Estudo das áreas verdes da Marinha do Brasil localizadas no Estado do Rio de Janeiro: subsídios para um plano de gestão.

O objetivo deste trabalho é propor uma metodologia para avaliação da situação das áreas verdes da Marinha do Brasil (MB) a ser utilizada nos futuros planos de gestão destas áreas. O procedimento metodológico consistiu na aplicação de um questionário para todas as organizações navais no Brasil no total de 55 áreas distribuídas por todo o território. Para o estudo foram selecionadas 14 áreas da MB localizadas no estado do Rio de Janeiro. A pesquisa, documental e exploratória, foi aplicada ao estudo de caso na Base de Hidrografia da Marinha em Niterói (BHMN) e a Ilha de Cabo Frio (ICBFR). As respostas ao questionário resultaram na construção de matriz com a proposição de indicadores ambientais para subsidiar um plano de gestão das áreas verdes. Dois métodos foram empregados para classificar e avaliar os indicadores propostos: o método do Carbono Social (MCS) e o método Pressão-Estado-Resposta (PER). O MCS foi modificado para desenvolver um diagnóstico inicial das áreas e posterior monitoramento do plano de gestão implantado. O método PER foi utilizado para classificar e avaliar os indicadores visando o detalhamento do plano de gestão e a proposição de recomendações para implantação do plano. O estudo permitiu concluir que a metodologia utilizada pode ser aplicada às propriedades sob administração naval da MB e também a outras regiões. Espera-se que os resultados desse trabalho possam contribuir para a melhoria da gestão dessas áreas, algumas delas já impactadas por ações antrópicas em seus entornos. Tais áreas, em muitos casos, são únicas e importantes para a manutenção da biodiversidade remanescente do Bioma Mata Atlântica.

River Ehen and Calder sub catchment Management Plan

This is the River Ehen and Calder sub catchment management plan: Consultation Report September 1993 produced by the National Rivers Authority (NRA) North West Region in 1993. The report focuses on the management plan of both River Catchments Ehen and Calder, in North West England, UK. The Catchment Management Plan (C.M.P.) enabled the NRA to summarise the status of the catchment, identify the main issues and present its vision of the future. It provides a strategic policy framework for its Management and influences decision making leading to improvements in the water environment. Rostherne Mere water level management plan. Draft 1 November 1996

This is the Water Level Management Plan for the Rostherne Mere by the Environment Agency. The purpose of the Plan is to provide a formal basis for managing the land drainage system and water supply system of the area in order to provide a sustainable balance between the conservation and agricultural interest in the area. No changes are proposed to present water level management or maintenance practices unless and until such changes are agreed by all parties. The report contains sections on description of Site, water level management, maintenance, nature conservation, agriculture, fisheries, archaeology, water quality and water resources, development adjacent to watercourses, contingencies and objectives of the Water Level Management.

Meres and mosses conservation plan: Rostherne Mere

This is a report on the Conservation Plan for Rostherne Mere. The project primarly involved collating existing information from a variety of sources, supplemented by a limited amount of survey work commissioned for the project, including identification of the surface water catchment, water flows, and land use within the catchment. The section 1 outlines the physical situation of the Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), its geological setting and hydrological regime. A summary of the ecological characteristics, conservation interest and objectives is provided in Section 2, and the issues affecting the site are identified in Section 3. . Operations and mechanisms for addressing the issues are suggested in Section 4, compiled from field visits, information held on file by English Nature and the Environment Agency, and English Nature. The last Section 5 provides a brief summary of the site’s condition and a discussion of the issues and operations suggested. A summary table is provided of the recommended actions for each site. Supporting information on the hydrology and aquatic ecology (where relevant) is provided in appendices.

River Gowy and Thornton Brook improvements. Environmental Action Plan March 2000

This Environmental Action Plan relates to the proposals by the Environment Agency to improve the flood defences of land adjacent to the River Gowy, about 3 km east of Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The purpose of the Environmental Action Plan (EAP) is to provide details of how the issues addressed in the Environmental Statement (ES) will be carried through to the completion of the project. The EAP represents a commitment to the environmental recommendations formulated during the environmental assessment process and should be closely adhered to during the design, construction and post project monitoring o f the works. For any matters that cannot be finalised until during construction the constraints will be detailed in the plan so they are implemented in the contracts.

River Camel SAP Final Plan

This is the River Camel Salmon Action Plan Final document produced by the Environment Agency in 2002. This final Salmon Action Plan (SAP) for the River Camel catchment has been produced after consideration of feedback from external consultation. It provides a list of the agreed issues and actions for the next five years to maintain and improve the River Camel salmon stock. The actions presented within this Salmon Action Plan clarify the important issues and factors currently limiting the salmon stock on the river. The resolution of these issues should ensure that a sustainable salmon population will be maintained for future generations. An attempt has been made to cost these actions, identify possible sources of funding and to provide a timescale for action. This Action Plan aims to promote long term collaboration and co-operation between the Agency and other interested parties to effectively and efficiently manage the stock of salmon on the River Camel.

