Variação temporal e espacial da taxa de sedimentação e das características limnológicas na microbacia do córrego da Barrinha, no município de Pirassununga, SP

Studies regarding the quality and quantity of water have become more and more important because of the increasing negative environmental impacts occurred and their scarcity increase as well. At the Center of Tropical Fish Research (Centro de Pesquisas de Peixes Tropicais - CEPTAlIBAMA) located in the city of Pirassununga, SP, there is a dam named Represa Velha which supplies 128 tanks that are fish hatcheries. This dam takes in part of the Barrinha stream micro-basin where it has been observed strong impacts due to the deforestation of its support forest, as well an the intensive agricultural activities in the neighboring areas. There has been established and distributed 13 points of water-collectors disposed inside the stream and the dam. The water samples were taken from the stream only from its surface because of the low depth and, inside. In the dam, the water samples were taken at the water column, at a 50cm distance over the sediment. In every point of collection inside the dam, it was placed a chamber of sedimentation, vertically in the water column at a 70% height from the total depth. The collections took place during the dry/cold and raining/warm periods of the years 2000 and 2001. Then, it were analyzed the physical, physical-chemical, chemical and micro-biological parameters of the water samples. The obtained results were statistically analyzed throughout the SAS system (Statistical Analisys System). Parameters such as total phosphate, nitrate, nitrite and turbidity were within the established limits for the Class 2 water, according to the n° 20/1986 CONAMA Resolução. However, the total and Escherichia coli coliforms, mainly inside the Barrinha stream, had showed values above of the established limits for the same... Desenvolvimento de um sistema para navegação de robôs móveis por caminhos em plantações

The use of mobile robots in the agriculture turns out to be interesting in tasks of cultivation and application of pesticides in minute quantities to reduce environmental pollution. In this paper we present the development of a system to control an autonomous mobile robot navigation through tracks in plantations. Track images are used to control robot direction by preprocessing them to extract image features, and then submitting such characteristic features to a support vector machine to find out the most appropriate route. As the overall goal of the project to which this work is connected is the robot control in real time, the system will be embedded onto a hardware platform. However, in this paper we report the software implementation of a support vector machine, which so far presented around 93% accuracy in predicting the appropriate route.

Aplicação do conceito de geração distribuída a um sistema fotovoltaico residencial

This work presents a study about distributed generation using photovoltaic systems in the context of smart grids. The characteristics of a Smart Grid and the several aspects this concept involves - distributed generation among them - are discussed. There are also examples of equipment, like smart meters, and of national and international projects. The specificities of distributed generation and the rules and standards necessary in this sort of installation are talked through with focus in the solar energy generation method. Regarding photovoltaic systems, the working principles of the panels are presented, along with its main electrical characteristics and the technologies available. Finally there is a study concerning the sizing of a distributed generation system that involves photovoltaic panels in a residential plant. An analysis of the costs and return of investment period is made about the specific case in consideration.

This paper addresses the difficulties and best practices of a quality system of an automotive parts company. In it will be discussed the features and benefits of the proper use of a system of management and quality assurance. It emphasizes the proper use of tools and methodologies that aim improving the quality of processes and products. It also has some guidance information given by the standards of quality which helps the implementation of the quality system and the standards are important because it attests to the quality of companies. So, this work has as objective to guide the creation and management of the quality system in auto parts companies, which seek an increase in the quality of products and processes, it also helps to certify companies in the current quality standard for the sector, ISO TS 16949, and thus increases the competitiveness of companies in this market. As result, this paper resumes good practices, difficulties and key steps for creating and managing a quality system

A região de Araraquara e a constituição do local: experiência em desenvolvimento rural a partir do SAI - Sistema Agroindustrial Integrado

The research aims to map and understand the SAI- Integrated Agroindustrial System of SEBRAE, topic program directed to small and medium "rural entrepreneurs". The SAI policy seeks targeted result saiming to qualify productive agents (smallholders) to a "mark et under construction". In the study I high light the "production location", as a constituent en vironment with own productive and defining characteristics of this location and of the productive agent. I aim to perceive the location (region of Araraquara) as a topic en vironment of a type of "alternative "agriculture, that in principle is “parallel” to the large hegemonic model of the economies of scale, of monoculture and concentrative, which in the region is taken as that of the "sugarcane industry". I understand the coexistence of these different models as central to understand the development of capitalism, which I treat as "cognitive capitalism".

Reabilitação estética do sorriso por meio do sistema cerâmico dissilicato de lítio: relato de caso

The reestablishment of a harmonious smile through dental ceramics, when properly conducted and with specific indications, can achieve extremely predictable results. For aesthetic and functional rehabilitation, many ceramic materials can be used such as zirconia, leucite, alumina, feldspar, and lithium disilicate. Among these materials the lithium disilicate stands out due to the following characteristics: its resistance to wear, to chemical attack, high temperatures and oxidation; low electrical conductivity; near zero thermal expansion; good optical properties and biocompatibility with periodontal; excellent esthetics; color stability and reinforcement of tooth structure. The indications for the use of lithium disilicate are not limited to multiple facets of teeth in cases where there was no favorable response to tooth whitening, and also comprehend teeth with multiple restorations, diastema closure, shape alteration, and dental contouring, replacement of missing or fractured teeth, among others. The versatility of lithium disilicate ceramics allows its utilization in several clinical situations. The concomitant use of lithium disilicate for veneers and over metal has satisfactory aesthetic results, as reported in the present studying cases that require both aesthetics and resistance.

Acogimiento en el proceso de formación de los odontologos en Brasil: un analisis en el contexto del Sistema Unico de Salud (SUS)

To define the profile of Dentistry’s academics, on the welcoming reception of patients/users attended in the Public Institution, under the guidelines of the SUS. Methods: A structured questionnaire was applied to 163 students, which contained questions that covered five variables (reception, dialogue and listening, action and care first contact, professional identity) and conducted an interview to associate to responses obtained during the first phase. Quantitative data were tabulated and analyzed by descriptive statistics in SPSS 16.0 and qualitative data analyzed through discourse of the collective subject. Results: It was observed that, intellectually, the most of student (70.7%) understand the concept and the repercussion of the welcoming reception process in health and many have caring characteristics. However, the pedagogic system formation makes it difficult or systemizes an integral and spontaneous welcoming action. Conclusions: The academics have the embracement profile but it is need more motivation in the humanization of the university teaching.
