Iowa Communications Network Fiscal Year 2010 Annual Report

Use of ICN’s Internet and data services have continued to increase exponentially, which reflects the capacity needed for greater access to high-speed Internet (Broadband). Users are incorporating more web-based applications, which uses larger amounts of bandwidth; such as transmitting hospital MRIs, video streaming, and web-based systems.

Iowa Department of Transportation Fiscal Year 2010 Report of Savings by Using Video Conferencing Through Iowa Communications Network to the Iowa General Assembly Pursuant to Iowa Code § II 84 Acts and Joint Resolutions Enacted at the 1994 Regular Session of the 75th General Assembly of the State of Iowa

Introduction and summary Iowa Code § 8D.10 requires certain state agencies to prepare an annual report to the General Assembly certifying the identified savings associated with that state agency’s use of the Iowa Communications Network (ICN). This report covers estimated cost savings related to video conferencing via ICN for the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT). In FY 2010, the DOT did not conduct any sessions utilizing ICN’s video conferencing system. Therefore, no cost savings were calculated for this report.

Iowa Department on Aging Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Annual Report 2010 (Federal Fiscal Year October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010), January 2011.

The State Long-Term Care Ombudsman program operates as a unit within the Iowa Department on Aging. Duties of all long-term care ombudsmen are mandated by the Older Americans Act. This office serves people living in nursing facilities, skilled nursing facilities, residential care facilities, nursing facilities in hospitals, elder group homes and assisted living programs. In order to carry out all of the mandates of the Older Americans Act this office recommends to increase the number of local long-term care ombudsman, develop a volunteer long-term care ombudsman program, clarify the definition of assisted living in Iowa, expand the long-term care ombudsman program into home and community based services, and reinstate the Iowa Office of Substitute Decision Maker.

La reforma del dret de successions i la prescripció a Alemanya

Els canvis socials, i, en particular, les noves formes d¿organització familiar, han dut a una modificació del Dret de successions a Alemanya, especialment, pel que fa la regulació de la llegítima. La reforma segueix les pautes marcades en la Sentencia del BVerfG de 19 d'abril de 2005, que considera que la llegítima dels descendents és un dret constitucionalment protegit i, per tant, per regla general el testador no la pot excloure, ni fer-la dependre de la situació de necessitat del legitimari. Altres modificacions afecten a la prescripció de les pretensions familiars i successòries.
