Ledger for the Classes of 1703-1718, 1703-1731

The parchment-bound hardcover folio volume contains accounts for Fellows, Tutors, the President, and members of the Classes of 1703-1718. Payments were often made with bills of credit, money, and notes. The Steward's accounts with the College are interspersed in the volume.

Audited accounts, 1713-1745

The parchment-bound hardcover folio volume contains the Steward's accounts with the College from March 20, 1712/13 through August 9, 1745. The accounts are arranged as Harvard College's debits to the Steward with entries listing the Steward's expenses for students, salaries, and provisions and equipment, and the Steward's credits collected from the quarterly bills, arranged by type of charge (such as study rent, payments from the Butler, and repairs).

Ledger for the Classes of 1795-1804, 1795-1804

The leather bound folio account book kept by Steward Caleb Gannett contains accounts for members of the Classes of 1795-1804, as well as accounts for President Joseph Willard, Tutors, Fellows, and Faculty. The volume also contains the Steward's accounts with the Harvard Treasurer, as well as his "Cash" accounting. The volume does not have the detailed transaction descriptions found in earlier ledgers; both Credit and Debit entries are described as being paid by, or being owed to, cash, balance, sundry accounts, or the Treasury.

Handwritten one-page letter from J. Warren to Caleb Gannett about the charges in a quarter bill received by Warren's son. J. Warren is likely James Warren (1726-1808, Harvard AB 1745), referring to the quarter bill of his son Charles Warren (1762–1784, Harvard AB 1782).

Handwritten receipt signed by James Winthrop acknowledging money received from the Steward, also signed by Steward Jonathan Hastings. A handwritten transcription of the Corporation vote on December 10, 1772 granting money for caring for the College Library since May 1, 1772, is signed by President Samuel Locke on other side of the document.

Tutors grants for £77.8.4, 1773

Handwritten receipt signed by Joseph Willard, John Marsh, John Marsh, Andrew Eliot Jr., John Wadsworth, and S. Hall acknowledging money received between August 20th and 23rd, 1773. A handwritten transcription of the Corporation vote on September 7, 1772 that, "the Tutors be allowed in addition to their salary twenty pounds," is signed as a true copy by President Samuel Locke at the beginning of the document.
