In the contemporary literature on Foreign Language Teaching (LE/L2), is evidence of a trend in education given priority from the sub-focus on socio-cultural competence (HYMES, 1972), mainly with the aim of developing the intercultural competence, that is, the power to know the differences between the culture of the new language and the language in concrete situations and to develop strategies to deal comprehensively with the customs of another culture (Rozenfeld & Vianna, 2011). This process seeks to bring people to a critical analysis of their own language and culture, the concept of otherness and the similarities and differences between nations (MOTTA ROTH, 2003). Under the didactic-pedagogical approach multiculturalism, there is the need to develop new educational proposals and to include studies and researches about this subject in the curricula of teacher education courses. Politically, the proposals of the "Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (PCNs)" in Brazil emphasize as targets to be established for the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE), on average, target content and teaching strategies to develop, in addition to communicative competence, competition also "inter (multi) culture" (BRASIL, 2000). Thus, this paper analyzes the reports of pre-service teachers in the course of Teaching Practice of Spanish Language, the presence of cultural and intercultural approach, verifying didactic-pedagogical treatment that is being expressed in projects and materialized in practices of ELE classroom, in the interior of São Paulo / Brazil.

The present research, of a qualitative nature, aimed to check possible changes in the relations between pairs after the implantation of a work with children’s literature. The work was part of a teacher training project whose proposal is the deployment of a cooperative sociomoral environment in the classroom. The sample was composed of 250 students (boys and girls) 7-10 years, students of elementary school I in municipal education networks in São Paulo State. The method used was the application of a questionnaire in two stages: the pre-test, prior to the implementation of the project, and the post-test, carried out with the children after the end of the work. By means the questionnaire, that contained questions on three main themes – friendships at school, the systematic group work and the feelings expressed with respect to the school –, the children were asked about the quality of the relations between pairs. The data obtained have gone through a quantitative and qualitative analysis, being statistically proven. Eventually, the results of the two stages of the questionnaire were compared, indicating a better quality in interpersonal relations experienced in school after the implementation of the work with children’s literature.

Changes in lipid profile are considered a risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD), especially in postmenopausal woman who have been associated with age-related loss of muscle mass. The beneficial role of aerobic exercise in the prevention of CVD has been well documented. However, the effect of strength training has not been established. The purpose of this study was to determine the changes of lipoprotein levels after 12 weeks of different volumes of strength training and its correlation with strength and muscle volume in postmenopausal women. The participants were randomized into three groups: low volume (LVST; n = 12, 1 set) and high volume of strength training (HVST; n = 11, 3 sets), or control group (n = 12). Training groups performed 12 weeks of supervised strength exercises, 15 maximum repetitions, five times a week, 20 minutes for LVST and 40 minutes for HVST for each training session. Measurements included body composition, strength and muscle volume, as well as blood analysis (glucose, total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein, and high-density lipoprotein) pre- and post-training. The HVST and LVST improved the one-repetition maximum knee extension strength (p < 0.001), maximal dynamic strength (p < 0.001), and muscle volume (p = 0.048). Post-training triglyceride was lower in HVST when compared to LVST and the control group (p = 0.047). Even though they present the same neuromuscular and morphological adaptations in postmenopausal women, the HVST is more effective than LVST in improving the lipid profile of postmenopausal woman, and can be considered as an ideal program of intervention to reverse changes in lipid metabolism commonly found in this group. This paper intends to reflect on the search, in the process of teaching formation, of pre-defined contents for the teaching of Geography and History in the series of primary school. This desire for clarity about the appropriated contents for the various series often overshadows the real need to clarify what is the goal of teaching this or that content. It is necessary, in the teacher training, resume and historically contextualize this search for curriculum contents. The risk of prioritizing the discussion about contents is transforming the contents itself into the content goals of education. Reifying the contents contributes to the common process of disconnect teaching from learning. In this case, the educational process becomes a contest of teaching contents, not bothering if these contents were or not learned by the students, which makes education extremely conservative. This phenomenon has it origins in the 1970s, during the curriculum discussions of the various areas of school knowledge. Since then, the concept of didactic transposition has been questioned progressively, in which the curricula were designed as adapted teaching to lower levels of scientific knowledge produced in universities – the place for higher education. The school knowledge, since the 1970s, is considered as autonomous. In other words, knowledge in dialogue with university science, but with typical characteristics of education in school systems. If the curriculum of primary and secondary educations is not the result of the didactic transposition, what content it should be made of? The current paper touches this issue, but subordinates it to most relevant questions about the purposes of learning in inseparable connection with teaching.

The current research compared resting heart rate variability (VFC) before and after 10 weeks of strength training in groups that used and did not use a vibration platform. Seventeen healthy men were divided into conventional strength training (TF) or strength training using a vibration platform with a frequency of 30 Hz (TF+V30) training groups. One repetition maximum load (1-RM) on half squat exercise and VFC measurements were determined pre- and post-training program. Both groups had improved 1-RM load after the program (15.1% in TF group and 16.4% in TF+V30 group), although this increase was changed in the same extent for the two groups and there was no difference in 1-RM load between groups pre- and post-training program. No significant difference was observed in resting VFC measurements between groups pre and post-training program, however the magnitude of the effect size was moderated (ES = 0.50-0.80) for some variables (R-R interval, standard deviation of all R-R interval - SDNN, RMSSD, log-transformed of low frequency - InLF, and log-transformed of high frequency - InHF) in TF+V30 group. It was concluded that 10 weeks of strength training program with or without the vibration platform provided similar increase in 1-RM load in both groups, and although some evidences in this study indicate that vibration can increase vagal activity analyzed by ES, in neither groups the strength training was able to change VFC significantly.
