Dentro da perspectiva de demonstrar a importância do agente comunitário de saúde e a considerável relação deste profissional com a satisfação no trabalho para o efetivo desenvolvimento de suas tarefas dentro do Programa de Saúde da Família, são apresentadas questões observadas no cotidiano dos agentes. Para um melhor entendimento, é fundamental uma retrospectiva histórica, desde a Promoção da Saúde até a implantação do Programa de Saúde da família que surge como uma nova estratégia de atenção à saúde e de reorientação do modelo de assistência. À luz das bibliografias analisadas e do convívio no ambiente de trabalho é possível constatar que: o agente comunitário de saúde é a chave que abre os caminhos para uma nova realidade social e assistencial; e que a satisfação no trabalho, retratada pela forma de inserção do Programa de Saúde da Família na Unidade Básica, a capacitação, o reconhecimento da classe, o equilíbrio da equipe, e a expectativa em seu trabalho são elementos primordiais para que ele possa agir comprometidamente, com a comunidade, gerando os resultados desejados pela nova estratégia de saúde da família.

A Estratégia Saúde da Família é um modelo assistencial, operacionalizado mediante ações preventivas, promocionais, de recuperação e reabilitação das equipes de saúde da família. O desenvolvimento de suas principais ações se dá por meio dos Agentes Comunitários de Saúde. Eles agem como facilitadores na criação de vínculos, na reorganização do trabalho em equipe, na ampliação do acesso aos serviços de saúde e na comunicação entre usuários e profissionais de saúde. Também têm a função de desenvolver atividades de prevenção e promoção da saúde por meio de ações educativas individuais e coletivas, nos domicílios e na comunidade, sob supervisão competente. Assim, é possível notar que o processo de formação desse profissional merece mais atenção de gestores e profissionais da equipe. Contudo, sua capacitação mostra-se insuficiente e deficitária, sem preparação adequada para o exercício profissional. Este trabalho objetiva elaborar um Projeto de Intervenção para Capacitação dos Agentes Comunitários de Saúde da Estratégia Saúde da Família Canadá, em Contagem-MG. O Diagnóstico Situacional foi obtido por meio do método de Estimativa Rápida. Para desenvolvimento do plano de intervenção foi utilizado o método de Planejamento Estratégico Situacional. O embasamento teórico foi feito com pesquisa nas bases de dados da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde. Conclui-se que os Agentes Comunitários de Saúde precisam ser reconhecidos e valorizados em relação ao seu papel na equipe de saúde. Eles levam informações às famílias e dialoga com elas, aproximando-as do serviço de saúde. A formação dos ACS é tão importante para a ESF quanto o é a especialização dos demais profissionais para o atendimento na unidade de saúde
Capacitação profissional dos Agentes Comunitárias de Saúde no município de Lagoa Santa, Minas Gerais

Introdução: esse Projeto de Intervenção foi desenvolvido no município de Lagoa Santa que possui 17 unidades de atenção primária à saúde, onde atuam as Equipes de Saúde da Família. Constatou-se que a Unidade Básica de Saúde Novo Santos Dumont havia o problema que traz maior impacto à população adscrita que é a falta de qualificação profissional das Agentes Comunitárias de Saúde (ACS). Objetivo geral: elaborar um programa de qualificação para os agentes comunitários de saúde no município de Lagoa Santa. Metodologia: inicialmente realizou-se uma fundamentação teórica foi realizada por meio de um levantamento de literatura baseado nos módulos do Curso de Especialização em Atenção Básica em Saúde da Família e em revisão de literatura. O Plano de Ação engloba um curso de capacitação para incremento do conhecimento técnico-científico com aulas expositivas, visitas domiciliares para acompanhamento dos ACS e reuniões para discussão de casos. A avaliação do curso será realizada por instrumentos de prova e verificação de habilidade. Resultados esperados: melhorar o conhecimento das ACS e melhorar o processo de trabalho da equipe.

Inulin is a functional food ingredient, generally employed as sugar or fat substitute in food systems. This ingredient can be found in several vegetal products, including chicory roots. As the solubility of inulin is susceptible to temperature changes, the product suffers a fractionalization resulting in two phases when cooled, originating a precipitated phase, more viscose, and a liquid phase, of lesser viscosity. The study of rheological properties of different phases of inulin extract is important for equipment designing, such as mixer and bombs. In this work, rheological behavior at three different temperatures (25; 40 and 50 ºC) was determined for liquid and precipitated phases of inulin liquid extract, extracted from chicory roots by hot water diffusion and cooled at two different temperatures (8 and -10 ºC), suffering phases separation. The precipitated phase was analyzed in two conditions: pure and with the addition of microencapsulating agents (maltodextrin and hydrolized starch). All of them presented a linear behavior, similar to that of the Plastics of Bingham. Some of them, however, were not an adequate fit to this model.

