Ich' war einmal. Zu literaturwissenschaftlichen Problemhorizonten bei Subjektivität in Texten

Dieser Einführungsbeitrag versucht, literaturwissenschaftliche Problemhorizonte bei der Auseinandersetzung mit Subjektivität in Texten zu thematisieren, wie sie sich für diese Disziplin in den letzten Jahrzehnten ergeben haben. Dafür werden zum einen grundsätzliche hermeneutische 'Schwierigkeiten mit dem Ich' ins Feld geführt. Zum anderen wird versucht zu zeigen, inwiefern auch forschungs- oder disziplinsystematische Grunddispositionen und Fragestellungen zumindest für eine 'Literaturwissenschaft in einem engeren Sinn' den Umgang mit dem textuellen 'Ich' deutlich weniger populär gemacht haben als in der Geschichtswissenschaft. - Trotz einer solchermaßen in zwei Hinsichten postulierten Distanz der Literaturwissenschaft kann jedoch konzediert werden, dass jüngste literaturwissenschaftliche Positionen, etwa zur 'Rückkehr des Autors' oder zur Literaturwissenschaft als anthropologischer Disziplin, aber auch eine ständige praktische Transgression der Literaturwissenschaft hin zu genuin biographischen oder kulturgeschichtlichen Interessen die hier skizzierte Maximalskepsis immer wieder relativieren.

The book Lingua e diritto: Livelli di analisi brings together contributions by scholars from different fields: anthropology, theory and philosophy of law, comparative law, European law, translation, discourse analysis, pragmatics, morpho-syntax and cognitive linguistics. Contributions deal with a number of issues situated at the interface between language and law: questions of meaning and the interpretation of legal texts, the nature of legal interpretation, problems of ambiguity and vagueness in legal texts, the characteristics of legal language, legal terminology and the multilingualism of European law. As a whole, the book provides insights into a number of different topics and perspectives situated at the interface between language and law. It is of interest both to lawyers and linguists as a valuable and very welcome contribution to the field of legal linguistics.

Preservation and representation of human bones and it's importance for anthropological Analysis - an introduction

This paper presents problems arising from the lack of standardized methods for recording skeletal remains. Using practical examples it is shown how preservation and representation of bones can distort observations and how this can be reduced by systematic data acquisition.

Investigations on an egyptian coffin and mummified head from Burgdorf Museum, Switzerland - A case of a historical puzzle

In the Burgdorf Museum of Ethnology, a mummy rests in a coffin. According to the inventory book, it was purchased from the Cairo Egyptian museum in 1926. The coffin was now examined by Egyptologists and the mummy was radiocarbon dated and examined by Anthropologists. The aim of the study was to compare the results and to check whether mummy and coffin actually belong together. The skull was examined morphological-anthropologically and by CT as a “blank sample”. Coffin and skull imply that the individual was female. The coffin dates to the Ptolemaic period. Only skull bones are preserved, the ethmoid is damaged. CT images Show resinous substances, bone fragments and brain remnants inside the skull. The ethmoid bone was probably foraminated during the mummification process and thus ended up inside the skull. The individual was mummified between the New Kingdom and the Ptolemaic period. Due to its style, it is most probable that the coffin comes from the Gamhud necropolis. The Burgdorf museum of ethnology inventory book chronicles were largely falsified by the examinations. There is a time gap between coffin and the mummy, there are two possible interpretations: the body was mummified with older linen, or the mummy and the coffin do not belong together. The authors strongly advise further investigations.
