掺铒磷酸盐玻璃波导放大器的特性研究

研究了掺铒磷酸盐玻璃波导放大器的特性。利用重叠因子将980nm光抽运的掺铒玻璃波导放大器四能级模型的速率-传输方程进行化简，在考虑上转换效应和放大自发发射的情况下．利用数值模拟的方法，得到了掺铒玻璃波导放大器的增益与Er^3+离子浓度、抽运功率、波导长度等参量之间的关系曲线；同时模拟出放大自发发射曲线并与实验测量结果进行比较。结果表明在考虑上转换效应和放大自发发射的情况下,理论结果和实验测量结果是一致的。同时看到，选择合适的铒离子浓度是制作掺铒玻璃波导放大器的关键；并且为了全面发挥掺铒玻璃波导放大器的性能

Fabrication and amplified spontaneous emission spectrum of Er3+-doped tellurite glass fiber with D-shape cladding

Tellurite glass is proposed as a host for broadband erbium-doped fiber amplifiers because of their excellent optical and chemical properties. A single-mode Er3+-doped tellurite glass fiber with D-shape cladding was fabricated in this work. The characterization of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) from this newly fabricated Er3+-doped tellurite fibers are exhibited. When pumped at 980 nm, a very broad erbium ASE nearly 150 nm around 1.53 mum is observed. The changes in ASE with regard to fiber lengths and pumping power were measured and discussed. The output of 2 mW from Er3+-doped tellurite fiber ASE source was obtained under the pump power of 660 mW. The broad 1.53 mum emission of Er3+ in tellurite glass fiber can be used as host material for potential broadband optical amplifier and tunable fiber lasers. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. Modelling and simulation of the second-order Doppler error of a laser dual-frequency interferometer

Only the first- order Doppler frequency shift is considered in current laser dual- frequency interferometers; however; the second- order Doppler frequency shift should be considered when the measurement corner cube ( MCC) moves at high velocity or variable velocity because it can cause considerable error. The influence of the second- order Doppler frequency shift on interferometer error is studied in this paper, and a model of the second- order Doppler error is put forward. Moreover, the model has been simulated with both high velocity and variable velocity motion. The simulated results show that the second- order Doppler error is proportional to the velocity of the MCC when it moves with uniform motion and the measured displacement is certain. When the MCC moves with variable motion, the second- order Doppler error concerns not only velocity but also acceleration. When muzzle velocity is zero the second- order Doppler error caused by an acceleration of 0.6g can be up to 2.5 nm in 0.4 s, which is not negligible in nanometric measurement. Moreover, when the muzzle velocity is nonzero, the accelerated motion may result in a greater error and decelerated motion may result in a smaller error.

Higher order vortex gyrotropic modes in circular ferromagnetic nanodots

Magnetic vortex that consists of an in-plane curling magnetization configuration and a needle-like core region with out-of-plane magnetization is known to be the ground state of geometrically confined submicron soft magnetic elements. Here magnetodynamics of relatively thick (50-100 nm) circular Ni80Fe20 dots were probed by broadband ferromagnetic resonance in the absence of external magnetic field. Spin excitation modes related to the thickness dependent vortex core gyrotropic dynamics were detected experimentally in the gigahertz frequency range. Both analytical theory and micromagnetic simulations revealed that these exchange dominated modes are flexure oscillations of the vortex core string with n = 0,1,2 nodes along the dot thickness. The intensity of the mode with n = 1 depends significantly on both dot thickness and diameter and in some cases is higher than the one of the uniform mode with n = 0. This opens promising perspectives in the area of spin transfer torque oscillators.

The proposed Lune net limitation order 1999 and associated byelaws

The River Lune rises in the hills around Tebay in thje North of England and runs through rural farming country to Morecambe bay. It is generally considered as a river of high purity and unspoiled nature. The salmon fishery was at one time considered amongst the best in England and Wales, with very high catches to both rod and net fishermen. During the late 1960's the disease UDN decimated the stock. Since then there has been a recovery of the stock, but this is considered by most anglers and netsmen to be a partial recovery of some of the previous stock components. In recent years anglers and netsmen have voiced their concerns over the Lune stock and have lobbied for action to improve the Lune fishery. This net limitation order (NLO) and the separate byelaw in conjunction with habitat improvement are proposed as part of the strategy for future conservation and management of this salmon fishery. The fishery is currently exploited by 37 licensed netsmen, the highest number of any single estuary in England and Wales. There are 26 haaf, 10 drift and 1 seine nets available. Current estimates of the rod fishery are that 1100 to 1400 anglers fish 14 000 days per year. The River Luhe is one of the few rivers within England and Wales that has the benefit of an accurate fish counter. The counter is at Forge Weir approximately 4 km upstream of the tidal limit. The counts, together with records of the catches from the rod and net fishery, enable a reasonably accurate assessment of both rod and net exploitation. Extensive surveys of the juvenile population, carried out in 1991 and 1997, provide additional information. The purpose of this document is to describe and explain the current state of the salmon population in the River Lune and in doing so, demonstrate the current need for stock conservation. A second purpose is to demonstrate that the proposed NLO and byelaw package should allow the salmon population to reach its conservation target (spawning escapement target).

Modelo de estudo do mecanismo de Gribov através de operadores locais compostos

O objetivo desta dissertação é apresentar uma conexão entre a condição de Gribov-Zwanziger para o gap de massa e o mecanismo de quebra espontânea de simetria, através do estudo de um operador composto introduzido numa maneira localizada. Para tornar esta relação mais clara, um modelo é apresentado e alguns aspectos quânticos são discutidos.
