O relatório que se apresenta neste trabalho insere-se no âmbito do Projeto/Estágio integrante do Mestrado em Equipamentos e Sistemas Mecânicos, Área de Especialização em Construção e Manutenção de Equipamentos Mecânicos, do Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Coimbra. Este estágio decorreu na empresa Engebasa, em Cubatão – São Paulo, Brasil. O estágio envolveu a participação no desenvolvimento e implementação de vários sistemas mecânicos para a melhoria do processo produtivo de torres eólicas, com particular destaque para um carro de movimentação de troços de torres, cujo desenvolvimento, cálculo estrutural e processo de fabrico se descreve neste trabalho. O carro de movimentação desenvolvido, com características inovadoras, enquadrou-se na necessidade de um sistema que permitisse a deslocação automatizada dos troços de torres eólicas entre os vários setores produtivos, permitindo desta forma uma otimização dos tempos de fabricação, o aumento da capacidade de produção e a consequente redução do custo final de cada torre. O protótipo do projeto desenvolvido encontra-se em funcionamento na Engebasa, estando atualmente em construção mais quatro unidades para instalar num novo setor industrial da empresa Engebasa, situada em Porto Alegre - Brasil estando em produção.

Questa tesi di laurea si occupa di valutare degli interventi di miglioramento dell’efficienza energetica per un’industria ceramica. In coerenza con gli impegni assunti nel pacchetto Clima Energia, il Decreto legislativo n° 102 del 4 luglio 2014, stabilisce l’obiettivo nazionale di risparmio energetico che consiste nella riduzione, entro il 2020, di 20 milioni di tonnellate equivalenti di petrolio dei consumi di energia primaria, conteggiati a partire dal 2010. Inoltre tale decreto stabilisce un regime obbligatorio di efficienza energetica costituito dal meccanismo dei certificati bianchi, il quale dovrebbe contribuire al raggiungimento del 60% dell’obiettivo. Sulla base di queste direttive è stato effettuato presso uno stabilimento ceramico uno studio di fattibilità che si articola nelle seguenti fasi: 1.Analisi energetica del sistema attuale finalizzata all’identificazione delle richieste energetiche in termini di produzione e consumi. 2.Analisi impiantistica finalizzata alla scelta delle macchine e delle soluzioni tecniche di dettaglio. 3.Analisi economica finalizzata alla valutazione del costo di generazione di energia elettrica e termica relativamente ai sistemi oggetto di studio. 4.Valutazione della sostenibilità dell’investimento per ogni opzione considerata, mediante l’applicazione del metodo economico del valore attuale netto (VAN), per ottimizzare il tempo di rientro dall’investimento. Le tipologie di intervento proposte sono: 1)Recupero dell’aria di raffreddamento del forno, che scaldandosi a contatto con la piastrella, ha un contenuto entalpico elevato e quindi può essere utilizzata nel reparto di essiccazione. 2)Sostituzione dei bruciatori esistenti ed obsoleti del forno di cottura bicanale con 192 nuovi kit di bruciatori "autorecuperativi". 3)Implementazione di un impianto di cogenerazione costituito da un motore a combustione interna, recuperando i gas esausti e parte dell’acqua del circuito di raffreddamento ad alta temperatura.

In questo lavoro vengono indagati i benefici dell’aumento della pressione d’iniezione dell’AdBlue nei sistemi SCR. Dopo aver esposto le ipotesi teoriche a supporto della tesi, si passa all’allestimento del veicolo dimostrativo impiegato per l’attività sperimentale. In questa fase viene illustrato tutto il processo di preparazione, che comprende: la messa a punto del circuito idraulico, la caratterizzazione degli iniettori impiegati, la strumentazione della linea di scarico, e il software INCA impiegato per il comando delle centraline. Dopodiché vengono descritti nel dettaglio i test, condotti con il veicolo sperimentale, sul banco a rulli. Attraverso le prove, eseguite su due differenti punti motore, si è potuto dimostrare l’effettivo aumento di efficienza di abbattimento degli NOx, da parte del sistema SCR, all’aumentare della pressione d’iniezione dell’AdBlue. Inoltre si hanno effetti positivi anche in merito al fenomeno dell’ammonia slip, che viene sensibilmente ridotto ai livelli di pressione più alti.

