Virtual Reality is a relatively new technology in the relatively young field of computer science. The design of Virtual Reality has only recently come into discussion, as well as the implications for this sort of design. I hope to determine how a user can work most efficiently and accurately in a Virtual World. By studying this, I hope to help in the standardization of Virtual Reality design.

A presente dissertação trata da estruturação de um cluster de economia criativa no centro da cidade de São Paulo, voltado à área de tecnologia. A escolha da região central, assim como da economia criativa como impulso para a requalificação econômica e reocupação social da área, tem como objetivo enfrentar o problema do esvaziamento do centro da cidade, impulsionando o empreendedorismo e o posicionamento da região como local de convivência. Para análise da viabilidade e adequabilidade dessa proposta optou-se por uma pesquisa aplicada, cujos procedimentos englobaram uma breve revisão da literatura e também entrevistas com profissionais do setor criativo. Foram realizados estudos de casos internacionais e nacionais; estudo da legislação brasileira; avaliação do nível de desenvolvimento dos setores criativos em São Paulo e reflexão sobre as vocações da cidade. Com essa bagagem, iniciou-se a modelagem do cluster de tecnologia do Distrito Criativo da Sé/República, por meio da qual se objetivou traçar propostas de ações que pudessem ser desenvolvidas em curto, médio e longo prazos. Foram apresentadas ações mais imediatas, como a realização de um branding das atividades já em andamento, medidas realizáveis no médio prazo, como a concretização de parcerias, e outras um tanto mais estruturantes, como a requalificação de espaços e de projetos. Todas essas medidas almejam otimizar a ação municipal na busca pela reocupação da região e, consequentemente, na atração de investimentos para o local, de modo a frear o processo de degradação e alavancar o processo de reposicionamento do centro da cidade de São Paulo como valioso núcleo econômico e cultural para o Município. Com o presente trabalho, chega-se à conclusão de que há exemplos no Brasil e no mundo que podem servir de inspiração para o desenvolvimento da ação proposta e que a possibilidade de se gerar um impacto positivo, mesmo em épocas de dificuldades orçamentárias, é bastante plausível.

The paper presents a discussion about gender and body in the drag queens experience at Natal city (RN). From the different concepts that characterizes the identity processes on subjects who perform gender transformation (transvestites, transsexuals and female impersonators), the justification for studying the drag character is observed as a means to understand matters that are important when you take such a position. Therefore, there is a need for a linkage between the various concepts responsible for this definition, in addition to considering the historical and cultural process responsible for the creation of such categories, identities and stereotypes among these individuals. In this sense it will be possible to carry out a critical analysis on the different social loads present in each representation, and understand what is at stake in the attribution of classifications and terminologies that are applied to different expressions of metamorphosis. This ethnography considers the debate from a field research conducted at LGBT social establishments and other performance spaces of these people, verifying their dynamics in these places and investigating relationships between performers, personas and characters and also backstage scene in which they participate

A madeira roliça possui grande emprego nas construções civis, desempenhando a função de vigas, colunas, fundações, postes para distribuição de energia elétrica, entre outras, apresentando a vantagem de não ser processada, como é o caso da madeira serrada. O projeto envolvendo elementos roliços requer, além de outras variáveis estruturais, o conhecimento do módulo de elasticidade. No Brasil, os documentos normativos que tratam da determinação das propriedades de rigidez e resistência para peças roliças de madeira estão em vigência há mais de vinte anos sem revisão técnica. A madeira roliça, por geralmente possuir eixo com curvatura não nula, pode apresentar, segundo a posição da peça no ensaio de flexão, valores diferentes do módulo de elasticidade. Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisara influência da posição de peças roliças de madeira de Eucalyptus grandis na determinação do módulo de elasticidade na flexão. O ensaio de flexão utilizado é o de três pontos, sendo cada peça avaliada em duas posições distintas, definidas mediante o giro da seção transversal em torno do eixo. Os resultados encontrados indicam a necessidade do ensaio de flexão em, pelo menos, duas posições distintas da peça.