River Fowey SAP Final Plan

This is the River Fowey Salmon Action Plan Final document produced by the Environment Agency in 2003. This final Salmon Action Plan (SAP) for the River Fowey catchment has been produced after consideration of feedback from external consultation. It provides a list of the agreed issues and actions for the next five years to maintain and improve the River Fowey salmon stock. The actions presented within this final Salmon Action Plan clarify the important issues and factors currently limiting the salmon stock on the river. The resolution of these issues should ensure that a sustainable salmon population will be maintained for future generations. The main objective of the Fowey SAP therefore, is to maintain, improve and develop the Fowey salmon stocks to a sustainable level that, on the basis of historic catch records, the catchment can clearly support. Although the Fowey is passing its conservation limit, the consultees felt very strongly that there were two major factors limiting the salmon stock of the River Fowey- the overgrazing of Bodmin Moor and the use of the catchment for water supply by South West Water.

River Lynher SAP Final Plan

This is the River Lynher Salmon Action Plan Final document produced by the Environment Agency in 1999. This final Salmon Action Plan (SAP) for the River Lynher catchment has been produced after consideration of feedback from external consultation. It provides a list of the agreed issues and actions for the next five years to maintain and improve the River Lynher salmon stock. The actions presented within this final Salmon Action Plan clarify the important issues and factors currently limiting the salmon stock on the river. The resolution of these issues should ensure that a sustainable salmon population will be maintained for future generations. The River Lynher salmon stock has suffered two periods of spawning target failure within the past ten years. This assessment can only be estimated and in this case is likely to be dependent on river flow and the availability of salmon to the rods as only rod catch is used in the compliance assessment.

River Plym SAP Final Plan

This is the River Plym Salmon Action Plan Final document produced by the Environment Agency in 2003. This final Salmon Action Plan (SAP) for the River Plym catchment has been produced after consideration of feedback from external consultation. It provides a list of the agreed issues and actions for the next five years to maintain and improve the River Lynher salmon stock. These issues and actions follow on from the detailed analysis of the catchment, which is presented in the River Plym SAP Consultation document.The actions presented within this final Salmon Action Plan clarify the important issues and factors currently limiting the salmon stock on the river. The resolution of these issues should ensure that a sustainable salmon population will be maintained for future generations. The main objective of the River Plym SAP therefore, is to maintain, improve and develop the River Plym salmon stocks to a sustainable level that, on the basis of historic catch records, the catchment can clearly support. The River Plym has failed to pass its conservation limit since 1996, and the consultees felt very strongly that there were three major factors limiting the salmon stock of the River Plym.

River Tavy SAP Final Plan

The resolution of these issues should ensure that a sustainable salmon population will be maintained for future generations. This Action Plan aims to promote long term collaboration and co-operation between the Agency and other interested parties to effectively and efficiently manage the stock of salmon on the River Tavy.

The Rivers Avon & Erme SAP Final Plan

This is the Rivers Avon & Erme Salmon Action Plan Final document produced by the Environment Agency in 2004. The Rivers Avon and Erme Salmon Action Plan (SAP) has been produced after consideration of feedback from public consultation. The final plan provides a list of the agreed issues and actions for the next five years to maintain and improve the salmon stocks and fisheries of both rivers. Efforts have been made to identify possible sources of funding, partners and timescales. It indicates how the plan will be managed, including the process for reviewing stock status, issues, actions and progress. Low marine survival is currently a major factor limiting the numbers of salmon returning to spawn in both the Avon and the Erme. Actions to improve the accessibility of spawning areas and to maximise the productivity of spawning and nursery habitats are seen as priorities, which should help to offset the low marine survival. The quality of the information available to assess salmon stocks is recognised as a limiting factor in the management of salmon fisheries. The SAP aims also to promote long term collaboration between the Agency and other interested parties in managing the salmon stocks and fisheries of the Avon and the Erme.

The River Axe SAP Final Plan

This is the River Axe Salmon Action Plan Final document produced by the Environment Agency in 2004. The River Axe Salmon Action Plan (SAP) has been produced after consideration of feedback from public consultation. The final plan provides a list of the agreed issues and actions for the next five years to maintain and improve the salmon stock of the River Axe. Efforts have been made to identify possible sources of funding, partners and timescales. It indicates how the plan will be managed, including the process for reviewing stock status, issues, actions and progress. Low marine survival is currently a major factor limiting salmon stocks throughout the United Kingdom. However, on the River Axe the freshwater environment is still the main factor limiting the recovery of the salmon stock. Most of the adults returning to the Axe at present are probably derived from hatchery reared smolts, although there has been some natural reproduction in recent years. Juvenile populations in the Yarty indicate that this is a tributary where salmon have started to re-establish a self-sustaining population. Actions to improve the quality of the freshwater environment, both in terms of water quality and sedimentation, are seen as the top priorities, and are required to allow the Axe to support a self-sustaining salmon population.
