O avançar da sobrevida da população traz consigo a cronicidade de algumas doenças, e a visita domiciliar visa ao melhor controle das comorbidades que acometem os pacientes. Algumas dessas doenças reduzem a mobilidade do paciente e por isto tentamos melhorar as visitas domiciliares para reduzir a restrição dos idosos e propagar ensinamentos de como a família, vizinhos e a equipe de saúde podem se tornar bons cuidadores e melhorar a qualidade de vida. Formamos um grupo na unidade básica de saúde com a equipe do Programa de Saúde da Família e o Núcleo de Apoio à Saúde da Família para otimizar essas visitas. Conseguimos melhora significativa da qualidade de vida tanto dos cuidadores quanto dos pacientes em relação a anos passados. A continuidade do programa proverá ganhos em toda a comunidade.

O excesso de peso é um problema nacional que se expressa em aumento da incidência de doenças crônicas não transmissíveis e redução da qualidade de vida da população. Para combater esse quadro foram criados incentivos governamentais que se intensificaram a partir do ano de 2014. Considerando-se essa situação e a relevância do tema, foi proposta uma intervenção para aprimoramento do acolhimento na Unidade Básica de Saúde Dalva da Cruz por meio da implementação da Vigila^ncia Alimentar e Nutricional. Objetiva-se a conscientização dos gestores e da equipe de saúde da família, treinamento da equipe, aquisição de equipamentos antropométricos adequados, reorganização do fluxo interno de pacientes na unidade, valorização da pré-consulta médica com antropometria e envolvimento multiprofissional. Tanto a equipe de saúde quando os gestores municipais devem se conscientizar e se organizar para adequação às recomendações governamentais de forma a abordar o excesso de peso, um importante problema de saúde pública

O Diabetes Mellitus é considerado uma das doenças cônicas que gera um amplos espectro de lesões marco e microvasculares acarretando em alto índice de mortalidade e morbidade em longo prazo. O surgimento dessas complicações, como infarto agudo do miocárdio, acidente vascular encefálico, retinopatia diabética, nefropatia diabética, neuropatia periférica estão diretamente relacionadas ao controle glicêmico inadequado e associação com outros fatores de risco cardiovasculares não controlados. Dentre as possíveis causas para esta má adesão ao tratamento e consequente descontrole glicêmico podemos inferir alguns fatores principais como desconhecimento da doença e suas implicações, má adesão à dieta e atividade física, associação com outros problemas de saúde, falta de condições econômicas para adesão ao tratamento adequado. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo otimizar o acompanhamento dos pacientes diabéticos no município de Delfim Moreira na Estratégia Saúde da Família Ação e Participação visando um melhor controle glicêmico agindo diretamente nas possíveis causas de má adesão. Para contribuir na elaboração do projeto de intervenção foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde com a finalidade de levantar as evidências já existentes sobre o problema objeto deste trabalho. O projeto de intervenção foi elaborado seguindo os passos do planejamento estratégico situacional. Espera-se que as ações que integram o projeto venha contribuir na otimização do acompanhamento dos diabéticos por meio da adesão ao tratamento medicamentoso e não medicamentoso

The efficiency of swine production performance depends on the herd administration, such as good nutrition, sanitary control, facilities and appropriate environmental conditions. The concept of this production model is directly related with the reduction of selective losses and the process control. Each production segment is controlled to reach the optimization in the system totality, it is necessary to apply animals handling concepts, environmental control implementation, diseases control, nutrition control, information concerning in guaranteeing the animal welfare and individual identification. The present work presents as objective the development of the mathematical model to evaluate interactions among the internal atmosphere of the installation and the thermal animals preference, in the expectation of detecting a relationship among the frequency access to the drinking fountain and the atmosphere conditions - temperature, black globe temperature and relative humidity, using as tool the electronic identification. The results obtained by the mathematical model, allowed to conclude accurately the evaluation of the swine thermal preference correlating with the climatic variables in the pregnancy stage.

The purpose of this work was to analyze the logistical distribution of Brazilian soybean by applying a quadratic programming to a spatial equilibrium model. The soybean transportation system is an important part of the soybean complex in Brazil, since the major part of the costs of this commodity derives from the transportation costs. Therefore, the optimization of this part of the process is essential to a better competitiveness of the Brazilian soybean in the international market. The Brazilian soybean complex have been increasing its agricultural share in the total of the exportation value in the last ten years, but due to other countries' investments the Brazilian exportations cannot be only focused on increasing its production but it still have to be more efficient. This way, a model was reached which can project new frames by switching the transportation costs and conduce the policy makers to new investments in the sector.

One of the problems found in mechanical harvest of sugar cane is the lack of synchronism between the harvest machine and the infield wagon, causing crop losses as well as operational capacity. The objective of the present research was to design a system capable of helping to synchronize the sugar cane harvest machine with the wagon. The communication between tractor and harvest machine is wireless. Two ultrasound sensors coupled to the elevator and a microprocessor manage such information, generating a correct synchronization among the machines. The system was tested in laboratory and on field performing its function adequately, maintaining the two machines in synchronization, indicating and alerting the operators their relative positions. The developed system reduced the sugar cane lost in 60 kg ha-1 comparing to the harvest with the system turned off.

