El gasterópodo marino Patella ferruginea se encuentra incluido en los Catálogos Español y Andaluz de Especies Amenazadas en la categoría “En peligro de extinción”. En 2008 fue aprobada la Estrategia de Conservación Nacional de la especie que establece la realización de un seguimiento de la población cada cuatro años. En Andalucía se ha realizado en 2010 el seguimiento de la especie empleando dos tipos de metodología: los “Controles de crecimiento”, mediante marcaje de ejemplares, y los “Censos exhaustivos” en “Tramos” de costa, para intentar detectar todos los individuos presentes. En el censo de 2010 se han muestreado unos 21 km de costa en 34 localidades, un 5% del litoral andaluz con presencia de la especie, lo que constituye un esfuerzo considerable, pero asumible para el control periódico de la misma. La densidad media detectada es muy baja, de 0,048 ind./m. El mayor número de individuos se encuentra en Cádiz y la población mejor estructurada en la isla de Alborán. Se estima que el tamaño actual de la población en Andalucía ronda los 1.800 ejemplares, lo que constituye un aumento con respecto a inventarios anteriores. Sin embargo, el contingente es muy reducido para garantizar la supervivencia de la especie. La categoría de protección propuesta por el Libro Rojo de los Invertebrados de Andalucía, “En peligro crítico” (MORENO y ARROYO, 2008), debe considerarse, por lo tanto, la más adecuada para la lapa ferruginosa siguiendo los criterios de valoración de la UICN (2001).

Plusieurs décennies de recherche ont permis de mieux comprendre les effets de l’athérosclérose sur le système cardiovasculaire, d’améliorer la prévention et de développer des traitements efficaces. Les effets de l’athéroslérose sur le cerveau demeurent toutefois mal compris même si le lien entre le fonctionnement cognitif et la santé du système vasculaire est maintenant bien établi. La venue de nouvelles méthodes d’imagerie telle la microscopie laser à 2-photons (TPLM) permet d’étudier l’impact de certaines maladies sur la microvasculature cérébrale en mesurant le flux sanguin dans des vaisseaux uniques situés dans des régions cérébrales millimétriques sous la surface. Les résultats des études in vitro peuvent dorénavant être corrélés à ceux obtenus in vivo. En premier lieu, ce mémoire revoit la théorie ayant permis le développement de la TPLM qui permet de prendre des mesures hémodynamiques in vivo dans des vaisseaux de très petits calibres tels des capillaires cérébraux de souris. Par la suite, son utilisation est décrite chez des souris anesthésiées afin de comparer les mesures d’hémodynamie cérébrale tels la vitesse des globules rouges, le flux de globules rouges, le flux sanguin cérébral, l’hématocrite sanguin et le diamètre des vaisseaux. Finalement, nous avons comparé les données hémodynamiques entre des souris de 3 mois normales (WT ; n=6) et des souris atteintes d’athérosclérose précoce (ATX ; n=6). Les résultats obtenus sur un nombre total de 209 capillaires (103 pour les souris WT et 106 pour les souris ATX) démontrent que les souris ATX possèdent une vitesse des globules rouges (+40%) plus grande, un flux de globule rouge plus grand (+12%) et un flux capillaire plus élevé (+14%) sans démontrer pour aucun de ces paramètres, une différence statistiquement significative. L’hématocrite moyen (35±4% vs 33±2% ; p=0.71) et le diamètre moyen des vaisseaux (4.88±0.22μm vs 4.86±0.20μm ; p=0.23) étaient également comparables. La vitesse des globules rouges a démontré une faible corrélation avec le diamètre des vaisseaux (r=0.39) et avec le flux de globules rouges/seconde (r=0.59). En conclusion, les travaux menés dans le cadre de ce mémoire de maîtrise permettent d'envisager, grâce aux nouvelles méthodes d’imagerie cérébrale telle la TPLM, une meilleure compréhension des mécanismes hémodynamiques sous-jacents à la microcirculation cérébrale. L’effet d’une pression pulsée augmentée, tel que proposée dans l’athérosclérose reste cependant à démontrer avec cette méthode d’imagerie.

Cosa ci spinge a viaggiare? Siamo così terribilmente annoiati dalle nostre insicurezze e dalle luccicanti certezze della società che per rimanere in vita sentiamo il bisogno di muoverci, spostarci, andare fuori. Ma fuori dove? Crediamo davvero di salvarci andando a cercare qualcosa che non riusciamo nemmeno a definire? Coloro che potrebbero rispondere affermativamente a un tale quesito non sono quelli che partono, ma quelli che non tornano. Viaggiare per me significa leggere le differenze e leggermi nel profondo, scrivere dell’esperienza e scrivermi tracciando il mio cambiamento, tradurre da una lingua all’altra e tradurre le mie nuove emozioni. Questo elaborato è, perciò, l’umile tentativo di descrivere la complessità e l’arricchimento che può derivare dal fare esperienza, che sia viaggiando, leggendo, scrivendo o traducendo, vedendomi “di spalle che partivo” come avrebbe detto Fabrizio De André. Il fil rouge che creerà un legame tra tali azioni, che tesserà la trama dell’arazzo della mia esperienza è la metafora. La metafora è qualcosa che va anche al di là della sua semplice etimologia dal greco che la rende protagonista di un portare oltre. Metterò in scena il dubbio e la curiosità come motivi del viaggiare; parlerò della soglia come sipario che scorre via una volta che ci si apre all’Altro e non vi è più distinzione né distanza di spazio e tempo; varcherò i confini delle definizioni come palcoscenico in cui lettori, scrittori e traduttori viaggiano, e mostrerò come questi siano antropologi, registi e spettatori allo stesso tempo. Tutto ciò che infine rimarrà non sarà solo il silenzio, l’assenza derivanti dalle perdite che tali esperienze comportano, ma soprattutto l’amore che l’accoglienza dell’Altro insegna.
