The War, 21 November 1812 (vol. 1, no. 22) - Newspaper

Volumes of interest were published between 1812 and 1815 with articles about the War of 1812.

Most of this volume consists of correspondence between high ranking U.S. and British statesmen. E.g., James Madison, James Monroe, The Marquess Wellesley (brother of Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington). The discussion centers around the War of 1812. Also includes facsimilies of treaties signed between Great Britain and Sweden, Russia and Sicily.

This letter describes a visit downtown for shopping and a walk and a planned outing to the theater that evening followed by dinner. The letter is labelled number 80.

E.C. Reynolds discusses furthering her French lessons with her friend Mrs. MacCracken. She also mentions the upcoming concert for the Presbyterian Church, where she will be playing the ukulele.

The letter discusses the upcoming eye operation for Mrs. Reynolds (E.C. Schmon's mother). The second letter mentions her sister is ill and needs tending to while her mother is not able to wait on her. The letter is labelled number 105.

This letter is very faded and difficult to read. It mentions that she leaves one letter on a counter while picking up a parcel and the there is a written note included: "Miss Reynolds - Am holding a letter you left on my counter when you bought these towels - will hold it until you call -" This letter is labelled number 235.

Eleanore Celeste mentions a visit to Rahway with her sister. She also discusses Xmas gifts she is sewing. The letters are labelled number 51, 52 and 53.

The report describes several raids, including "the Austrians, under orders from the Kaiser and with the object of putting new enthusiasm into their disheartened people, launched a big offensive, which the Italians have handled to date masterfully."
