Les cooperatives es basen en valors i prioritzen el treball i el bé comú per sobre del capital amb l’objectiu de millorar les condicions dels socis i de les comunitats on estan radicades. Això fa que siguin les empreses més emblemàtiques de l’economia social. Les cooperatives, com a empresa, tenen el seu màxim òrgan de decisió a l’assemblea de socis i sòcies, que, mitjançant el seu president o presidenta, actuarà com a titular de l’empresa davant les institucions. Aquestes escoles treballen per construir i desenvolupar un projecte educatiu d’acord amb els valors cooperatius.
