In this paper we analyze the question of character essayistic the historiography of the first half of the twentieth century. We examined this issue due to the emergence of a new trend on the historiographical colonization (School of Rio) who criticizes, among other things, the essay-like character in historiography. Whereas the criticism expressed how a new trend breaks with the existing historiography, we decided to examine this critical gauge. To promote the overcoming of a certain history is necessary to understand it in its historicity, that is, the motivations that led historians to examine the history of a given way. Of course, criticism is a moment of transcendence. But to be a radical departure is necessary to understand the historiography of historical criticism and not simply point their supposed mistakes, shortcomings and failures.

The history of historiography in recent decades has the breathing space needed in the concerns of historians and has been transformed into a research field with its own issues. Uploaded this in perspective, this paper aims to understand how aspects of the theory of history and methodology have been addressed by Afonso de Escragnolle Taunay (1876-1958). We selected the letters exchanged by the author, the speeches of acceptance at the ABL, some articles and books produced by Taunay in the 1930s. In the first decades of the twentieth century, when it sought to define the historiography and its limits in both the literature and social science sources, the subjectivity is presented as the final decision making of the author, especially those related to the new site production Taunay, the Brazilian Academy of Letters.

This paper intends to discuss the relationship between psychoanalysis and aesthetic thinking under the prism of the unbinding theory earlier conceived by the psychoanalyst Andre Green , linking it to some theories proposed by Hal Foster, art historian and art critic, where we can find the lacanian real as the linking concept. One could say, in this linkage made here, that both authors are dealing, in a very particular way, with a question that refers to the theory of the real (as it was conceived by Jacques Lacan), even in the case of Green it is not referred directly; Greens theory, however, seems to discuss some kind of a regredience that could be linked to the death drive. Accessing the psychoanalytical dispositive, and using it as it is appropriated to the (art) object to be interpreted, Foster, for example, advances in both the field of aesthetic reflection and in the more specific field of psychoanalysis. It should be noted that Fosters reflection refers strictly to the post-pop images, observed mainly in the 1990s photography. Thus, I think that this intersection between aesthetics and psychoanalysis might allow us to shed some light on a new art reading possibility towards a non-applied psychoanalytical paradigm, which, in my opinion, seems to be an appropriate way to understand some of the contemporary art production.

This text aims to address the critical essays of Osman Lins on the corpus of his works, reading and study, which consists of Portuguese textbooks adopted in schools for the teaching of the national language in the Secondary Course. More specifically, we intend to reflect on how Osman Lins analyzes the procedures adopted by the authors of these textbooks to introduce learners into Brazilian literature. Our object of study and analysis is restricted to six trials Lins published originally in 1965, the newspaper of Pernambuco University Press and later, in 1977, were collected in the form of the first chapter, titled "The Book didactic - First time: 1965 " (1977, p.13-40), the book From the Dream and Glory: Brazilian uncultural problems.

Inserting itself the symbolic disputes in defense of a film art of authentic Brazilian nuance, the activity of the critic Glauber Rocha represents a voice that demarcates the internal tensions of the field of cinema in Bahia and outlines, in the form of genesis, his most famous manifesto, An esthetic of hunger (1965). For this analysis were focused mainly two critics: Experincia Barravento: confisso sem moldura, published December 25-26, 1960, and Luz Atlntica, 1962, published in December 31, 1961.

Historiography shows that the historical moment is inscribed in the culture of every time and place. Thus, it allows us to identify within the different modes of cultural production - therefore in the literature of a particular time, our research object - expressions of historical aspects. Furthermore, it is important that we know our own history, so that such knowledge help us to learn how to build, individually and collectively, more equitable societies. The objective of this bibliographic research nature was to identify historical aspects of the nineteenth century Brazilian education printed in O Ateneu (The Athenaeum), written in 1888 by Raul Pompia. We sought for narrative passages that could reveal usual educational practices in the time context of our work in order to better understand a historical period that contributed to the establishment of our current education
