The future journalists must be made aware of this phenomena that involves a important change in the society. One of the ways can be the study of the empowerment and Social Capital Formation techniques, using the new Information and Communication Technologies, or following the example of the Open Universities to the Third Age that are appearing all over the world. In this article we’ll study the case of “Programa Universitario para Mayores” (University Program for the Grown ups), at Seville University (Spain).

A formação continuada, o uso do computador e as aulas de ciências nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental

The present article aims to discuss a process of continuing education which was focused on Science teaching and computer use considering the school as the locus of training. This process was intended for teachers who taught in the first years of Primary School. The research was developed with a qualitative approach, focusing on participant observation. It was aimed to characterize the educational practices, considering the elaboration of scientific knowledge, the development of experimental activities and the educational possibilities of the Information and Communication Technologies. The results reveal the involvement of the group in an attitude of research and reflection, and the utilization of collective spaces for constant discussion regarding the issues of classroom and teaching action.

Educação a distância na sociedade da informação: reflexões acerca dos processos de comunicação, ensino e aprendizagem na sala de aula virtual

Information and communication technologies (ICT) pervade the daily lives of people affecting relations and social subsystems. Education is not unrelated to this process and in this scenario the distance education (EaD). Considering as a starting point the information society and its characteristics, the objective of this paper was to analyze the relationship between the new information and communication technologies, teaching and learning in the virtual classroom, seeking to understand what is the design of teaching and learning inherent in the current generation of EaD. Thus, by means of analytical, descriptive and exploratory research, bibliographic and qualitative approach oriented, it was concluded that ICT has a very important role in the context of EaD, allowing the creation of interactive virtual learning environments that enable communication between teachers, tutors and students, making possible the Exchange and sharing of key information on the teaching and learning process.
