The most widely standard used for powdery mildew control on cucurbitaceas is the use of resistant cultivars and systemic fungicides, even though nutrition has been an option. The supply of silicon is benefic to many vegetable species, stimulating growth, yield, photosynthesis and regulation of transpiration; besides, its deposition in the epidermis avoids the invasion of fungus, bacteria and sucking insects. The aim of this experiment was to evaluate the influence of potassium silicate on powdery mildew control, development and yield of zucchini squash, cultivar Caserta. The experiment was conducted at Universidade Estadual Paulista, in greenhouse conditions and with a randomized design, divided in four replications, 11 plants per plot and five treatments: control (water), chemical treatment with fenarimol (2.4 g a.i. 100 L-1) and potassium silicate, in doses 1.5 L ha-1; 2.0 L ha-1 and 2.5 L ha-1. We evaluated the disease severity; gas exchange (net CO2 assimilation rates, transpiration, stomatal conductance and water use efficiency); growth (leaf area ratio, relative growth rate, absolute growth rate, net assimilation rate and specific leaf mass) and yield. The results showed that the foliar application of potassium silicate and fenarimol controlled powdery mildew and had no influence on plant growth. Therefore, the potassium silicate may be used as alternative for control of fungal pathogens and reduced application of chemical products, which provides a greater environmental sustainability. However, it is necessary to be careful with high doses because it was observed that 2.5 L h-1 was harmful to fruit production and gas exchange, despite being effective in controlling powdery mildew. According to this study it is recommended using 2.0 L ha-1 for control of powdery mildew to zucchini squash, and can replace the use of fenarimol, without affecting productivity and development of plants.

In a previous research, it was observed that are symbolic exchanges established between the persons and the environment they live in that allow them to interact with others, leading them to reorganize their internal cognitive structures, reaching more elaborated stages. In the case of a person with deafness, the possibility of exchange can be compromised and knowledge about the construction of the temporal notion seems to be essential to enable a path of explanation about the difficulties they have regarding their cognitive development. Thus, based on the theory of Jean Piaget, the study intended to understand how the temporal notion constitutes as possible subject to the process of building the real, and examine, through empirical evaluation, if the difficulty in establishing symbolic exchanges caused by deafness would compromise the development of this notion. For this purpose, bibliographical research and empirical research were made, by the comparative evaluating between the performance of deaf and hearing subjects in relation to the construction of temporal notion. Two groups of subjects aged between 10 and 12 years were composed: one with three deaf subjects and another with 3 listeners. The assessment and analysis of the data were based on an experiment created by Piaget and his staff. The results showed that the listeners present responses from operative level, compatible with the age range in which they found themselves. In contrast, the deaf subjects showed responses of transition level, which indicates a situation of cognitive delay. We conclude that the potential compromise linguistic presented by deaf people, can hinder the activity representative causing delay in construction of temporal notion and consequently the development of thought. In this sense, it seems that the Sign Language constitutes an important tool for deaf people because it allows symbolic exchanges that favor the cognitive development.

In the capital market the information are used as subsidies for the decision making of investors, among the main highlights are the economic, political, accounting and relating nature to the financial results of companies which have stocks traded at Stock Exchanges. In this perspective, it is essential that the agents involved especially brokerage companies establish management processes that contain a set of criteria for the organization and treatment of information collected in newspapers, news agencies and the companies that trade in stocks. Thus, it is essential to establish rigor in relation to recovery mechanisms of such information, which requires more than technology, because actions are necessary that will propitiate the informational content are made available with consistency, clarity and trustworthiness, so as that users can retrieve them in a timely manner. Furthermore, those processes should provide the efficient use of the information retrieved by users, so that they can use them aiming to subsidize the decisions of sale or purchase shares. Considering that the information systems are responsible for the information dissemination in the framework of capital market, it is necessary to present requisites that contemplate the set organization, treatment, retrieval and use of information. That way, we sought to evidence in this paper these issues, utilizing as a premise the elements proposed by Guimarães (2003) from the perspective of the information environment of a values brokerage companies reflecting through the model used, how these companies realize their work considering the dimensions of the documentary analysis, informational treatment, and the instruments for retrieval and use of information.

