Desenvolvimento e caracterização de sistemas líquido-cristalinos para aplicação de um peptídeo com ação antimicrobiana

Atualmente o uso indiscriminado e não criterioso de antibióticos está causando um aumento alarmante de resistência bacteriana chegando a ser considerado um problema de saúde pública. Nesse contexto, a utilização do peptídeo antimicrobiano (PAM) Hylina-a1 proveniente de uma rã da fauna brasileira está sendo estudado. Sua atuação na membrana celular dificulta a ocorrência de resistência bacteriana. No entanto, o uso de PAMs ainda apresenta problemas principalmente relacionados à disponibilidade, eficácia e toxicidade. A fim de contornar esses problemas, este trabalho teve como objetivo principal avaliar a incorporação deste peptídeo a um sistema líquido cristalino nanoestruturado com capacidade de regular a liberação e proteger os peptídeos da degradação química e física mantendo a bioatividade. O sistema líquido cristalino foi preparado com fosfatidilcolina de soja (FS), oleato de sódio (OS) e Tween 20 (TW), colesterol (CHO) e tampão fosfato, sendo que alguns pontos apresentaram fases líquido-cristalinas do tipo lamelar. Para os estudos posteriores foi escolhido um ponto com características visuais de viscosidade apropriadas ao uso tópico e a este se incorporou o peptídeo. A obtenção do peptídeo por meio da SPFS foi viável, obtendo-se materiais com alto índice de pureza. No ensaio de reologia a formulação apresentou-se como fluido pseudoplástico não–Newtoniano, com a presença de tixotropia; sendo possível também confirmar a incorporação do peptídeo ao sistema. A espectroscopia UV e a CLAE comprovaram que a maior parte do peptídeo é incorporada à fase líquido-cristalina do sistema. Os ensaios biológicos mostraram que o sistema líquido-cristalino possui atividade contra bactérias muito menor que o peptídeo livre. Identificação de genes candidatos ao desenvolvimento de Leiomiomas Uterinos

Uterine leiomyomas (UL) are benign smooth muscle tumors from myometrium, representing the major indication for hysterectomies and a significant public health problem. Several genetics alterations have been associated with its development and pathogenesis. Although the initial factors that lead to the development of uterine leiomyomas are unclear, there are several evidences showing that ovarian steroids, estrogen and progesterone, are associated with these tumors.Recent reports, however, show others genes related with distinct signalization pathways besides sex hormones, which may be or not activated by these hormones, are associated with uterine leiomyomas development. In this study, the AHR, ESR1, ESR2, PGR and WNT7A gene transcripts expression was evaluated using quantitative real time RT-PCR in 58 UL samples compared to five normal myometrium tissues to explore the hormonal molecular basis of these tumors and associate these expression pattern with clinical and pathological features. The present study showed AHR, ESR1, ESR2, PGR and WNT7A down expression in 60%, 43%, 52%, 60% e 40% of the tumors, respectively, and a significant AHR loss of expression compared with the controls samples (P=0.0130). The comparison between the genes expression values revealed a positive correlation between the AHR and ESR1 transcripts (P<0.0001; r=0.6911) and between the genes ESR1 and WNT7A (P<0.0001; r=0.5655). The expression pattern was compared with clinical and pathological features. The WNT7A gene presented a differential expression pattern between the proliferative and secretory phase of menstrual cycle (P=0.0373) and the AHR and ESR1 genes were differentially expressed between women in reproductive and menopause years (P=0.0267; P=0.0415, respectively). Um Estudo da modelagem matemática na educação matemática e seu potencial para o desenvolvimento do pensamento crítico

The implementation of mathematical modeling curricula represents a great challenge, both for teachers and students, since it escapes the traditional teaching methodology, i.e. when the teacher speaks to his/her students. This work presents, at least, one possible way of implementing mathematical modeling inside the classroom, and how this way encourage critical thinking in students. I see mathematical modeling as an opportunity to minimize student's rejection and increase their interest for mathematics, promoting their competencies to give points of scene in every day situations. The history of mathematics shows that mathematical modeling had developed since almost the beginning of human live, when men needed to solve problems that arose in the course of his life. Mathematics has become more and more abstract, but it is important to recall what was originated it. In this way, it is possible to make this subject matter more meaningful to students. I will make an introduction of mathematical modeling, presenting some important definitions. Based on this framework, I will present a classroom instruction understand on a 7 th grade classroom by myself. With this in instruction I sustain the idea that mathematical modeling has, in fact, a great potential to improve the quality of mathematics teaching. I also sustain that, the development of critical thinking, as a competence, way be achieved with it

The increasing amount of information about public management conveyed by government electronic portals in the internet has attracted the attention of scientific research, which has resulted in reviews of the contribution of such channels of public communication for the expansion of citizenship. It is the duty of the government to inform citizens effectively as well as using effective language to deal with different ways of relating with each public. Desenvolvimento de um conversor estático PWM para o acionamento de LED’S para iluminação publica

This work deals with the development of a switched-mode power supply circuit based on a Buck topology converter with a Boost Rectifier One-Cycle Control with Power Factor Correction developing, thus, a source of direct current for a module of 50 power LEDs that will be used in a lamp for public street lightning. It is presented, at first, some aspects about the most common technologies used in lamps of public street lightning in Brazil and a comparison with the White LED high power, which is the one that presents itself as the most promising among the existing market. Then it is presented the detailed development of the static converter switched PWM, consisting of a Boost rectifier with power factor correction and methodology of control One-Cycle Control associated with a Buck converter controlled by a PI method that operates as a direct current source . At the end of the simulation results of the circuit through the PSIM software are presented to verify the design behavior

