I denna uppsats har filmljudet i krigsfilmerna Apocalypse Now och Saving Private Ryan undersökts. Detta har gjorts för att försöka bidra med ökad förståelse för filmljudets användningsområde och funktioner, främst för filmerna i fråga, men även för krigsfilm rent generellt. Filmljud i denna kontext omfattar allt det ljud som finns i film, men utesluter dock all ickediegetisk musik. Båda filmerna har undersökts genom en audio-visuell analys. En sådan analys görs genom att detaljgranska båda filmernas ljud- och bildinnehåll var för sig, för att slutligen undersöka samma filmsekvens som helhet då ljudet och bilden satts ihop igen. Den audio-visuella analysmetod som nyttjats i uppsatsen är Michel Chions metod, Masking. De 30 minuter film som analyserades placerades sedan i olika filmljudzoner, där respektive filmljudzons ljudinnehåll bland annat visade vilka främsta huvudfunktioner somfilmljudet hade i dessa filmer. Dessa funktioner är till för att bibehålla åskådarens fokus och intresse, att skapa närhet till rollkaraktärerna, samt att tillföra en hög känsla av realism och närvaro. Intentionerna med filmljudet verkade vara att flytta åskådaren in i filmens verklighet, att låta åskådaren bli ett med filmen. Att återspegla denna känsla av realism, närvaro, fokus samt intresse, visade sig också vara de intentioner som funnits redan i de båda filmernas förproduktionsstadier. Detta bevisar att de lyckats åstadkomma det de eftersträvat. Men om filmljudet använts på samma sätt eller innehar samma funktioner i krigsfilm rent genrellt går inte att säga.I have for this bachelor’s thesis examined the movie sound of the classic warfare movies Apocalypse Now and Saving Private Ryan. This is an attempt to contribute to a more profound comprehension of the appliance and importance of movie sound. In this context movie sound implies all kinds of sounds within the movies, accept from non-diegetic music. These two movies have been examined by an audio-visual analysis. It's done by auditing the sound and picture content separately, and then combined to audit the same sequence as a whole. Michel Chion, which is the founder of this analysis, calls this method Masking. The sound in this 30 minute sequence was then divided into different zones, where every zone represented a certain main function. These functions are provided to create a stronger connection to the characters, sustain the viewers interest and bring a sense of realism and presence. It seems though the intention with the movies sound is to bring the viewers to the scene in hand, and let it become their reality. To mirror this sense of realism, presence, focus and interest, proves to be the intention from an early stage of the production. This bachelor’s thesis demonstrates a success in their endeavours. Although it can’t confirm whether the movie sound have been utilized in the same manner or if they posess the same functions to warefare movies in general.

Photovoltaic processing is one of the processes that have significance in semiconductor process line. It is complicated due to the no. of elements involved that directly or indirectly affect the processing and final yield. So mathematically or empirically we can’t say assertively about the results specially related with diffusion, antireflective coating and impurity poisoning. Here I have experimented and collected data on the mono-crystal silicon wafers with varying properties and outputs. Then by using neural network with available experimental data output required can be estimated which is further tested by the test data for authenticity. One can say that it’s a kind of process simulation with varying input of raw wafers to get desired yield of photovoltaic mono-crystal cells.

På uppdrag av Tidningsutgivarna har en studie utförts angående olika möjligheter att införa tryck av variabeldata med tryckmetoden inkjet i svensk dagspress. Målet var att undersöka tekniska möjligheter och begränsningar samt att utreda om det fanns något intresse på marknaden som skulle kunna ge någon avkastning. Studien utfördes med hjälp av noggranna källstudier och ett fortlöpande samarbete med olika företag med intresse för dagspress. Rapporten beskriver också företag som arbetar med den här typen av innovationer idag och diverse tidigare projekt med variabeltryckta tidningar. Nya teknologier som eventuellt kan vara av intresse för framtida utveckling har också beskrivits och hur tidningens framtid kommer att se ut ur ett kortare och ett längre perspektiv. Studien visar att inkjetpressar inte klarar av den hastighet som de moderna tidningspressarna håller idag. Men i takt med minskade upplagor och utvecklad teknologi, samt ett stort marknadsmässigt intresse så tyder det på att det kommer att finnas möjlighet att tillverka anpassade digitaltryckta tidningsupplagor inom en överskådlig framtid. Inkjet kan fungera som ett bra komplement till offset. Inlinepressar ger möjligheten att införa variabeltryck i stora tidningsupplagor medan separata inkjetpressar passar bra för tryck av mindre lokala upplagor.

