Mortalidade materna

Apresenta alguns dados referentes à mortalidade materna no Brasil e mundo segundo a Organização Mundial da Saúde e as ações que possam ajudar na redução deste indicador, tendo em vista que o índice de mortalidade materna é um dos principais indicadores social de qualidade de vida e de desenvolvimento humano.

Dificuldades na amamentação materna exclusiva: a atuação da equipe saúde da família

O presente estudo constitui-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, com enfoque na dificuldade da amamentação materna exclusiva e a atuação da equipe Saúde da Família. A discussão dessa temática se fez pertinente em razão da importância do aleitamento materno para o binômio mãe-filho e pelo aleitamento materno ser considerado hoje uma questão de saúde pública. Sendo assim, faz-se necessário algumas reflexões sobre seus benefícios e valores, e que os profissionais de saúde busquem conhecimentos para incentivar este ato de amor. Recomendações para a prática diária dos profissionais são feitas, considerando os conceitos pesquisados.

Contribuição do pré-natal pelas equipes de saúde da família na redução da mortalidade infantil e materna

Considerando a importância da realização do pré-natal na redução da mortalidade materna e infantil, este estudo objetivou identificar parâmetros e propor um fluxo de ações padronizadas que abranja à atenção do pré-natal ao puerpério, possibilitando uma melhoria dos serviços pré-natais; a partir de evidências da literatura científica, registrar as bases conceituais que demonstrem a contribuição e relevância que as equipes de Saúde Família podem trazer à realização da atenção pré-natal e que possam contribuir para sensibilizar outras equipes de Saúde da Família para a realização do mesmo, visando à redução da mortalidade materna e infantil no município de Itapecerica, Minas Gerais. Foi realizada uma análise da produção científica sobre o tema proposto, por pesquisa bibliográfica. Os resultados evidenciaram que a atenção pré-natal realizada de forma adequada é o maior fator de adesão das gestantes, com excelente cobertura e, principalmente, impacto na redução da mortalidade materna e infantil. Esse trabalho apresenta 15 pontos para um fluxo de ações de cuidado, do pré-natal ao período puerperal, pelas equipes de Saúde da Família do município de Itapecerica-MG.

Atualmente nos deparamos com muitos problemas de saúde que acometem crianças em todo o mundo, pela falta de nutrientes e anticorpos em seu organismo recém-nascido. Infelizmente nos dias atuais a nutrição da criança é fortemente influenciada pela condição socioeconômica de sua família. Fatores ligados às características da família, habitação e saúde juntamente com a promoção, proteção e apoio ao aleitamento materno são de extrema importância, porém os profissionais da saúde necessitam de mais conhecimento para que possam assistir às mães que amamentam de forma adequada, assumindo condutas que realmente apoiem e protejam tal prática. Este estudo tem como objetivo pesquisar as influências das orientações sobre a amamentação no pós-parto, buscando demonstrar a importância de uma equipe preparada para transmitir as mães desses bebês informações adequadas e importantes sobre a amamentação, eliminando dúvidas, mitos, tradições e modernismo que muitas vezes tem influenciado as mães na decisão de amamentar seus bebês até os dois anos de idade.

As vozes da sociedade: letramento, consciência e poder

The dialectic tension between the phenomenon of illiteracy and the remedial efforts of the literate to provide a voice for those who don t have one, reflects at the same time the difficulties that the emerging discourses have to struggle with, and highlights the importance of this struggle as one that belongs to the opressed, not the well-meaning educators and political activists. It also informs the latter s efforts on behalf of the uneducated. Naturally these issues have attracted a good deal of attention of some specialists in South America. There is now a movement afoot there that aims at placing illiterate discourse inside the societal discourse proper without letting the latter manipulate the former for its own ends. I will address the typical exigencies and limitations inherent in such efforts, but at the same time point to new ways of understanding and handling the problem of literacy in a developing country.