Questo elaborato si pone l’obiettivo di dimensionare un prototipo di macchina aggraffatrice, utilizzata per creare la giunzione tra il fondo del barattolo, il corpo del barattolo stesso e la testa o cupola. La progettazione, in particolare, ha richiesto anche la verifica dei motori necessari alla movimentazione della macchina, con particolare attenzione alla fase di arresto di emergenza, in cui le inerzie in gioco risultano essere elevate e la durata del transitorio molto breve. Viene descritta la macchina nel dettaglio, focalizzandosi sulle principali caratteristiche che la rendono peculiare, procedendo poi con la costruzione di un modello cinematico complessivo, seguita dall’analisi cinematica del sistema. Si focalizza, in seguito, sul transitorio durante l’arresto di emergenza e, di conseguenza, sulla verifica dei motori, riducendo i modelli di ciascun sottogruppo della macchina all’albero motore. Il transitorio di emergenza viene analizzato anche con un secondo metodo, dove il dimensionamento del motore viene verificato con l’utilizzo di un software appositamente studiato per la scelta di servomotori. T he socio - economy of the coastal municipalities of Rio Grande do Norte semiarid coast was analyzed th r ou g h by the actors, ant hropogenic implications, fishing environment and composition of its fish fauna, as well as the trend of product ion landed by the artisanal fleet with the aim of identifying the sustainability and management. In this study, were used participatory methodologies, monthly data of rainfall between September 2001 and December 2010; landings of the artisanal fleet during January 2001 to December 2010; and socioeconomic (IBGE, 2002/2010), (IDEMA, 2011/2012), (MPA, 2010; 2012), UNDP and MS (2013). Based on these data, we performed analysis of variance were performed using the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process (HAP) and s tatistical models of multiple regression and time series. It was identified that the occupation of the coastal and marine zone through salt industry, tourism, shrimp farming, oil and gas and wind energy reconfigured the environment and attracted new actors . Rainfall influenced the catches, of which 35% occur in the rainy season, 40% in the dry season and 25% independent. Production increased 55%, in the period analyzed , being landed in 31 ports spread over 11 municipalities, cap tured in environments mangrov e/ estuarine (23%), coastal (46%) and oceanic (31%). Despite market up 41 species, were commercialized in the region production concentrated in eight, mainly landed in Macau and Caiçara North, by vessels of small and medium - sized (motorized and sailboats) . Highlights included three species ( Hirundichthys affins , Coryphaena hippurus and Opisthonema oglinum ), which together accounted for 63.3% of the whole volume. It was found that the motorized vessels tripled in number while sailboats reduced by half. Landin gs by different types of vessels tend to increase over time, while the small sailboats vessels, decrease. The introduction of more new motorized vessels and sailboats also tend to increase production. The study concluded that GDP and HDI of coastal countie s increased however inequality persisted. The potential of artisanal fishing is in the stage “ unfavorable ” of development and the trend in fish production is to grow over time and with the entry of more vessels. However, it is urgent that the state actions to promote and enhance planning to restore fish stocks in a sustainable and profitable fisheries standards. Therefore, it is recommend the strategic use of natural resources in a sustainable development perspective.

The constant necessity for new sources of renewable energy is increasingly promoting the increase of investments in this area. Among other sources, the wind power has been becoming prominent. It is important to promote the search for the improvement of the technologies involved in the topologies of the wind turbines, seeking for alternatives which enhance the gotten performance, despite the irregularity of the wind speed. This study presents a new system for speed control, in this case applied to the wind turbines - the Electromagnetic Frequency Regulator (EFR). One of the most used devices in some topologies is the mechanical gearboxes which, along with a short service life, often represent sources of noise and defects. The EFR does not need these transmission boxes, representing a technological advancement, using for that an adapted induction machine, in which the stator becomes mobile, supportive to the axis of the turbine. In the topology used in this study, the EFR also allows us to leave out the usage of the eletronic converters to establish the coupling between the generator and the electrical grid. It also the reason why it provides the possibility of obtaining the generation in alternating current, with constant voltage and frequency, where there is no electrical grid. Responsable for the mechanical speed control of the generator, the EFR can be useful in other transmission systems in which the mechanical speed control output is the objective. In addition, the EFR operates through the combination of two inputs, a mechanical and other electrical. It multiplies the possibilities of application because it is able to synergistic coupling between different arrays of energy, and, for such reasons, it enables the various sources of energy involved to be uncoupled from the network, being the synchronous generator responsible for the system connection with the electrical grid, simplifying the control strategies on the power injected in it. Experimental and simulation results are presented through this study, about a wind turbine, validating the proposal related to the efficience in the speed control of the system for different wind conditions.