Bakgrund: Smärta är en individuell upplevelse och smärta är en stor orsak till att befolkningen söker vård. För att ge säker och god vård krävs det att sjuksköterskor ska kunna bedöma och utvärdera patienternas smärta. Sjuksköterskors upplevelser kan orsaka ett flertal hinder som kan göra att en god och säker vård inte kan uppnås. Syfte: Att beskriva sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda patienter med smärta. Metod: Litteraturöversikt som är baserad på 15 vetenskapliga artiklar med både kvalitativ- och kvantitativansats. Resultat: Denna litteraturstudies resultat visade att sjuksköterskor upplever kunskapsbrist när det gäller att vårda patienter med smärta. Sjuksköterskor upplever sig otillräckliga och frustrerade över att inte kunna ge en optimal smärtlindring samt en stor rädsla att starta ett missbruk hos patienterna. Slutsats: Det är viktigt att fortsätta forska på sjuksköterskors upplevelser för att kunna tydliggöra eventuella hinder som försvårar arbetet med att ge god och säker vård till patienter med smärta.

Esta dissertação tem como objetivo geral analisar a relação entre a qualificação profissional e a inserção ou permanência dos trabalhadores no mercado de trabalho, tendo como unidade de análise, os egressos do Programa Integrar desenvolvido pela CNM/CUT em Porto Alegre e Região Metropolitana. Esse programa diferencia-se das propostas de qualificação profissional desenvolvidas pelos empresários, pelo governo e pelas outras centrais sindicais, pois articula a elevação da escolaridade em nível de ensino fundamental e qualificação técnica, voltando-se para trabalhadores desempregados ou em risco de perder o emprego. Foram entrevistados 21 egressos do PI e um dirigente da instituição executora com o intuito de investigar qual a contribuição da qualificação profissional, no que diz respeito à elevação da escolaridade, particularmente, e ao aperfeiçoamento da qualificação técnica – operacionalizadas por intermédio do PI –, mas também à experiência profissional e às características adscritas detidas pelos egressos, para a diferenciação da condição de atividade dos mesmos. O estudo norteou-se pela hipótese de que os egressos com, sobretudo, escolaridade mais elevada, qualificação técnica mais aperfeiçoada, mas também com experiência de trabalho mais ampla, pertencentes ao sexo masculino, com idade entre 25 e 39 anos e de cor branca tendem a encontrar menores dificuldades para se inserir, reinserir ou permanecer no mercado de trabalho, comparativamente àqueles egressos que não possuem tais características. As constatações a que se chegou – ainda que não sejam generalizáveis – revelaram que alguns grupos tendem a ser mais valorizados em suas inserções no mercado de trabalho. Para os egressos homens com um perfil específico de idade – 25 a 39 anos – e de cor – branca – a elevação da escolaridade e o aperfeiçoamento da qualificação técnica, por meio do PI, se revelou um elemento estratégico para a diferenciação da condição de atividade. No entanto, para as mulheres, independente de idade e de cor, essas duas dimensões da qualificação profissional, aperfeiçoadas pelo PI, não se mostraram suficientes, pois a maioria delas continuou desempregada após o Programa, mesmo que, em muitos casos, possuíssem escolaridade, qualificação técnica e experiência de trabalho em níveis superiores àquelas apresentadas pelos homens.

Este trabalho discorre sobre a aplicação de uma proposta de método de resolução de problemas utilizando a Teoria das Restrições (TOC). No desenvolvimento desta proposta procurou-se aliar a focalização dos problemas e os conceitos financeiros protagonizados pela TOC. Para que uma solução urgente de problemas possa ser conduzida de uma forma coerente, precisa e rápida, não é necessário que seja executada de maneira que os gastos ultrapassem os benefícios. Além disso, o todo que compõe o sistema analisado deve poder ser vislumbrado claramente. Esta proposta foi aplicada a uma corporação que fabrica autopeças. Ela está localizada nos Estados Unidos da América. Os resultados da aplicação do método aqui apresentado permitiram chegar às conclusões apontadas no capítulo final deste trabalho.