Although many studies have shown that soil solution chemistry can be a reliable indicator of biogeochemical cycling in forest ecosystems, the effects of litter manipulations on the fluxes of dissolved elements in gravitational soil solutions have rarely been investigated. We estimated the fluxes of NH4-N, NO3-N, K, Ca, Mg, Na, Cl, dissolved organic nitrogen (DON) and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) over the first two years after re-planting Eucalyptus trees in the coastal area of Congo. Two treatments were replicated in two blocks after clear-cutting 7-year-old stands: in treatment R, all the litter above the mineral soil was removed before planting, and in a double slash (DS) treatment, the amount of harvest residues was doubled. The soil solutions were sampled down to a depth of 4 m and the water fluxes were estimated using the Hydrus 1D model parameterized from soil moisture measurements in 4 plots. Isotopic and spectroscopic analytical techniques were used to assess the changes in dissolved organic matter (DOM) properties throughout the transfer in the soil. The first year after planting, the fluxes of NH4-N, K, Ca, Mg, Na, Cl and DOC in the topsoil of the DS treatment were 2-5 times higher than in R, which showed that litter was a major source of dissolved nutrients. Nutrient fluxes in gravitational solutions decreased sharply in the second year after planting, irrespective of the soil depth, as a result of intense nutrient uptake by Eucalyptus trees. Losses of dissolved nutrients were noticeably low in these Eucalyptus plantations despite a low cation exchange capacity, a coarse soil texture and large amounts of harvest residues left on-site at the clear cut in the DS treatment. All together, these results clarified the strong effect of litter manipulation observed on eucalypt growth in Congolese sandy soils. DOM fluxes, as well as changes in delta C-13, C:N and aromaticity of DOM throughout the soil profile showed that the organic compounds produced in the litter layer were mainly consumed by microorganisms or retained in the topsoil. Below a depth of 15 cm, most of the DOC and the DON originated from the first 2 cm of the soil and the exchanges between soil solutions and soil organic matter were low. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. The aim of this experiment was to study the influence of transparent, blue and red tree shelters on gas exchanges of canafístula’s (Peltophorum dubium (Spreng.) Taub.) seedlings. This study was carried out in Department of Botany, Institute of Biosciences, U ESP, Botucatu, São Paulo State, Brazil. The experiment design was randomized blocks, with 5 replications, each one containing 6 units of each treatment (nonsheltered, transparent tree shelters, blue tree shelters and red tree shelters). The evaluations of gas exchanges were made through an infrared gas analyzer. It follows that the tree shelters use may limit the photosynthesis, increase the transpiration and stomatal opening, besides reducing the water use efficiency. The colored tree shelters use created unfavorable conditions for the development, reducing the photosynthesis, because they reflected the blue and red wavelengths, allowing only the passage of the other components of the white light or of the photosynthetically active radiation

Many young people have chosen go on exchange experiences, expecting to live in a context full of diversity, to know elements in the country they are visiting and also to develop themselves personally and professionally. Organizational and cultural values can be acquired or developed through these professional exchange experiences. This paper aimed to understand the vision of young people who went on the social exchange of AIESEC related to cultural and organizational values in the experience. AIESEC is a global and nonprofit organization formed by university students, with the objective of peace and the fulfillment of the humankind needs. Thus, professional exchanges are the main tool for achieving this goal. The study analyzes the experiences of 15 exchange students as well as the point of view of five managers of the organization in order to gain a broad perspective in relation to exchange experiences to understand how young people understand the concept of culture. The interview results suggest that in labor relations, autonomy and egalitarianism are values that go together, while the harmony could be observed by the fact that the projects deal with the issue of sustainability. Furthermore, responsibility, tolerance and collective were the human values that the exchange students developed the most, indicating that experience enables openness to live the diversity and to the intercultural dialogue in order to value local cultures of the visited countries

