Si sou calbs i voleu deixar de ser-ho, o si la vostra parella és calba i enyoreu aquells cabells llargs i espessos que lluïa a l'època hippie, esteu de sort. Però aneu alerta, perquè si sou d'aquelles persones que els agrada dir que no té pèls a la llengua, potser ara us en sortiran. O almenys això és el que hom pot pensar després de sentir una de les darreres notícies de ciència de gran ressò mediàtic: s'ha aconseguit que a un ratolí modificat genèticament per no tenir cap pèl li'n creixin. Els artífexs han estat els membres d'un equip de recerca de l'Institut Kennedy Krieger de la Johns Hopkins University, dels EUA, encapçalat per Catherine Thompson. I esclar, molts ja s'imaginen lluint llargues i espesses cabelleres on ara només tenen lluentors [...].

Metodologia analítica para quantificar o teor de biodiesel na mistura biodiesel: diesel utilizando espectroscopia na região do infravermelho

Considered the best substitute for diesel, biodiesel can be blended with diesel in any ratio, bringing lots of environmental, economic and social advantages. Brazilian law Nº 11097/2005, proposes the introduction of biodiesel in to the Brazilian energy matrix, mixed with diesel at a minimum percentage of 2%. For consumers and sellers to be sure that the commercialized mixture of biodiesel:diesel contains the correct percentage, it is necessary to develop analytical methodologies to quantify the amount of biodiesel added. This work presents a fast, low-cost and simple methodology to determine the biodiesel proportion in mixtures of biodiesel:diesel, based on infrared spectroscopy.

Efeito antagônico do ferro e do zinco em uma formulação de alimentação enteral utilizando planejamento de misturas da metodologia de superfície de resposta

Nutritional therapy with enteral diets became substantially specialized over the last years. This work's aim was to study the effect of the components of a formulation: fiber, calcium and medium-chain triglycerides for dialysability of minerals. Analysis of multiple variables was carried out using response surface methodology. The level curve showed an antagonic effect of interaction between iron and zinc. TCM was the variable responsible for characterizing competition between the two minerals in the formulation. More studies on foods are needed for knowing the effecs of minerals in formulations.

Uma metodologia simples e eficiente para a cloração de compostos aromáticos ativados utilizando o ácido tricloro-isocianúrico

The chlorination of activated aromatic rings is efficiently achieved under mild conditions by reaction of aromatic compounds with trichloroisocyanuric acid in acetonitrile, at room temperature, leading to products in 60-95% isolated yields and good regioselectivity.

Aplicação da metodologia de planejamento fatorial e análise de superfícies de resposta para otimização da fermentação alcoólica

In the present work, the influence of the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus and degrees Brix on the yield and productivity of alcoholic fermentation has been evaluated. The methodology used was factorial design and response surface analysis. Within the range studied only for phosphorus a statistically significant effect was observed. The broth of sugar cane of the CB 453 variety already possessed enough nitrogen for the fermentation. The mathematical and empirical model was validated for productivity and not for yield. The concentration of alcohol produced in the fermentation was not enough to cause cellular growth inhibition.

Desenvolvimento de metodologia analítica para determinação de colesterol em ração para ruminantes através de planejamento experimental fatorial

A chromatographic method was developed for cholesterol determination in feed for ruminants using response surface methodology. Among the five approaches of sample preparation methods tested, the saponification of the sample without heating presented less interference in the gas chromatography. The method presented a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 4.3%, recoveries between 84 and 87% and detection limit of 0.001 mg of cholesterol per g of feed.

La implementació de l’assignatura en elGrau de Farmàcia ha suposat pensar en una nova estratègia per tal de desenvolupar algunes competències transversals de laUniversitat de Barcelona i afavorir en els alumnes la integració dels coneixements.Els professors, de les unitats i grups d’innovació docent de Farmacologia i de Toxicologia, vam estimar quins continguts eren imprescindibles, constatant que alguns d’ells s’impartien ja en altres assignatures, i vam adoptar la següent estratègia: 1) re-elaborar els continguts ja impartits i emmarcar-los en l’entorn de la indústria farmacèutica; 2) presentar nous continguts; iprincipalment, 3) elaborar una bateria d’activitats centrades en el procés de R+D+i d’un fàrmac concret, el dabigatran. El disseny i el desenvolupament de les activitats s’han elaborat en base alEuropean Public Assessment Report (EPAR) per el dabigatran i l’NDA (New Drug Application) a la FDA per la seva autorització.

