HG 230.75-230.85 Thin Section

Coarse grained sediment with fine grained domains, clay material, rotation structures and lineations. Clasts range from sub-angular to sub-rounded. Mainly brown sediment with darker patches of brown throughout. Major amounts of grain crushing can be seen in the coarse grained material.

HG 240.0-240.10 Thin Section

Dark brown sediment with sub-angular to rounded clasts. Contained areas of darker clay material. Contains rotation structures, mainly around rounded clasts. One side of the sample had significantly larger clasts than the other. Two different domains can be seen in this sample; a fine grained domain and a coarse grained domain.

HG 246.30-246.45 Thin Section

Generally coarse grained, with a few different fine grained domains. Clasts range from small to large, ranging from sub-angular to sub-rounded in shape. Domain boundaries are clear, and the sample also contains rotation structures and lineations.

HG 249.40-249.55 Thin Section

Coarse grained sample with clasts ranging from small to medium. Clast shape ranges from angular to sub-angular. Lineations and rotation structures seen. Clay material and fine grained domains (darker colour) also seen.

HG 268.40-268.55 Thin Section

This is a coarse grained sample with some very fine grained domains throughout the sample. The clast shape and size range from small to large, as well as angular to sub-rounded. Grain crushing is the most prevalent in this sample. It also contains some rotation structures and minor necking structures. Lineations and grain stacking can also be seen.

HG 295.70-295.80 Thin Section

This sample contains two different domains; a coarse grained domain with well dispersed clasts, and a fine grained domain that potentially contains organics. The coarser grained domain contains comet structures, lineations and minor rotation without a central grain.

HG 303.85-303.95

This is a dark grey, coarse grained sediment with inclusions of fine grained sand. Lineations and grains stacking are the most common features seen, along with grain crushing (mainly edge-to-edge). A few minor rotation structures can also be observed with comet structures.

HG 316.65-316.80

Fine grained, dark brown sediment. Minor amounts of lineations can be seen. Faint water escape structures are also abundant.

HG 338.70-338.80

Dark greyish-brown sediment with clasts ranging from small to large in size. Clasts are sub-angular to sub-rounded in shape. Fine grained domains can be seen scattered throughout the sample. The sample also contains comet structures, lineations, and minor amounts of rotation structures within the coarser domain.

HG 362.70-362.80

Multiple domains are present. Clasts range from small to large in size and sub-angular to sub-rounded in shape. The fine grained domain is dark brown with some lineations and organic material. The coarse grained domain is grey in colour and contains mainly lineations and rotation structures. Some comet structures can also be seen.

HG 421.15-421.25

Brown sediment with a coarse grained domain and a fine grained domain. The coarse grained domain contains clasts that are small to medium in size. The clast shape ranges from sub-angular to sub-rounded. The coarse grained domain is abundant in lineations. The fine grained domain contains many faint water escape structures. A few rotation structures can also be seen throughout the sample.

HG 149.70-149.85

Brown sediment with clasts ranging from small to medium in size. Clast shape ranges from angular to rounded. Lineations and grain crushing are abundant throughout the sample. This sample also includes several inclusions of darker and fine grained domains. Comet structures can also be seen in some areas of the sample.

HG 168.50-168.60

Brown sediment with three main domains; two different fine grained domains and one coarse grained domain. The fine grained domains can be distinguished based on the abundance of organic material (darker). Both domains contain lineations. The coarse grained domain contains clasts ranging from small to medium in size and angular to rounded in shape. Rotation structures, lineations and comet structures can be seen in this domain. It also contains some fractured grains.

HG 182.65-182.75

Light brown sediment with clasts ranging from small to medium in size. The clast shape ranges from sub-angular to sub-rounded. Rotation structures can commonly be seen, along with some comet structures as well. A few lineations and edge-to-edge grain crushing can also be observed. There is also the inclusion of a fine grained domain that is a darker brown (tanned-brown).
