Secretary of State, Michael Mauro is pleased to present the Iowa Citizen Civic Handbook. As the Commissioner of Elections and State registrar of Voters, it's my his goal to establish educational programs to improve and increase voter awareness and participation. This handbook will assist all Iowans of diverse cultures in becoming more knowledgeable about the benefits and responsibilities of citizenship ans serve as a useful tool for all Iowans.

Com a abertura democrática em Cabo Verde em 1991 e a consequente liberalização do sector da comunicação social, surge no espaço social cabo-verdiano jornais privados que pese embora ancorados em ideologias partidárias, trouxeram à esfera pública nacional discussões sobre a cidadania e as questões dos direitos humanos, numa década em que devido a pressões internacionais, tais preocupações entram nas agendas governamentais dos países africanos. Tendo como postos de observação os semanários “A Semana” e “Expresso das Ilhas”, no período 2008/2009, pretende-se compreender as dinâmicas da imprensa escrita no que toca às questões dos Direitos Humanos num contexto em que o Estado, agente a que normalmente é atribuído o papel de proteger e promover os direitos humanos, é frequentemente o próprio agente violador.

In addition, the state influenza coordinator tracks the number of deaths due to pneumonia and influenza in Des Moines weekly as part of the 122-Cities Morbidity and Mortality reporting system sponsored by CDC.