Provides elements for a reflection on methodological strategies in the face of objects of study that prove difficult to approach. Through a case study in education, seeks to show that difficulties in obtaining information and data have been overcome by using an analytical model developed. It is shown that its use allowed inferences broader and reveal hidden inconsistencies in discussions on public and private education. Intended to assist reflection on qualitative research methods for those who deal with such studies. Concludes that the current expectations of management efficiency and transfer of resources sufficient quantity and quality have not materialized with a private enterprise under public education, even if we have succeeded in building a positive image by the promoters of this action with the sectors of public opinion. Prevailing trade policy interests at the expense of the motivations declared the initiative of aid to education, and even can not be said that the initiative has resulted in a private redefined the public character of the systems affected, there is evidence that its implementation represents a unique chapter focused "education", compared to a scenario in which stand out historically mutual aid agreements of a politicaleconomic development between state and private enterprise.

O direito de propriedade e a aplicação da função social da propriedade pública no Brasil

O Direito de propriedade, seguindo o desenvolvimento da sociedade, evoluiu e suportou grandes transformações ao longo da história. Diversas foram as concepções que surgiram para explicar sua natureza, partindo da idéia exposta no regime feudal, onde somente ao senhor cabia o direito de propriedade, passando para um conceito que consagrou a propriedade como um direito sagrado e inviolável, até acolher expressa e constitucionalmente sua função social, na consagração máxima ao princípio da Soacialidade, reflexo da publicização do Direito Civil moderno. Mesmo nos dias atuais, trata-se de um assunto emblemático haja vista sua utilização tímida na administração publica, muito embora o princípio da função social da propriedade tenha sido genericamente consagrado na Constituição Federal de 1988, igualmente adotado pelo Código Civil de 2002. O presente artigo, de caráter multidisciplinar, composto de duas fases, se propõe a analisar, inicialmente, a (in)aplicabilidade da função social dos bens públicos dominicais, estudo que se situa em uma zona cinzenta entre o Direito Constitucional, o Direito Administrativo e o Direito Civil. Para tanto, será feito uso dos princípios de interpretação constitucional, a fim de se alcançar o real sentido da norma estatuída nos artigos 170, III, 182 e 186, da Carta Política de 1988, além dos artigos 421, 1228, 1239 e 1240, das normas de direito material, e da análise do Estatuto das Cidades, inovação constitucional que delega aos Municípios a competência para impor a desapropriação, como decorrência última das sanções suportadas pelo proprietário, em razão do uso degenerado da propriedade urbana. Portanto, ainda que a aplicação da função social aos patrimônios públicos nos parece redundante, já que compete ao Estado a garantia do bem comum, resulta necessário, no panorama atual, fixar os parâmetros para a construção de um novo modelo de gestão do patrimônio público, atribuindo uma destinação adequada aos bens dominicais ociosos, que atenda a função social e atenda aos interesses públicos, em detrimento dos interesses dos rent seeking, tema abordado na segunda fase de desenvolvimento do presente projeto, conforme se poderá verificar com as conclusões apresentadas, haja vista que a tese apresentada busca revolucionar os modelos atuais de gestão do patrimônio público, que permanece mais público do que nunca, apenas com critérios bem definidos e estabelecidos para sua destinação, que em sendo adequada favorecerá o desenvolvimento econômico, social e cultural da sociedade, reduzindo as desigualdades.

Desenvolvimento local e a construção de uma nova territorialidade: a implantação do Programa Territórios da Cidadania no norte pioneiro do Paraná

The territorial approach of development took an important place in the public politics of the State, also guiding the actions originated from different organizations of the society. The territorial focus, infl uenced by the analysis related to the industrial districts, is highlighted as a specifi c form to dealing with process and situations spatially delimited. In Brazil, the Secretary of Territorial Development, linked to the Ministry of Agrarian Development, since 2003, has adopted it strategically through the Programa Nacional de Desenvolvimento Sustentável dos Territórios Rurais (PRONAT). In 2008, had occurs the implantation of the Programa Territórios da Cidadania, a part of the PRONAT and of the rural development politic directed to the dynamization of the depressed territories constituted by small counties that cover rural and urban areas and activities, overcoming the focus on the rural world. The analysis of the assumptions underlying to the adoption of this strategy on the politic of the rural development in Brazil made through the study of the constitution of the Território Integração Norte Pioneiro (PR), which indicates that the focus of this politic falls more on the effectiveness of the decentralization than the concretization, and implementation, of the social management.

O engavetamento de modelos de ensino superior dentro da universidade pública

This paper explores the contradictions between models conflicting today in Brazilian universities. The conglomeration of isolated institutions, integrated and multifunctional university and university-enterprise, service provider. This last model attempts to integrate higher education institutions to supply chains dominated by capital. Public universities were designed to provide innovative services and train staff researchers for such activity. The training of skilled workforce would be fundamentally task of private universities. But in any case, the onus would be on this training students. This model has been driven from the 1990s, with "instruction manuals" of the World Bank, and in 2000, with the IMF recommendations and, in the case of Latin American universities, Fundación Universia, sponsored by the Santander Bank. The question remains: the university will be able to organize the productive forces which have around research goals and staff training for independent development.
