Caracterização das falhas de transferência na porção norte da Bacia de Santos a partir da integração de dados geológicos e geofísicos

Structures transverse/sub-transverse to the shoreline have been identified and characterized on the precambrian basement outcrop on the continent adjacent to the northern Santos Basin. These structures were analyzed from images of digital elevation model SRTM 90m by extracting NW-SE lineaments that intersect the NE-SW foliation. The lineaments were selected, classified into 48 segments that extend toward offshore, and correlated with basin structures. In the basin 25 2D seismic sections, 12 well logs and data from potential methods were interpreted, identifying the key stratigraphic levels and the major structures. Structural maps of each horizon were generated. Six transfer faults (FTs) were recognized and named FT-1 to FT-6, whose extensions correspond to continental lineaments named FC1 to FC6. The FTs are related to the basin deformation and evolution. In seismic sections, these faults have lateral slip in flower structures, displacement inversions from normal at the top to reverse at the base, abrupt changes in thickness or even disappearance of the seismic reflectors. The structural map of the Basement and Top of the Rift shows control of some depocenters by faults and displacements in some areas. The maps of potential methods indicate that there are pronounced anomaly shifts in some areas, associated with FTs. Some seismic sections indicate reactivation of FTs when they intersect horizons from the basement until the most recent layers. The 3D integration of data facilitated the observation of the FT extensions in the continent discontinuity.

Qualidade fisiológica de sementes de Brachiaria e avaliação da produtividade de massa seca em diferentes sistemas de integração lavoura-pecuária sob irrigação

The speed and magnitude of tropical pastures expansion in Brazil are related to the availability of quality seeds. This research aimed to evaluate the physiological quality of seeds of two Brachiaria species submitted to germination and viability tests and also estimate, for both species, the fresh and dry mass yield, under different irrigated crop-livestock integration systems. For field analysis, the experimental design was a randomized complete block, in subplots, with four intercrops in the plot (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu and Brachiaria ruziziensis simultaneously established with corn and nitrogen fertilization coverage), and four forage cutting times, in the winter/spring season, in subplots, with four replications. In the laboratory, the experimental design was completely randomized, with four replications per treatment/test. The germination and viability tests indicated that B. brizantha seeds showed higher physiological quality, when compared with B. ruziziensis, while the tetrazolium test and germinated seedlings characteristics were similar. The B. ruziziensis, simultaneously intercropped with corn, was the less viable intercrop, due to the lower fresh and dry mass yield and litter deposition on the soil surface. In general, the pasture formation for the second season cultivation, intercropped with corn, was an excellent alternative for crop-livestock integration under a no-tillage system.

Políticas de competitividade no Brasil e seu impacto no processo de integração no MERCOSUL

Os esforços para construir o MERCOSUL, até o presente momento, tem sido restritos, em grande medida, à dimensão comercial do processo de integração. Em particular, as iniciativas destinadas a promover alguma forma de integração produtiva e a fortalecer a dimensão regional das cadeias de produção têm sido muito tímidas e raras vezes ultrapassaram o estágio da declaração de objetivos. O presente documento propõe-se a contribuir para esse objetivo, apresentando de forma sintética os principais mecanismos vigentes no Brasil, de apoio aos produtores, passíveis de serem caracterizados como expressões, articuladas ou não, de uma política de competitividade.

Evaluación de la calidad de hogares de ancianos: el caso del Servicio de Salud Metropolitano Oriente, Santiago, Chile

El trabajo es parte de un estudio para la evaluación integral de los hogares de ancianos en la jurisdicción geográfica de los servicios de salud de la Región Metropolitana, de la V y VI regiones de Chile. Presenta los resultados de la evaluación implementada en el Servicio de Salud Metropolitano Oriente,cuya población es una de las más envejecidas del país. La presentación y análisis se estructuran en torno a tres ejes centrales: a) la evaluación de la dependencia física y psíquica de los 2.454 personas residentes en los hogares de ancianos (p. 57), basada en el instrumento elaborado por F. Kuntzman; b) evaluación de los 123 establecimientos en términos de los recursos físicos, materiales y humanos, los procedimientos y actividades (p. 62); c) evaluación de las actitudes hacia la vejez a partir de la escala de D. Stefani y N.R. Feijó (p. 67).

Análises técnicas e econômicas no sistema de integração lavoura-pecuária submetido à adubação nitrogenada

Sustainable agriculture, reduced production costs and adding value to the system are achieved through the use of agricultural areas throughout the year, in integrated or mixed system. The study aimed to determine the technical coefficients to estimate and evaluate the operational cost and profitability indicators of the consortium of corn with two species of Brachiaria (B. brizantha, MG-5 and B. ruziziensis). The crops were submitted to N rates (0, 100, 200, 300 e 400kg ha-1year-1) at sidedressing, using urea, and winter common bean in succession, in crop-livestock integration under no-tillage, in irrigated conditions, in 2008/2009 agricultural year in Cerrado region (Selvíria - MS). The experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with four replications in a 2 x 5factorial. It was concluded thatcathe inputs were the components that most increased the producing cost of corn and common bean in the ILP study. The total operational cost has increased as a function of increasing doses of N. In all treatments the levels of profitability were positive indicating the viability of the system. The treatment that showed the best technical and economic performance was intercropped with corn and B. brizantha, fertilized with 100kg ha-1year-1N and common bean in succession.