Resonancias discursivas y cortesía en prácticas de lecto-escritura

In this paper we present a study of reading comprehension based on a contrastive argumentative-discursive approach. We examine the relationship between linguistic materiality and discursive processes, observing the connection between reading in a foreign language, writing production and textual memories in the mother tongue. In addition to an interest in practical language teaching and learning processes (in this case of Spanish and Portuguese), we investigate the question of politeness and the theoretical relationship between subjectivity, language, and textuality. The latter, being understood as the result of discourse regularities, is unique for each and every production, yet is also conditioned by plural discursive memories resulting from contradictory social relationships in a specific historical context (Foucault, 1986; Pêcheux, 1990). In the experiment presented here, we follow some of the procedures of the methodology applied in the European Galatea Project developed for the study of reading strategies in the inter-comprehension between Romance languages (Dabène, 1996). We use the procedure of simulation and the subjective projection of participants as well as the notion of discursive resonance in the analysis. The results, having to do with directness and indirectness in speech and the question of politeness in two typologically close languages, lead to the conclusion that the concept of politeness goes beyond a pragmatic strategy used to avoid conflicts to be approached as a marker of cultural identity constitution. The relevance of discursive awareness and its theoretical and practical consequences are then emphasized.

A responsabilidade de traduzir o in-traduzível: Jacques Derrida e o desejo de [la] tradução

How should one consider the responsibility of the translator, who is located between the differences of two linguistic systems and in the middle of the various idioms constitute each of the languages involved in the translation? (P. Ottoni). What is the role of the translator in inter-acting with both his/her mother tongue and the idiom of the other? These two questions will be discussed in order to reflect on the responsibility of translating the un-translatable. Two hypotheses orient the paper: 1 - an idiom spoken idiomatically is known as the mother tongue and is not appropriated, so that accommodating the other in one's own language automatically considers his/her idiom (J. Derrida) and 2 - face-to-face with language and its idioms, the translator is trapped in a double (responsibility) bind; faced with something which cannot be translated, he/she is forced to perceive it in another way. In conclusion, how should one consider the responsibility of translating the un-translatable Jacques Derrida?

O ensino de línguas para crianças no contexto educacional brasileiro: breves reflexões e possíveis provisões

This article aims at discussing about the foreign language teaching to young learners, taking the principles of the Sociocultural Theory (Vygotksy, 1978) and of the Communicative Approach (Almeida Filho, 1993, 2005) related to Primary English teaching (Cameron, 2001; Brewster, Ellis & Girard, 2002) as a theoretical references. Considerations about the importance of language learning in childhood will be made, as well as about the role of the grammar, oral language and mother tongue in the process. Likewise, the importance of Teacher Education will be briefly approached. This work is ended with the discussion about some possible procedures in the language teaching processes followed by a brief presentation of possible guidelines based on the bakhtinian notion of discourse genres.

As dimensões da linguagem em livros didáticos de inglês para o Ensino Fundamental I

This article aims at discussing and articulating views of language under sociocultural, dialogic and discourse perspectives, in order to present a theoretical framework as far as the analysis of textbooks of English as a foreign language for the Brazilian Ensino Fundamental I is concerned. Due to the limited number of studies in this field, to the still considerably structural approach of the English language teaching and learning in our country nowadays and to the important mediation role textbooks play in language education, we believe our work can contribute positively to the construction of critical and multiple literacies, which, in turn, can support an active and transformative educacional process in the present times.

Tradução & aprendizado de língua estrangeira: o ponto de vista do aluno

This paper reports some exemplary data related to a research project on the role of translation in foreign language teaching-learning. The data were collected through a questionnaire administered to 47 Brazilian ESL learners. Specifically, the points of the analysis are: how the translation process is conceived by the students; why and when the translation is used by the learners in classroom situations; mother tongue/foreign language relationships in this specific context, among other aspects. The findings reveal that translation, when used a mediating resource for foreign language teaching-learning, can promote target language management.