Aplicação da metodologia de superfície de resposta no estudo da produção e extração da poligalacturonase

The aim of this work was to verify the effects of initial medium moisture content (U), addition of ammonium sulphate (N) and of potassium phosphate (P) in the production of the polygalacturonase through the solid-state fermentation, using cashew apple husk as substrate and Aspergillus niger CCT0916 as transformation agent. We also studied the best extraction conditions of the produced enzyme. The best condition of production was with U of 40%, 1% of N and 0% of P being reached an activity of the poligalacturonase of 10.1 U/g. The best extraction condition is an agitation system with a time of 100 min and a solvent-fermented medium volume ratio of 5 mL/g.

Validação de metodologia analítica por cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência para quantificação de bupivacaína (S75-R25) em nanoesferas de poli(lactídeo-co-glicolídeo)

Bupivacaine (S75-R25, NovaBupi®) is an amide type local anesthetic widely used. The present work consists of the development and validation of analytical methodology for evaluation of NovaBupi® content in the poly-lactide-co-glycolide nanospheres (PLGA-NS) by high performance liquid chromatography. The separation was made using the reversed-phase column LC-18, acetonitrile/phosphate buffer 85:15 v/v as mobile phase and detection at 220 nm. The results obtained show that the analytical methodology is accurate, reproducible, robust and linear over the concentration range 10-220.0 g/mL of NovaBupi®. The method was applied to determine the encapsulation efficiency and evaluate the release profile of NovaBupi®, showing good results.

De la metodologia a la pràctica : anàlisi de les metodologies d'ensenyament musical i elaboració d'una proposta metodològica per a la pràctica docent en l'àmbit del llenguatge musical a les escoles de música

Aquest treball vol ser una revisió d'algunes de les principals metodologies desenvolupades al llarg del segle XX per l'ensenyament del llenguatge musical. Aquesta revisió serà completada amb una anàlisi comparada de les visions filosòfiques i els objectius didàctics de les diferents propostes, d'on extreure unes conclusions per a una possible nova proposta didàctica. Les metodologies que s'analitzen són les dels següents autors: Émile Jaques-Dalcroze, Carl Orff, Zoltán Kodály, Edgar Willems i Maurice Martenot.

Contribució de la psicomotricitat al desenvolupament de les capacitats i a l'adquisició de competències en Educació infantil

L’article pretén posar de manifest la contribució que es fa des de la pràctica psicomotriu al desenvolupament de les capacitats definides en l’actual currículum d’educació infantil. Entenem la psicomotricitat com la pràctica educativa que implica la globalitat de l’infant, mobilitzant les seves estructures motores, socioafectives i intel·lectuals. També atén el seu procés global a partir de les vivències corporals plaents que l’activitat motriu li proporciona. La sessió de psicomotricitat és un espai d’aprenentatge on els petits aprenen a aprendre, a saber fer i a saber ser i a estar en relació amb els altres

Bowing the violin : a case study for auditory-motor pattern modelling in the context of music performance

This project addresses methodological and technological challenges in the development of multi-modal data acquisition and analysis methods for the representation of instrumental playing technique in music performance through auditory-motor patterning models. The case study is violin playing: a multi-modal database of violin performances has been constructed by recording different musicians while playing short exercises on different violins. The exercise set and recording protocol have been designed to sample the space defined by dynamics (from piano to forte) and tone (from sul tasto to sul ponticello), for each bow stroke type being played on each of the four strings (three different pitches per string) at two different tempi. The data, containing audio, video, and motion capture streams, has been processed and segmented to facilitate upcoming analyses. From the acquired motion data, the positions of the instrument string ends and the bow hair ribbon ends are tracked and processed to obtain a number of bowing descriptors suited for a detailed description and analysis of the bow motion patterns taking place during performance. Likewise, a number of sound perceptual attributes are computed from the audio streams. Besides the methodology and the implementation of a number of data acquisition tools, this project introduces preliminary results from analyzing bowing technique on a multi-modal violin performance database that is unique in its class. A further contribution of this project is the data itself, which will be made available to the scientific community through the repovizz platform.