In this thesis, the basic research of Chase and Simon (1973) is questioned, and we seek new results by analyzing the errors of experts and beginners chess players in experiments to reproduce chess positions. Chess players with different levels of expertise participated in the study. The results were analyzed by a Brazilian grandmaster, and quantitative analysis was performed with the use of statistical methods data mining. The results challenge significantly, the current theories of expertise, memory and decision making in this area, because the present theory predicts piece on square encoding, in which players can recognize the strategic situation reproducing it faithfully, but commit several errors that the theory can¿t explain. The current theory can¿t fully explain the encoding used by players to register a board. The errors of intermediary players preserved fragments of the strategic situation, although they have committed a series of errors in the reconstruction of the positions. The encoding of chunks therefore includes more information than that predicted by current theories. Currently, research on perception, trial and decision is heavily concentrated on the idea of pattern recognition". Based on the results of this research, we explore a change of perspective. The idea of "pattern recognition" presupposes that the processing of relevant information is on "patterns" (or data) that exist independently of any interpretation. We propose that the theory suggests the vision of decision-making via the recognition of experience.

This work has as its objective to create a service¿s pattern to EPGE Secretary, so we can solve the endless stress of the quaternary sector organization, where teachers and secretary professionals just can¿t get along. This systemic model intends to create a definite solution to that problem, allowing teachers to dedicate their time only to research and orientation to students. That way, we can keep the high quality of the secretary¿s service, as we are the symbol of EPGE through the eyes of the public. Having done the theoretical conceptualization of Organizations, Systems and Methods and also Geertz Theory of Ethnography, we build a pattern system, adapted to FGV¿s secretaries cultural situation. A group of 21 professionals from FGV¿s secretaries was selected and through a qualitative research, it was sustained the six years field work of the thesis author. The group¿s contribution to this work was fundamental to build the model and can also create a new way of thinking the work from secretaries of FGV.

The aim of this research was to detect how strategy changes took place in a successful organization. This was an unique case study focused on O BOTICÁRIO, a cosmetic and perfumery company in the state of Paraná, Brazil. Some information (from primary data) was obtained through interviewing members of the retail development department. Extra information was taken from articles about the company and interviews with members of the board of directors published in newspapers and magazines. The analysis was carried out in an explanatory-descriptive way, with a qualitative approach. The data, other than serving to characterize the company, was used for a number of purposes. They were: to introduce information about strategy changes in the company; to identify factors that gave rise to these changes; to identify the effects of these changes on the organization; to classify the strategy changes. The data revealed that the company is highly receptive to changes. Amongst the factors that caused strategy changes the following two factors stand out: the flexibility that the company presents in adapting to environmental variations and, overall, the interdependency that exists between changes. Confirming the systemic character of organizations, it was found that the changes lead to new changes. When qualifying the strategy changes, it was discovered that the incremental changes were more related to process evolution, i.e., comprehending transformations directly related to the activities to which the changes are associated with. The discontinuous changes, on the contrary, involved transformations throughout the whole company. Of all the changes that were analyzed only two were considered to be truly strategy revolutions. This confirms the idea that organizations usually choose to search for established strategic paths. The strategy changes analyzed produced a resistance level. This resistance was directly proportional to the level of discontinuance that the change had. It was verified, however, that all changes were considered beneficial to the company. The study concludes that other factors are also responsible for the fast expansion of the company. The most important of these are: the constant lauching of new products; the identification of the company with environmental issues; the policy towards employees; the strong marketing strategy; the quality of its products; the excellence on its services; the treatment of consumers; the use of franchise shops; the training provided to all the franchise network and as well as to the employees; and the seek to hire the best professionals to supervise its services. However, it can¿t be omitted that particular cause of O BOTICÁRIO¿s success is the intuition and the feeling of its President.
