Abstract Background: More than 50% of the patients with heart failure have normal ejection fraction (HFNEF). Iodine-123 metaiodobenzylguanidine (123I-MIBG) scintigraphy and cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) are prognostic markers in HFNEF. Nebivolol is a beta-blocker with vasodilating properties. Objectives: To evaluate the impact of nebivolol therapy on CPET and123I-MIBG scintigraphic parameters in patients with HFNEF. Methods: Twenty-five patients underwent 123I-MIBG scintigraphy to determine the washout rate and early and late heart-to-mediastinum ratios. During the CPET, we analyzed the systolic blood pressure (SBP) response, heart rate (HR) during effort and recovery (HRR), and oxygen uptake (VO2). After the initial evaluation, we divided our cohort into control and intervention groups. We then started nebivolol and repeated the tests after 3 months. Results: After treatment, the intervention group showed improvement in rest SBP (149 mmHg [143.5-171 mmHg] versus 135 mmHg [125-151 mmHg, p = 0.016]), rest HR (78 bpm [65.5-84 bpm] versus 64.5 bpm [57.5-75.5 bpm, p = 0.028]), peak SBP (235 mmHg [216.5-249 mmHg] versus 198 mmHg [191-220.5 mmHg], p = 0.001), peak HR (124.5 bpm [115-142 bpm] versus 115 bpm [103.7-124 bpm], p= 0.043), HRR on the 1st minute (6.5 bpm [4.75-12.75 bpm] versus 14.5 bpm [6.7-22 bpm], p = 0.025) and HRR on the 2nd minute (15.5 bpm [13-21.75 bpm] versus 23.5 bpm [16-31.7 bpm], p = 0.005), but no change in peak VO2 and 123I-MIBG scintigraphic parameters. Conclusion: Despite a better control in SBP, HR during rest and exercise, and improvement in HRR, nebivolol failed to show a positive effect on peak VO2 and 123I-MIBG scintigraphic parameters. The lack of effect on adrenergic activity may be the cause of the lack of effect on functional capacity.

An appropriate assessment of end-to-end network performance presumes highly efficient time tracking and measurement with precise time control of the stopping and resuming of program operation. In this paper, a novel approach to solving the problems of highly efficient and precise time measurements on PC-platforms and on ARM-architectures is proposed. A new unified High Performance Timer and a corresponding software library offer a unified interface to the known time counters and automatically identify the fastest and most reliable time source, available in the user space of a computing system. The research is focused on developing an approach of unified time acquisition from the PC hardware and accordingly substituting the common way of getting the time value through Linux system calls. The presented approach provides a much faster means of obtaining the time values with a nanosecond precision than by using conventional means. Moreover, it is capable of handling the sequential time value, precise sleep functions and process resuming. This ability means the reduction of wasting computer resources during the execution of a sleeping process from 100% (busy-wait) to 1-1.5%, whereas the benefits of very accurate process resuming times on long waits are maintained.

In der heutigen Zeit wird das Handy immer mehr in verschiedenen Bereichen benutzt. Und die älteren Flüssigkeitsthermometer werden wegen ihrer Ungenauigkeit, Zerbrechlichkeit und Gefahr durch austretende Quecksilberdämpfe den Ansprüchen unserer modernen Technik längst nicht mehr gerecht und finden demzufolge keine Anwendung mehr. Deswegen wird im Rahmen dieser Masterarbeit ein Gerät entwickelt, welches die Temperatur messen und die Daten mit dem vorhandenen GSM-Netz verbinden und anzeigen kann.Ein an ein Mikrocontrollersystem, das Linux basiert arbeitet, angeschlossener Temperatursensor soll zur Überwachung der Umgebungstemperatur dimensioniert und entwickelt werden. Die zu messende Temperatur wird periodisch vom Mikrocontrollersystem aufgenommen und verarbeitet, anschließend auf eine LCD angezeigt. Aufgrund von einstellbaren Rahmenbedingungen werden die Rohdaten oder auch bereits vorverarbeitete Datensätze von diesem System mittels eines GSM-Moduls an ein Auswertesystem verschickt. Das Auswertesystem soll neben der Anzeige der empfangenden Daten in der Lage sein, zu definierende Steuersequenzen an das Mikrocontrollersystem mit angeschlossenem Sensor zu verschicken, und direkten zu steuern.

O presente trabalho descreve os dados obtidos sôbre a determinação do pH em soluções, desde 0,005 até 0,50 molar de ácido acético, ácido cítrico, ácido oxálico e ácido tartárico. Os dados obtidos experimentalmente, quando expressos em função de pC, isto é, em função de log log 1/C apresentaram uma relação linear. Por outro lado, calculando-se o pH das diversas soluções dos ácidos estudados, através de duas equações, uma do primeiro grau e outra do segundo grau, observou-se que os resultados calculados pela segunda equação apresentaram valores muito próximos aos determinados experimentalmente, conquanto no cálculo tenha sido usada apenas, a primeira constante termodinâmica de ionização, para os ácido cítrico, oxálico e tartárico. Uma vez que o valor do pH determinado e o do pH calculado constituem uma função linear do pC, foram estabelecidas duas equações de regressão para cada ácido estudado. Na primeira equação de regressão o pH determinado figura como variável dependente e na segunda, o pH calculado é a variável dependente. Nas duas equações o pC é a variável independente.
