Tratamento cirúrgico de canino incluso em mento: relato de caso

The mandibular and maxillary canines when well positioned in the arch, are important functionally and aesthetically. Although these teeth are frequently malpositioned in the dental arch, their absence of eruption are not common, occuring more frequently with the maxillary canine than the mandibular canine. The canine transmigration is a well-known pre eruptive phenomenon in which the tooth goes thru the facial midline, occurring more frequently in the mandible than in maxila. Females are more susceptible than males and the right side more than the left one. Normally the patients do not show any symptoms, and this condition is observed during radiographic exams to diagnose the late exfoliation of the deciduous canine or for any other purpose. Due to the relationship between impacted canines and pathologic lesions, infection, trauma to the adjacent teeth, pain, ectopic eruption and interference with prosthesis, it´s indicated the surgical extraction of these teeth. The goal of this article is to describe and discuss the surgical treatment of an impacted canine (43) in the chin.

Gestão de resíduos sólidos no município de Tibagi - PR: desempenho da coleta seletiva

The objective of this study was to analyze the performance of solid waste management in the municipality of Tibagi, Paraná, a city with approximately 20000 inhabitants, which implemented the selective collection program called Recycle Tibagi. The analysis was based on descriptive statistical techniques, considering the three types of waste (tailings, organic and recyclable), and per capita generation of garbage upward trend in the coming years, based on the method of Winter (Triple Exponential Damping), using data recorded by the Department of the Environment and the Association of Recyclable Materials from Tibagi - ACAMARTI. Efficient selective collection from a structured environmental education program with constant training conducted with the scavengers, possible to obtain important data in sorting and marketing of recyclable materials, saving raw materials, water and energy, as well as relevant indicators social inclusion and employment generation and income. The project involves several areas of municipal management and arouses curiosity and interest in several areas: social, financial, environmental and administrative. It's a way to encourage new projects and public bodies, highlighting the importance of recycling and proper disposal of solid waste.

Estudo de propriedades da resina acrílica termoativada por energia de micro-ondas frente às variações nos procedimentos de inclusão

On heat cured acrylic resins by microwaves energy the action of electromagnetic waves on methylmethacrylate promote the polymerization process. However, part of this energy is absorbed by the gypsum present in the flask and the function of this gypsum is to maintain the characteristics of specimen, nevertheless is unknown in the literature as the amount of water present in this gypsum affects the characteristics of acrylic resin. The proposal of this study was verified if dried gypsum influenced in some properties of the acrylic resins thermally activated by microwaves: presence of porosity, microhardness, roughness, flexural strength and dimensional change. Two different types of acrylic resin for complete denture were utilized: Lucitone 550 e Vipi-Wave and groups were formed: Lucitone 550, polymerization by microwave energy without gypsum treatment; Lucitone 550, polymerization by microwave energy with pretreatment gypsum; Vipi-Wave by microwave energy without gypsum treatment; Vipi Wave, polymerization by microwave energy with pretreatment gypsum; Lucitone 550 control group polymerization in hot water bath. For both situations were performed analysis of microhardness and porosity three different metallic shaped specimens were formed with followed dimensions: 2,0x2,0x2,0cm (8cm3); 2,0x2,0x1,0 (4cm3) e 2,0x2,0x0,5 (2cm3). Standardized wax specimens was used to prepare groups (n=9) and included in glass fiber flasks. The gypsum dry was made by microwave oven cycle (10min and 600W) and then the flasks were maintained in dry oven during two hours. Polymerizations of specimens were made and then polished. Wax patterns #7 obtained from the metal were embedded in plastic flask and following the processes of pressing and polymerization of the resin according to established groups. Inclusão e exclusão na velhice: a (des) construção de identidades sociais

O presente trabalho de conclusão de curso propõe a discussão sobre o processo de construção da identidade do idoso levando em consideração as representações sociais veiculadas pela mídia e as expectativas e sentimentos dos idosos. A pesquisa tem como objetivo identificar as representações sociais sobre a terceira idade que circulam nos variados meios de comunicação; analisar as representações sociais sobre o idoso, os estereótipos, tanto os antigos (onde o idoso era considerado apenas um peso para as famílias) como os novos (o idoso atleta e descolado que busca a eterna juventude); compreender o significado do conceito de 'terceira idade' e o significado que essa expressão tenta ocultar; compreender os mecanismos de inclusão e exclusão do idoso nas ações da sociedade cível e pública; entender o quanto a convivência entre diferentes origens e diferentes gerações pode ser benéfico pra ambos os lados usando como base minha experiência no PEJA, assim como a busca do ideal do ser idoso, o idoso real, humano, referência de experiência, que ensina e também aprende, respeitado como pessoa sem mais ser considerado como apenas um número de estatística. A pesquisa também contará com uma revisão bibliográfica sobre os processos de construção identitária, representações sociais, influência dos meios de comunicação e terceira idade, com ênfase nas representações expressas na publicidade

Inclusão escolar de crianças com necessidades educacionais especiais: levantamento bibliográfico de teses, dissertações e trabalhos de conclusão de curso no acervo online da UNESP

Essa pesquisa teve como objetivo discutir e analisar a questão da inclusão escolar tendo em vista explorar a produção acadêmica a respeito da temática a fim de comparar as tendências metodológicas de estudo e relatar as evoluções históricas ao longo desde a década de 90. Para isso, o presente trabalho está estruturado em três capítulos: o primeiro uma breve retrospectiva histórica cultural entre deficientes, escola e a sociedade; o segundo sobre a formação continuada e inicial do professor inclusivo e o terceiro descreve os resultados do levantamento bibliográfico realizado na base de dados online da UNESP, considerando trabalhos de conclusão de curso, dissertações e teses defendidas entre 1990 e 2013. Os dados coletados foram analisados qualitativamente, com alguns resultados quantitativos. Após a coleta de dados, os trabalhos foram analisados com base nos seguintes critérios: objetivos, local da pesquisa, tipo de delineamento, instituto onde o trabalho foi apresentado, principais resultados, instrumentos e tipos de participantes (quando configurar uma pesquisa empírica). Pretendeu-se verificar, se existe uma tendência na metodologia de trabalhos científicos em relação a esse tema, de pesquisas mais de cunho bibliográfico ou empírico, dado a sua complexidade

Condutas terapêuticas para caninos inclusos

Normally, the last teeth to erupt are the ones which remain impacted or semi-impacted, and that is the case of the canines. This study aimed to report a few options of treatment, aiming at esthetic and functional maintenance of the affected area before a impacted canine, discussing its indications, contraindications, advantages and disadvantages. This study also aims to emphasize the accessibility the patient would have in case his/her option were one of the approached ways of treatment. In order to identify the studies included or analyzed in this review, a detailed search strategy was performed for the database used: Pubmed, Bireme, Scielo, Cochrane, and Dentistry Oral Science up to 2011. We used non-erupted teeth, canine, and therapeutics as descriptors. The criteria of inclusion were clinical and review articles that approached the theme. Through this review, it was found that the surgeon dentist’s lack of technical and scientific knowledge and the financial impossibility of most population are some hindrances for the establishment of the right planning for the impacted canine.