This study aims to analise the relevance of the pedagogical coordinator as a mediator subject of the instructor formation within the school context. Thus, I seek to comprehend the functions that this coordinator may develop at school, affirming the contributions of dialogue and writing as instances of the resignification of the teaching practice. In this sense, the meetings of the HTPC(Collective Pedagogical Working Hours) are relevant spaces of the teaching practice. This qualitative investigation is the result of a bibliographic research, about the theoretical production, in the field of the education, that aims the thematic of the pedagogical coordinator and his functions at school. I've considered the articles located at the “Anais” of the ENDIPE(National Meeting of Didacticism and Teaching Practice) clipping the years of 2004,2006 and 2010, in the subject of teacher training, just like some bibliographic productions. I also introduce a teacher's report that helps to comprehend the HTPCs meetings as important spaces of experiences exchanges between the teachers, contributing to the quality of education offered

This work deals with the thermal load study of a fictitious aircraft as well as scaling, in terms of the airflow and temperature of the air conditioning system, for heating and cooling of the its internal environment, aiming the thermal comfort of occupants. The first part is presented the techniques and methods utilized for modeling different heat exchanges that occur in the aircraft and then allowed to calculate the total heat load and the airflow and temperature necessary to comply with the requirements of the thermal comfort. Techniques to determine the basic parameters, as convection coefficient and global coefficient of heat exchange, are also presented. The work aims to develop a program, using a computational tool, to automate the calculations so that facilitate this study. It also allows to be used for other airplanes just changing parameters and the control variables related to the specific project. Finally the program performs calculations for a fictitious airplane, to analyze its functionality and the influence of parameters involved in the temperature controls. The program allowed analyzing the sensitivity of portions of the thermal load and the corresponding parameters of influence, as well as the scaling of the air conditioning in terms of airflow and temperature. It was considered, despite the simplifications, a good approximation to the actual values and then can be used in development of the other airplanes

The aim of this experiment was evaluate the effect of the bioestimulant administered in grafted and non-grafted japanese cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) plants, under greenhouse conditions, in gas exchanges during the development of the plant and in the increase of yield. The experiment was carried out in the experimental area of Agronomic Sciences University of UNESP, Campus of Botucatu, São Paulo State, Brazil. The experiment design was completely randomized, in a factorial arrangement of 2x5, grafted and non-grafted plants and 5 treatments with bioestimulant: control, indolbutyric acid 0,0005% + citocinine 0,0009% + gibberelic acid 0,005% 250 mL ha-1; indolbutyric acid 0,0005% + citocinine 0,0009% + gibberelic acid 0,005% 375 mL ha-1; indolbutyric acid 0,0005% + citocinine 0,0009% + gibberelic acid 0,005% 500 mL ha-1; Yuca extract (Yucca elephantipes) + manganese + iron + copper + sulfur 375 mL ha-1 applied 15 days after the transplant, in intervals of 7 days between the applications, via leaf. The effect of the treatments were evaluated through the observations of the following characteristics: production of fruits (number and mass), average mass of the fruit and measures of gas exchanges. It can be concluded that indolbutyric acid 0,0005% + citocinine 0,0009% + gibberelic acid 0,005% 250 mL ha-1 increased CO2 assimilation rate and the water efficiency, influencing in addition to increase the quantity of the fruits

This study aims to analyze various index stock exchanges around the world, with mathematical methods, analyzing the Product Distribution function (PDF), cumulative distribution and correlation. It is thought that the world economy is connected, as if the financial markets were a network, where the fluctuation of a market generates a variation on another and another, creating a pattern, that this change will affect the entire network, thus creating what we might call the domino effect. From this we intend to study, using as a basis the main index of the major stock exchanges around the world the relationship they have with each other, analyzing the influence and correlation that generates this effect, showing that markets are connected and influence each other. We can see this effect in the crisis of 2008, where the U.S. market from one moment to the other was shaken, affecting the whole world in a few days, creating effects that are felt in the present day
