This paper considers two Colleges designed by the nineteenth century architect William Wardell (1823-99): St John’s College, within the University of Sydney (1858-59) and Convent and School, Kew, now known as Genazzano FCJ College Kew, Melbourne (1889). The approach of significant anniversaries for each of the Colleges has been the major impetus behind the current research. Both commissions demonstrate laudable aspirations; difficulty in comprehending and realising the design; partial completions and accretions over time which testify to changes in economic fortune and taste; inappropriate additions; and decades of neglect fuelled by a general misunderstanding of the 19th century for much of the 20th century. At the beginning of the 21st century conservation management plans were commissioned independently for both projects. Using the two Colleges as case studies, this paper examines tradition and its transformation, design and its translation, heritage and its significance.

Parametric modelling is gaining in popularity as both a fabrication and design tool, but its application in the architectural design industry has not been widely explored. This form of modelling has the ability to generate complex forms with intuitively reactive components, allowing designers to express and
fabricate structures previously too laborious and geometrically complex to realise. The key aim of the paper is to address the increasing need for seamless and bi-directional connectivity between the design, modelling and
fabrication ambit.

The so-called "literary debate" in Greek, Latin and many Near Eastern
languages is a well-developed genre. In his 1987 article, Geert Jan van Gelder surveyed its background more than adequately, 1 and very few details of that paper need to be repeated here. He assessed thoroughly the historical contribution of numerous poets to the relationship between "the sword and the pen," and also analyzed various aspects of this relationship in a few prose texts.

This paper will explore the 150 year evolution of identifying and managing Queensland’s heritage places, geographic entities with politically sanctioned protection. It will examine Queensland events in the intercolonial, interstate, national and international context; and it will note the key players and organisations in securing this protection both through public campaigns and through legislation.

This conceptual paper aims to contribute to current services marketing, service-dominant logic and co-creation literature by investigating the co-creation of experiences and conceptualizing it in terms of three dimensions. A conceptual model is developed in the context of the heritage sector, with each of the three proposed dimensions discussed in-depth.

This theoretically innovative anthology investigates the problematic linkages between conserving cultural heritage, maintaining cultural diversity, defining and establishing cultural citizenship, and enforcing human rights.

It is the first publication to address the notions of cultural diversity, cultural heritage and human rights in one volume. Heritage provides the basis of humanity’s rich cultural diversity. While there is a considerable literature dealing separately with cultural diversity, cultural heritage and human rights, this book is distinctive and has contemporary relevance in focusing on the intersection between the three concepts. Cultural Diversity, Heritage and Human Rights establishes a fresh approach that will interest students and practitioners alike and on which future work in the heritage field might proceed.