In Brazil the adoption of several models of cattle confinement leads to special conditions for management methods in dairy production, which can be improved by the use of technology that assures better herd management. Indexes relating environmental variables to production are applied for the prediction of milk production. The values of temperature and relative humidity, rain index, solar radiation and pasture soil temperature are generally considered potential stress agents for cows. The objective of this research was to develop an index for predicting milk production for high productivity Jersey milking cows lodged in semi confinement in tropical conditions. The experiment considered two treatments: A - the cows waited for 30 minutes prior to milking in a room with a shower associated to a fan; B - the cows did not have access to this room (control). Other than the waiting period, the cows had access to pasture. Differences in the effect of average production were not statistically significant. The analysis for studying the effect of the variables and designing the model led to a statistical model relating the variables milk production and rain index, as well as the maximum soil temperature of pasture, and milk production.

The purpose of this work was to analyze the logistical distribution of Brazilian soybean by applying a quadratic programming to a spatial equilibrium model. The soybean transportation system is an important part of the soybean complex in Brazil, since the major part of the costs of this commodity derives from the transportation costs. Therefore, the optimization of this part of the process is essential to a better competitiveness of the Brazilian soybean in the international market. The Brazilian soybean complex have been increasing its agricultural share in the total of the exportation value in the last ten years, but due to other countries' investments the Brazilian exportations cannot be only focused on increasing its production but it still have to be more efficient. This way, a model was reached which can project new frames by switching the transportation costs and conduce the policy makers to new investments in the sector.

The field activities are essential for the education of a good taxonomist. The most common problems found in field activities are: a) large number of students, b) heterogeneous educational background and unlevelled knowledge of the participants, c) repetitions and tendency of collecting the more evidents life-forms. The causes and consequences of such problems are discussed herein. The proposed solution is a methodology, based on many years of experience in field courses for undergraduate and graduate courses. Topics about the ideal number of participants, area of coverage, period of activity, division of work and the necessary material and equipment are discussed. According to the number of species collected at the same place, this methodology may result in a list of local species with precise information about the life-forms, habitat, common names, frequency, uses, phenology and further information in this kind of work. The results of the aplication of this metodology in a field course held in the region of Ubatuba-SP are presented.

Losses of horticulture product in Brazil are significant and among the main causes are the use of inappropriate boxes and the absence of a cold chain. A project for boxes is proposed, based on computer simulations, optimization and experimental validation, trying to minimize the amount of wood associated with structural and ergonomic aspects and the effective area of the openings. Three box prototypes were designed and built using straight laths with different configurations and areas of openings (54% and 36%). The cooling efficiency of Tommy Atkins mango (Mangifera Indica L.) was evaluated by determining the cooling time for fruit packed in the wood models and packed in the commercially used cardboard boxes, submitted to cooling in a forced-air system, at a temperature of 6ºC and average relative humidity of 85.4±2.1%. The Finite Element Method was applied, for the dimensioning and structural optimization of the model with the best behavior in relation to cooling. All wooden boxes with fruit underwent vibration testing for two hours (20 Hz). There was no significant difference in average cooling time in the wooden boxes (36.08±1.44 min); however, the difference was significant in comparison to the cardboard boxes (82.63±29.64 min). In the model chosen for structural optimization (36% effective area of openings and two side laths), the reduction in total volume of material was 60% and 83% in the cross section of the columns. There was no indication of mechanical damage in the fruit after undergoing the vibration test. Computer simulations and structural study may be used as a support tool for developing projects for boxes, with geometric, ergonomic and thermal criteria.

A common breeding strategy is to carry out basic studies to investigate the hypothesis of a single gene controlling the trait (major gene) with or without polygenes of minor effect. In this study we used Bayesian inference to fit genetic additive-dominance models of inheritance to plant breeding experiments with multiple generations. Normal densities with different means, according to the major gene genotype, were considered in a linear model in which the design matrix of the genetic effects had unknown coefficients (which were estimated in individual basis). An actual data set from an inheritance study of partenocarpy in zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.) was used for illustration. Model fitting included posterior probabilities for all individual genotypes. Analysis agrees with results in the literature but this approach was far more efficient than previous alternatives assuming that design matrix was known for the generations. Partenocarpy in zucchini is controlled by a major gene with important additive effect and partial dominance.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the assistance quality through the perception of the users and municipal health managers (mayors, health secretaries and screening team). Methods: A transversal and descriptive study was carried out. Results: The sample was comprised by 359 users and 48 managers. Medical assistance was considered excellent by 79.6% of the users, 93.7% of the managers, 87.5% of the health secretaries and 100% of the screening team. Reception received a great evaluation by 73.8% of the users and 93.8% of the selectors. Conclusion: The assistance model used at the Ophthalmologic Clinic of Divinolândia obtained a high level of satisfaction pleasing both users and managers.
