The traditional model of learning based on knowledge transfer doesn't promote the acquisition of information-related competencies and development of autonomous learning. More needs to be done to embrace learner-centred approaches, based on constructivism, collaboration and co-operation. This new learning paradigm is aligned with the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) requirements. In this sense, a learning experience based in faculty' librarian collaboration was seen as the best option for promoting student engagement and also a way to increase information-related competences in Open University of Catalonia (UOC) academic context. This case study outlines the benefits of teacher-librarian collaboration in terms of pedagogy innovation, resources management and introduction of open educational resources (OER) in virtual classrooms, Information literacy (IL) training and use of 2.0 tools in teaching. Our faculty-librarian's collaboration aims to provide an example of technology-enhanced learning and demonstrate how working together improves the quality and relevance of educational resources in UOC's virtual classrooms. Under this new approach, while teachers change their role from instructors to facilitators of the learning process and extend their reach to students, libraries acquire an important presence in the academic learning communities.

In this paper we study network structures in which the possibilities for cooperation are restricted and can not be described by a cooperative game. The benefits of a group of players depend on how these players are internally connected. One way to represent this type of situations is the so-called reward function, which represents the profits obtainable by the total coalition if links can be used to coordinate agents' actions. The starting point of this paper is the work of Vilaseca et al. where they characterized the reward function. We concentrate on those situations where there exist costs for establishing communication links. Given a reward function and a costs function, our aim is to analyze under what conditions it is possible to associate a cooperative game to it. We characterize the reward function in networks structures with costs for establishing links by means of two conditions, component permanence and component additivity. Finally, an economic application is developed to illustrate the main theoretical result.

In the wake of the success of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networking, security has arisen as one of its main concerns, becoming a key issue when evaluating a P2P system. Unfortunately, some systems' design focus targeted issues such as scalabil-ity or overall performance, but not security. As a result, security mechanisms must be provided at a later stage, after the system has already been designed and partially (or even fully) implemented, which may prove a cumbersome proposition. This work exposes how a security layer was provided under such circumstances for a specic Java based P2P framework: JXTA-Overlay.

El projecte defineix un carrer interior tangent a lâedifici del pavelló per on es produeix lâentrada i per on sâatravessa visualment lâedifici, de manera que la façana del pavelló te continuïtat cap a lâinterior de la llar dâinfants. Perpendicularment es disposa lâespai del vestíbul que articula els espais de circulació i dona sortida i visuals al pati de jocs. Les zones de pas tenen una alçada inferior a la de les altres àrees per lògica dâus i per donar claredat volumètrica a lâedifici. Lâentrada es produeix per una rampa, sota un voladís que a lâhora recull lâescletxa oberta a la façana del pavelló per ilâ¢luminar lâàrea administrativa. Lâaltre extrem del carrer és una sortida dâemergència. En una visió general sâobserva que el pla de façana del pavelló fa de suport a dos volums que entren en relació: la rampa dâaccés al pavelló i la coberta del carrer interior de la llar dâinfants. Pel que fa a les alçades, el conjunt manté el criteri de donar major alçada als espais principals (pista i aules) respecte els dâaccés. Pel que fa a la forma, el cos dâaules adopta la coberta plana per entrar en relació amb lâhoritzontalitat de la visera de la façana principal del pavelló i no la forma corba perquè lâescala del cos dâaules no admet aquesta solució. Sâenfatitzaria al màxim la percepció de conjunt si les cobertes de les aules i del pavelló fossin igualment inclinades. Les dependències sâorganitzen en dues àrees: Lâàrea administrativa es colâ¢loca sota el forjat que defineix el projecte del pavelló. Atès que lâalçada lliure interior és de 3.00 m., i per tal de poder garantir ilâ¢luminació i ventilâ¢lació natural a aquestes peces, es proposa baixar la cota de tota la llar dâinfants 80 cm. respecte la cota del carrer. Consta d'una sala de reunions propera al vestíbul, un despatx per la direcció del centre uns vestidors amb bany per al personal i una sala d'usos múltiples. Lâàrea dâactivitats es colâ¢loca separada del pavelló, definint un volum independent, tant en planta com en secció. Consta de 3 aules de 20 alumnes que donen resposta a les necessitats plantejades pel programa. Aquestes sâobren generosament al pati de jocs buscant la llum de nord i per la part superior amb una obertura molt més controlada tenen la llum del sud. Això permet ilâ¢luminar i ventilâ¢lar de forma creuada. El tram de carrer interior davant de les aules es converteix en una zona de jocs comuna.
