Programació del robot e-puck amb Microsoft Robotics Studio

Microsoft Robotics Studio (MRS) és un entorn per a crear aplicacions per a robots utilitzant una gran varietat de plataformes hardware. Conté un entorn de simulació en el que es pot modelar i simular el moviment del robot. Permet també programar el robot, i executar-lo en l’entorn simulat o bé en el real. MRS resol la comunicació entre elsdiferents processos asíncrons que solen estar presents en el software de control d’unrobot: processos per atendre sensors, actuadors, sistemes de control, comunicacions amb l’exterior,... MRS es pot utilitzar per modelar nous robots utilitzant components que ja estiguin disponibles en les seves llibreries, o també permet crear component nous. Per tal de conèixer en detall aquesta eina, seria interessant utilitzar-la per programa els robots e-pucks, uns robots mòbils autònoms de petites dimensions que disposen de dos motors i un complet conjunt de sensors. El que es vol és simular-los, realitzar un programa de control, realitzar la interfície amb el robot i comprovar el funcionament amb el robot real

Aquest projecte es basa en la necessitat d’un grup d’entitats culturals de Blanes de tenir un software de gestió integral d’entitats que faciliti el seu funcionament diari. Siguin un esbart, una colla castellera o una coral, generen unes dades molt semblants que permeten dissenyar unes eines genèriques que totes elles poden utilitzar. El software desenvolupat permetrà gestionar les següents dades: socis, actuacions, repertori, participants i galeries d’imatges

Student's watcher : comparison between ASP.NET and PHP+CSS

"Student’s Watcher” is a small Web application which wants to show in a visual, simple and fast way, the evolution of the students. The main project table displays such things as marks and comments about students. We can add a comment for each mark to explain why this mark. The objective is to be able to know if some student has a problem, how is going his year, marks in other courses, or even, to know if he has a bad week in a different subjects. We can see the evolution of students in past years to do an objective comparison. It also allows inserting global comments of student, we have a list of these, and all professors can add new ones, where we can see more general valuations. “Student’s Watcher” was begun in ASP.net, but finally my project would be developed in PHP, HTML and CSS. Este proyecto consiste en la elaboración de las fases de análisis y diseño técnico de un software que permite la gestión integral del área quirúrgica de un centro hospitalario.

Variability of ascending aorta diameter measurements as assessed with electrocardiography-gated multidetector computerized tomography and computer assisted diagnosis software.

Recently, morphometric measurements of the ascending aorta have been done with ECG-gated multidector computerized tomography (MDCT) to help the development of future novel transcatheter therapies (TCT); nevertheless, the variability of such measurements remains unknown. Thirty patients referred for ECG-gated CT thoracic angiography were evaluated. Continuous reformations of the ascending aorta, perpendicular to the centerline, were obtained automatically with a commercially available computer aided diagnosis (CAD). Then measurements of the maximal diameter were done with the CAD and manually by two observers (separately). Measurements were repeated one month later. The Bland-Altman method, Spearman coefficients, and a Wilcoxon signed-rank test were used to evaluate the variability, the correlation, and the differences between observers. The interobserver variability for maximal diameter between the two observers was up to 1.2 mm with limits of agreement [-1.5, +0.9] mm; whereas the intraobserver limits were [-1.2, +1.0] mm for the first observer and [-0.8, +0.8] mm for the second observer. The intraobserver CAD variability was 0.8 mm. The correlation was good between observers and the CAD (0.980-0.986); however, significant differences do exist (P<0.001). The maximum variability observed was 1.2 mm and should be considered in reports of measurements of the ascending aorta. The CAD is as reproducible as an experienced reader.

Este Proyecto Fin de Carrera tiene como principal objetivo el desarrollo de una aplicación web que permita el registro de profesores y usuarios dentro de ella, con el fin de que los profesores elaboren cuestionarios con preguntas de diversa índole (preguntas con más de una respuesta correcta, con varias respuestas entre las que se deberá elegir una de ellas, respuestas textuales, etc.) y los alumnos responder a ellas.

Sistema de Administración de Propiedades Proyecto de Software Libre Wakodi

El trabajo se centra en proporcionar una solución informática para la Administración de Propiedades haciendo uso de nuevas tecnologías y a su vez dotar de las herramientas necesarias para la construcción de una comunidad. El desarrollo de la solución pasa por la descripción de las herramientas empleadas y las etapas para su construcción, que incluyen el análisis, diseño, implementación y posterior implantación. Se hace énfasis en el Framework elegido para demostrar las ventajas de su aplicación. En la construcción de la comunidad se describen las herramientas utilizadas para la difusión del proyecto que incluyen la publicación de una página del proyecto, el uso de redes sociales y páginas publicitarias y la puesta en marcha de un software de colaboración para la administración del desarrollo del proyecto.

Exploring Cross-layer power management for PGAS applications on the SCC platform

Technological limitations and power constraints are resulting in high-performance parallel computing architectures that are based on large numbers of high-core-count processors. Commercially available processors are now at 8 and 16 cores and experimental platforms, such as the many-core Intel Single-chip Cloud Computer (SCC) platform, provide much higher core counts. These trends are presenting new sets of challenges to HPC applications including programming complexity and the need for extreme energy efficiency.In this work, we first investigate the power behavior of scientific PGAS application kernels on the SCC platform, and explore opportunities and challenges for power management within the PGAS framework. Results obtained via empirical evaluation of Unified Parallel C (UPC) applications on the SCC platform under different constraints, show that, for specific operations, the potential for energy savings in PGAS is large; and power/performance trade-offs can be effectively managed using a cross-layerapproach. We investigate cross-layer power management using PGAS language extensions and runtime mechanisms that manipulate power/performance tradeoffs. Specifically, we present the design, implementation and evaluation of such a middleware for application-aware cross-layer power management of UPC applications on the SCC platform. Finally, based on our observations, we provide a set of recommendations and insights that can be used to support similar power management for PGAS applications on other many-core platforms.

Open source software expectations in retail businesses of Igualada : an exploratory study

The emergence of open source software in the last years has become a common topic of study in different fields, from the most technical characteristics to the economical aspects. This paper examines the current status about the literature dealing with economics of open source and explores the uses, infrastructure and expectations of retail businesses and institutions of the town of Igualda about it. This qualitative case study finds out that the current equipment and level of uses of ICTs are low and that the current situation of the town stores is receptive to a potential introduction of open source software.

Using free data mining software and clustering algorithms to find predictors from student qualifications

In this project a research both in finding predictors via clustering techniques and in reviewing the Data Mining free software is achieved. The research is based in a case of study, from where additionally to the KDD free software used by the scientific community; a new free tool for pre-processing the data is presented. The predictors are intended for the e-learning domain as the data from where these predictors have to be inferred are student qualifications from different e-learning environments. Through our case of study not only clustering algorithms are tested but also additional goals are proposed.

UOCJOBS - portal de empleo

El proyecto a desarrollar consiste en la construcción de un portal de empleo para la gestión de ofertas y candidaturas. Esta solución consta de un solo módulo web; constituido por una sección personal y una sección de administración. El desarrollo se ha realizado con la plataforma de Microsoft .NET usando C# como lenguaje de programación.

Búsqueda, selección e implantación de un sistema online de software libre para revisión por pares en congresos científicos

Este proyecto tiene como objetivo implementar un sistema libre bajo GNU/Linux para la recepción y evaluación de trabajos presentados a un congreso argentino sobre sistemas embebidos. Además, se piensa en un futuro en organizar un evento de software libre con revisión de pares, para lo cual sería coherente utilizar un sistema con licencia de software libre.