The application of sand filters in localized irrigation systems is recommended in the presence of organic and algae contamination. The proper design and maintenance of these equipments are essential to assure an effective water quality control, in order to reduce the emitters clogging, to keep its water application uniformity, and to prevent increasing in the system operation costs. Despite the existence of some references about design, operation and maintenance of these filters, they are dispersed, with not enough details to guarantee the optimization of its hydraulics structure design and the proper selection of porous media to be used. Therefore, the objective of this work was to report a current literature review, relating practical information with scientific knowledge. The content of this review would help to induce and intensify the research on this subject and to contribute so the operational functions for the equipment are reached. It is also expected to assist the improvement of the filtration and flushing processes in the agricultural irrigation and the development of original design procedures and the rational use of these devices.

Losses of horticulture product in Brazil are significant and among the main causes are the use of inappropriate boxes and the absence of a cold chain. A project for boxes is proposed, based on computer simulations, optimization and experimental validation, trying to minimize the amount of wood associated with structural and ergonomic aspects and the effective area of the openings. Three box prototypes were designed and built using straight laths with different configurations and areas of openings (54% and 36%). The cooling efficiency of Tommy Atkins mango (Mangifera Indica L.) was evaluated by determining the cooling time for fruit packed in the wood models and packed in the commercially used cardboard boxes, submitted to cooling in a forced-air system, at a temperature of 6ºC and average relative humidity of 85.4±2.1%. The Finite Element Method was applied, for the dimensioning and structural optimization of the model with the best behavior in relation to cooling. All wooden boxes with fruit underwent vibration testing for two hours (20 Hz). There was no significant difference in average cooling time in the wooden boxes (36.08±1.44 min); however, the difference was significant in comparison to the cardboard boxes (82.63±29.64 min). In the model chosen for structural optimization (36% effective area of openings and two side laths), the reduction in total volume of material was 60% and 83% in the cross section of the columns. There was no indication of mechanical damage in the fruit after undergoing the vibration test. Computer simulations and structural study may be used as a support tool for developing projects for boxes, with geometric, ergonomic and thermal criteria.

The aim of this research was to optimize osmotic dehydration of pineapple, according to two criteria: maximize water loss and minimize solid gain. The process was made as an application to Combined Methods Technology, in which three preservation factors were combined: water activity, pH and chemical preservatives, all being applied at low levels, in order to get a product resembling non-processed fruit. The experiment was divided into three treatments, being: non-coated pineapple pieces (A), pieces coated with alginate (B) and coated with low-methoxyl pectin (C). Process involved the following main steps: enzymatic inactivation of fruit pieces; in treatments B and C, incorporation of their respective coatings; and osmotic dehydration, in sucrose syrup containing potassium sorbate and citric acid. Optimum conditions, determined from Response Surface Methodology, were the following: dehydration of fruit pieces coated by alginate, at 42-47° C, in sucrose syrup at 66-69° Brix, for 220 to 270 minutes. Results indicated that both coatings significantly affected the mass transfers of the process, reducing solid incorporation and increasing water loss; therefore, increasing weight loss and performance ratio (water loss: solid incorporation) took place. Water activity was not significantly affected by the coatings. The product obtained under optimum conditions was submitted to sensorial evaluation, and presented a good general acceptance. Moulds and yeasts countings indicated good microbiological stability of the product for at least 60 days at 30ºC.

Amyloglucosidase enzyme was produced by Aspergillus niger NRRL 3122 from solid-state fermentation, using deffated rice bran as substrate. The effects of process parameters (pH, temperature) in the equilibrium partition coefficient for the system amyloglucosidase - resin DEAE-cellulose were investigated, aiming at obtaining the optimum conditions for a subsequent purification process. The highest partition coefficients were obtained using 0.025M Tris-HCl buffer, pH 8.0 and 25ºC. The conditions that supplied the highest partition coefficient were specified, the isotherm that better described the amyloglucosidase process of adsorption obtained. It was observed that the adsorption could be well described by Langmuir equation and the values of Qm and Kd estimated at 133.0 U mL-1 and 15.4 U mL-1, respectively. From the adjustment of the kinetic curves using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta algorithm, the adsorption (k1) and desorption (k2) constants were obtained through optimization by the least square procedure, and the values calculated were 2.4x10-3 mL U-1 min-1 for k1 and 0.037 min-1 for k2 .

The possibility of using a graphite silicone-rubber composite electrode (GSR) in a differential pulse voltammetric(DPV) procedure for rutin (vitamin P) determination is described. Cyclic voltammograms of rutin presented a reversible pair of oxidation/reduction peaks respectively at 0.411 and 0.390 V (vs. SCE) at the GSR surface in Britton-Robinson(B-R) buffer solution pH 4.0. In DPV after optimization of conditions, an oxidation peak at 0.370 V (vs. SCE) was used to quantitative determination of rutin in B-R buffer solution pH 4.0. In this case a linear dynamic range of 5.0×10-8 to 50.0×10-8 mol L-1 was observed with a detection limit of 1.8×10-8 mol L-1 for the analyte. Recoveries from 94 to 113% were observed. The electrode surface was renewed by polishing after each determination, with a repeatability of 1.09 ± 0.06 µA (n = 10) peak current. Rutin was determined in a pharmaceutical formulation using the proposed electrode and the results agreed with those from an official method within 95% confidence level.
