Proceedings of the 2014 Iowa Tribal Summit on Cultural Preservation and Transportation, 2014

The 2014 Iowa Tribal Summit on Cultural Preservation and Transportation was a three day event held in Ames, Iowa, where Tribal officials, transportation officials, and preservation partners sat down to discuss various topics of interest related to consultation under the National Historical Preservation Act. The goal of this Summit was for these groups to discuss and develop effective project consultation. These proceeding provide a summary of the event, as well as recommendations for how to approach similar events in the future. In sum, 13 tribal officials, 16 transportation officials, 10 preservation partners, and two moderators attended all parts of the Summit. The 2014 Summit was a successful event when assessed in terms of group participation and attendee feedback. However, all attendees agree that events such as this Summit are most effective when they occur on a somewhat regular basis, where consulting parties can have regular dialog and interaction regarding all aspects of consultation under the National Historical Preservation Act. Diversitat cultural i matemàtiques

En aquesta recerca es presenten els resultats i les conclusions d’unes entrevistes realitzades a pares i mares d’alumnes de quart de primària de diferents orígens culturals, amb l’objectiu de descobrir el valor que cada família dóna a les matemàtiques, d’observar amb quines dificultats es troben els pares i mares quan han d’ajudar als seus fills i filles a fer els deures de matemàtiques, a més d’esbrinar quins recursos i/o estratègies tenen per ajudar-los. Per altra banda, també es vol saber si les experiències que tenen els adults en relació amb les matemàtiques afecta a l’ensenyament-aprenentatge dels seus fills i filles.

La psicogeografía cultural del desarrollo humano

El objetivo del artículo es presentar las bases teóricas y conceptuales de una disciplina a medio camino entre la psicología, la geografía y la antropología: la “psicogeografía cultural del desarrollo humano” (PCDH). Entendiendo por PCDH el estudio del desarrollo psicológico humano dentro de ciertas “geografías vitales y psicológicas” como un río, montaña o valle; una institución social como la escuela o la familia; ciertos artefactos como una bandera, un libro o un mapa; ideologías como el nacionalismo o liberalismo; relaciones sociales entre, por ejemplo, padre e hijo y ciertas actividades realizadas

Investigação qualitativa e abordagem psico-cultural do desvio [Qualitative research and psycho-cultural approaches of deviance]

Qualitative research and psycho-cultural approaches to deviant behaviour¦In this paper, the authors discuss the relevance of some historical, theoretical and¦methodological features of qualitative research for a psycho-cultural approach to¦deviance. Specifically, three methods are presented: ethnography, life stories and¦grounded theory. Some common features of these methods are: their potentialities of¦articulation with other methods, their plasticity and their procedures grounded in¦research contexts, experiences and meanings lived by participants. The role of the¦researcher, as well as the constructed and dialogical characteristics of both process¦and products of research, are also emphasised in these approaches. In this way,¦qualitative methods seem particularly adequate to a psycho-cultural approach to¦deviance, allowing the research of "hidden" phenomena and an understanding of¦deviance that takes into account its cultural norms. Thus, qualitative research is as a¦methodological device which allows to get beyond the traditional ethnocentrism of psychology.

Adubação nitrogenada e precipitação sobre a nutrição e produção de laranjeira 'Valência'

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da precipitação sobre a nutrição e a produção da laranjeira 'Valência' de acordo com doses de N. O pomar foi plantado em 1994, em Latossolo Vermelho distrófico, com estação das chuvas entre outubro e março, no noroeste do Paraná. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos ao acaso com quatro repetições. Quatro doses de N, 30, 100, 170 e 240 kg ha-1, foram avaliadas em dois períodos de adubação: menor precipitação (primeira quinzena de agosto, primeira quinzena de outubro e segunda quinzena de março) e maior precipitação (segunda quinzena de setembro, segunda quinzena de novembro e primeira quinzena de fevereiro). Foram avaliadas, nas safras agrícolas de 1999/2000 e 2001/2002, a produção de frutos e os teores de N foliar. A absorção de N não é suficiente para a produção de frutos no período de menor precipitação. A adequada nutrição e produção de frutos com redução da dose de N é obtida no período de maior precipitação. A adubação nitrogenada deve ser parcelada em três vezes entre 15 de setembro a 15 de fevereiro, coincidindo com a estação das chuvas.
