Eugeni d'Ors i les biblioteques: una aproximació a partir del Glosari

The article presents annotated selections of Eugeni d¿Ors comments concerning libraries and appearing in the newspaper, La veu de Catalunya, between 1906 and 1920. The selection from this Catalan author and politician focuses on two themes: the debate surrounding the creation of a library for scholars (1910) and the establishment of public libraries (1915).

Informe d'assistència al II Encuentro de Profesores de Biblioteconomía y Documentación (Jarandilla de la Vera, Cáceres, 24 i 25 de setembre de 1998)

L'Encuentro de Profesores Universitarios de Biblioteconomía y Documentación és una trobada que aplega els professors universitaris espanyols d'aquesta àrea de coneixement amb l'objectiu d'intercanviar experiències. En la primera edició es van prendre com a eix central de discussió els plans d'estudi de la llicenciatura. La segona trobada es va dedicar a la descripció de la situació la investigació en biblioteconomia i documentació a Espanya. L'organització d'aquests encuentros ha anat a càrrec, fins ara, de la Facultad de Biblioteconomía y Documentación de la Universidad de Extremadura

La figura del consultor a empreses del sector tecnològic: oportunitats d'ocupació per als titulats en BiD

The article offers an extrapolation based on the author's own experience, describing the main characteristics of projects undertaken by companies in the technological sector and the typical functions performed by consultants in this area. The principal objective is to introduce the profile of consultant as a potential employment niche for those graduates in Library and Information Science who would like to specialise in this area, once having acquired the complementary training that is needed

El camí a Europa: els serveis d'aprenentatge i recerca a les biblioteques de la UPC

The article shows how the library services of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) manage change and explores the current opportunities available (university, electronic information, etc.) for converting the libraries into centres that actively support training and research at the university level. After providing information about the current university scenario, the article focuses on the road taken by the UPC libraries to overcome at both a conceptual and a practical level the major challenge of the millennium: transforming the traditional university library into a centre with resources for supporting academic teaching and research.

La mobilitat internacional d'estudiants de la Facultat de Biblioteconomia i Documentació de la Universitat de Barcelona en el marc del programa Erasmus: perspectiva i valoració

We review the participation of the Faculty of Library Sciences and Documentation of the University of Barcelona in the Erasmus program since 1993. In general, student participation has been low. We present the results of a study conducted in May 2007 among the students of the Faculty, designed a) to assess their experience of the Erasmus program and their evaluation of it and b) to promote student participation. Though the vast majority of students have heard of the Erasmus program, their awareness of specific aspects of the program is relatively low

Els fons i les col·leccions d'arxiu a les biblioteques: models per al seu control i accés

First, we examine the context of creation of special collection units in libraries, and the reasons why libraries compile archive materials and collections. Second, we focus on the techniques used in library environments to describe archive materials and collections and to guarantee their accessibility. We examine the models used in the United States and the United Kingdom to describe and access these materials, and the cooperative projects launched in these two countries in the past few years. Finally, we offer a preliminary analysis of how these types of materials are currently dealt with in Catalan libraries, and issue some recommendations to improve their archiving and access.

Informe sobre el I Encuentro Británico-Español de Profesores de Biblioteconomía y Documentación, 2000 (Barcelona, 30-31 de març i 1 d'abril de 2000)

Sota el títol de Biblioteconomía y Documentación en la era digital: docencia e investigación, l'Observatori de la Comunicació Científica, la Secció Científica de Biblioteconomia i Documentació del Departament de Ciències Polítiques i Socials i l'Institut de Lingüística Aplicada (IULA) de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra organitzaren en les dates ja esmentades el I Encuentro Británico-Español de Profesores de Biblioteconomia y Documentación a la seu de la Rambla d'aquesta Universitat. Han col·laborat en aquesta activitat, a més, el Ministerio de Educación y Cultura, el Departamento de Biblioteconomía y Documentación de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, la Llicenciatura en Documentació de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, la Llicenciatura en Documentació de la Universitat de Barcelona, la Llicenciatura en Documentació de laUniversitat Oberta de Catalunya, el Col·legi Oficial de Bibliotecaris-Documentalistes de Catalunya (COBDC) i la School of Information and Media Robert Gordon University. Pel nombre d'institucions implicades i pelseu alt nivell, es constata fàcilment que la trobada naixia amb molt bons auguris.

Les Biblioteques per a infants malalts als hospitals: a la recerca d'un espai propi

Les "Pautas para bibliotecas al servicio de pacientes de hospital, ancianos y discapacitados en centros de atención de larga duración" elaborades per l'IFLA són el marc normatiu de les biblioteques per a pacients. La seva existència, però, no garanteix el seu compliment; és per això que trobem realitats ben diverses, des dels hospitals que les reinterpreten i adeqüen a les seves necessitats i mitjans fins als que les ignoren o les desconeixen. En aquesta comunicació farem un recorregut per diverses alternatives o interpretacions als espais hospitalaris dedicats tant a l'oci com a la informació dels pacients en un context internacional. Es conclou que la biblioteca per a pacients és un servei en si mateix i es reivindica com un servei més al qual el malalt té dret.