This research aims at studying the formation of internal consultants in organizational setting in the joint resolution of problems, around the conversion of knowledge. The objective of research is to understand and explain the meanings attributed by Petrobras internal consultants to their practice and training for the conversion process of tacit knowledge into explicit, around the joint resolution of their problems with their collaborators. It has directed the next question: what the meanings assigned by the consultants of Unidade de Negócios Rio Grande do Norte e Ceara (UN-RNCE) in Knowledge Management (KM), for their interventionist and formative practices in problem solving, as well as conversion of tacit knowledge in explicit? This paper has assumed that there is a dual logic integrated into its daily practices: solving troubles and converting knowledge. The thesis has considered the daily practices of these consultants are characterized as epistemic spaces and permanent education through the conversion of knowledge. It has adopted the principles of multi-referential approach as foundations, regarding the translation of a variety of angles, perspectives and prospects which allow the interpretation and understanding of complex issues that are part of conversion of knowledge. The understanding and explanation of the senses are based on the methodology of the comprehensive interview; taking ownership is the sensitive listening for comprehensive interpretation of oral discourses of ten consultants, in addition to the autoscopy that putting into practice, thus, the stance of the researcher as an intellectual craftsman. Furthermore, it has assessed that the limits and possibilities for training and learning in the conversion of knowledge arise, on one hand from a predominantly driven training culture by the paradigm of technical rationality and one the other hand, from a set of relationship to knowledge and relation to know , revealed in the search for training in other dimensions. There are tensions between the local and global demands located in a situation marked by a systemic organization of knowledge. However, the context is perceived by researchers as impregnated by the discontinuity, unpredictability and uncertainty; mobilizing a number of elements necessary for the mediation in training practices of these consultants. Finally, it has set an instrumental and technological support, restricting the formation and undermining the position of the consultancy as nuclear function in Knowledge Management

This Study inserts in Mathematical Education & Education that search to investigate the (self) formation of formers that gets graduation e pass to graduate others that get graduation and are formers in Mathematical Education. This Is a qualitative search in a perspective from search-formation.The work is formed of four topics. First topic talks about : The self-formation of formers. Second topic: at way of suppositions theorical-methodological from search. Third topic tells over: The life of a former life. Fouth topic A Station called Ubiratan D´Ambrosio created in his reverence and for build all the Knowledge´s Corpus developed by his studies and searches. It´s in sense of come and go from knowledge created at action by mankind to get finality of Transcendency and Survive. Look for to investigate aspects of academical, professional and personal life where are translated in language, thinking and practices oriented for one know-how holistical and transdiciplined in a reflexion, search and the critical it constitute to be a Professor, Teacher, Searcher and Etnomathematic that confered him the merit in 2005 the Prize Félix Klein, that declared Valente (2007), maximum distinction that can receive someone from Mathematical Education. The results point that the narratives of life´s stories are prominences to one re-direction of teach practical in formation´s courses of Mathematical teachers, opening spaces for what the teachers and particularly of Mathematical thinking and take position about your process of formation to be Formers. The Study also given possibilities to propose fourteen stoppages in Station that are beginnings with direction that emerge from studies and searches about the trajectory of life of Professor Ubiratan D´Ambrosio in perspective of re-signify the formative process in education and Mathematical Education

Self-organizing maps (SOM) are artificial neural networks widely used in the data mining field, mainly because they constitute a dimensionality reduction technique given the fixed grid of neurons associated with the network. In order to properly the partition and visualize the SOM network, the various methods available in the literature must be applied in a post-processing stage, that consists of inferring, through its neurons, relevant characteristics of the data set. In general, such processing applied to the network neurons, instead of the entire database, reduces the computational costs due to vector quantization. This work proposes a post-processing of the SOM neurons in the input and output spaces, combining visualization techniques with algorithms based on gravitational forces and the search for the shortest path with the greatest reward. Such methods take into account the connection strength between neighbouring neurons and characteristics of pattern density and distances among neurons, both associated with the position that the neurons occupy in the data space after training the network. Thus, the goal consists of defining more clearly the arrangement of the clusters present in the data. Experiments were carried out so as to evaluate the proposed methods using various artificially generated data sets, as well as real world data sets. The results obtained were compared with those from a number of well-known methods existent in the literature

We study Hardy spaces on the boundary of a smooth open subset or R-n and prove that they can be defined either through the intrinsic maximal function or through Poisson integrals, yielding identical spaces. This extends to any smooth open subset of R-n results already known for the unit ball. As an application, a characterization of the weak boundary values of functions that belong to holomorphic Hardy spaces is given, which implies an F. and M. Riesz type theorem. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. We present a new procedure to construct the one-dimensional non-Hermitian imaginary potential with a real energy spectrum in the context of the position-dependent effective mass Dirac equation with the vector-coupling scheme in 1 + 1 dimensions. In the first example, we consider a case for which the mass distribution combines linear and inversely linear forms, the Dirac problem with a PT-symmetric potential is mapped into the exactly solvable Schrodinger-like equation problem with the isotonic oscillator by using the local scaling of the wavefunction. In the second example, we take a mass distribution with smooth step shape, the Dirac problem with a non-PT-symmetric imaginary potential is mapped into the exactly solvable Schrodinger-like equation problem with the Rosen-Morse potential. The real relativistic energy levels and corresponding wavefunctions for the bound states are obtained in terms of the supersymmetric quantum mechanics approach and the function analysis method.
