçúcares foi realizada com metodologia para determinação de açúcares redutores. Os dados foram utilizados para verificação da herança monogênica, sob diferentes graus de dominância (GD) presumidos, por meio do teste qui-quadrado. Para verificar a existência de efeitos aditivos e não aditivos de um gene maior e de possíveis poligenes, utilizou-se o método da máxima verossimilhança. Para os diferentes GD testados, na faixa compreendida entre -0,7 e -0,4, a hipótese de herança monogênica não pôde ser descartada, o que indica a ação de alelo recessivo, com dominância incompleta na expressão de alto teor de acilaçúcares. Por meio de modelos genéticos pela função de verossimilhança, a hipótese de herança monogênica foi confirmada. Plantas de tomateiro, com boa resistência a artrópodos-praga, mediada pelo aleloquímico acilaçúcar, podem ser obtidas com eficiência em populações de retrocruzamentos, a partir do cruzamento interespecífico L. esculentum x L. pennellii.

Herança da senescência retardada em milho

O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar a herança da senescência retardada em milho. Foram realizados cruzamentos dialélicos parciais entre 50 linhagens e cinco testadores. Os 250 cruzamentos resultantes, além de seis híbridos comerciais utilizados como testemunhas, foram avaliados em oito ambientes, no delineamento látice simples 16x16, com duas repetições por ambiente. Os cruzamentos dialélicos foram analisados utilizando o método 4 do modelo 1 de Griffing, adaptado para múltiplos ambientes. A contribuição da capacidade geral de combinação (CGC) para a expressão do caráter "stay-green" (69,06%) foi maior que a da capacidade específica de combinação (CEC) (30,94%), evidenciando que os efeitos aditivos são mais importantes que os efeitos não aditivos na expressão deste caráter. Tanto a CGC como a CEC interagiram significativamente com o ambiente, indicando que a seleção para este caráter deve ser realizada com base nas médias de experimentos em diversos ambientes.

Cross-Cultural Adaptation and Validation of the Spinal Function Sort (SFS) for French- and German-Speaking Patients with Back Complaints

Aim: Functional subjective evaluation through questionnaire is fundamental, but not often realized in patients with back complaints, notably because of lack of validated tools, in accordance with recognized psychometric criteria. The Spinal Function Sort (SFS), developed according to actual standards, was only validated in English. The aim of this study is to translate, adapt and validate the French and German version of the SFS.Method and material: The translation and cross-cultural adaptation were performed following the methodology proposed by the American Association of Orthopedist Surgeon. A total of 344 patients, presenting varied back complaints (especially degenerative and traumatic), took part in this study in a tertiary French- (n=87; mean age 44y; 17 women) and German-speaking (n=257; mean age 41y; 53 women) center. Test-retest reliability was quantified using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and construct validity was assessed by estimating the Pearson's correlation with the SF-36 physical and mental scales, the Visual Analogue Scale for Pain Intensity (VAS), and subscales of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS).Results: Respectively for the French and German version, ICC were 0.98 and 0.94. Correlations 0.63 and 0.67 with the SF-36 Physical Functioning subscale; 0.60 and 0.52 with the SF-36 Physical Summary Scale ; -0.33 and -0.51 with the VAS ; -0.08 and 0.25 with the SF-36 Mental Health scale; 0.01 and 0.28 with the SF-36 Mental Summary Scale; -0.26 and -0.42 with the HADS depression; -0.17 and -0.45 with the HADS anxiety.Discussion: For both the French and German version of the SFS, the reliability was excellent. Convergent construct validity with SF-36 physical scales is good, moderated with the VAS. We find out a low correlation with SF-36 mental scales (divergent construct validity). We find out a low correlation with HADS subscales in the French version, and a moderate one in the German version. Selection bias, chronicity of the complaints, as well as cultural differences could explain these results. In conclusion, both the French and German version of the SFS are valid and reliable for evaluation of perceived functional capacity for patients with back complaints.

This paper presents some findings of the fieldwork of my doctoral thesis “Human Rights Educationas a Tool for Social Cohesion” of the Doctoral Program “Education and Society”The main research question that arises is: Can Human Rights Education be the departurepoint to work from, with and for the cultural diversity that characterizes our societies?Human Rights Education has been introduced in our social politics and among them ineducational policies which have a relevant role on the consecution of a cohesive society. Education,as a social right that has to be guarantee, facilitates the social change and the promotionof values and attitudes that favor cohesion.The work of several organizations like United Nations, The Council of Europe or Amnestyinternational have develop a wide variety of materials regarding human rights education atschools, guides and manuals for teachers, courses, development of competences and compendiumof activities.