The objective of this study was to determine the seasonal and interannual variability and calculate the trends of wind speed in NEB and then validate the mesoscale numerical model for after engage with the microscale numerical model in order to get the wind resource at some locations in the NEB. For this we use two data sets of wind speed (weather stations and anemometric towers) and two dynamic models; one of mesoscale and another of microscale. We use statistical tools to evaluate and validate the data obtained. The simulations of the dynamic mesoscale model were made using data assimilation methods (Newtonian Relaxation and Kalman filter). The main results show: (i) Five homogeneous groups of wind speed in the NEB with higher values in winter and spring and with lower in summer and fall; (ii) The interannual variability of the wind speed in some groups stood out with higher values; (iii) The large-scale circulation modified by the El Niño and La Niña intensified wind speed for the groups with higher values; (iv) The trend analysis showed more significant negative values for G3, G4 and G5 in all seasons and in the annual average; (v) The performance of dynamic mesoscale model showed smaller errors in the locations Paracuru and São João and major errors were observed in Triunfo; (vi) Application of the Kalman filter significantly reduce the systematic errors shown in the simulations of the dynamic mesoscale model; (vii) The wind resource indicate that Paracuru and Triunfo are favorable areas for the generation of energy, and the coupling technique after validation showed better results for Paracuru. We conclude that the objective was achieved, making it possible to identify trends in homogeneous groups of wind behavior, and to evaluate the quality of both simulations with the dynamic model of mesoscale and microscale to answer questions as necessary before planning research projects in Wind-Energy area in the NEB

The use of energy from renewable sources is increasingly demanded by society, especially aeolian - whose raw material is wind. Investments in wind power have become significant in Brazil with emphasis on the Northeast and in particular the Rio Grande do Norte state. According to the Empresa de Pesquisa Energética (Energy Research Company) (2012 ) , investments in the state grew significantly since 2002 with a total accumulated power, by 2013, of approximately 3,400 MW . Even with the early experiences of exploitation of wind energy in 2002, it is still considered new and requires further study referring to the likely changes in the environment and society. In this case, it is of growing and urgent importance to deeply study the wind still in the survey phase of the project, ie , at the beginning of decision making on the most feasible to implement these parks site. Given the above, the question is: from a technical and environmental analysis, how to identify viable areas to install Aeolian parks, taking into account the factors of the environmental dynamics that are relevant to minimize the negative results to the environment and the society? Thus, this study conducted a study on technical and environmental feasibility, proposing a methodology of exploration of feasible wind farms in coastal areas. The study area was a fragment of the northern coast of Rio Grande do Norte and its natural landscape units were identified through the environmental characterization of the area, as well as it was elaborated the map of the land cover, restriction homes and urban areas and Permanent Preservation Areas - PPAs. The environmental fragility was subdivided in the fragility of the natural dynamic, mapped through relief, soils and geology of natural units, and the fragility of the ecosystem, originated by the land cover map. In addition to these maps, it was generated the wind resource for an area from a height of 50 and 100 meters. The intersection between the fragility maps, PPAs and Restriction of homes superimposed on maps of wind potential, provided the map of feasibility of Aeolian parks, resulting in the most favorable areas for its facilities in a technical and environmental point of view. From this study, the entrepreneur can evaluate whether or not to proceed with the studies in this area and especially decrease potential conflicts with society.

The setting up of wind power enterprises at Permanent Preservation Areas reflects the obvious conflict and necessary convergence between free market and energy security on the one hand, and the promotion of environmental quality on the other. From the perspective of energy sustainability, and in order to achieve development (in its complex meaning, which converges economic, social, environmental and cultural aspects), the harmonization between free market and an ecologically sustainable environment is required. This work aims to identify the link between the protection system of the Permanent Preservation Areas and the current constitutional order, by analyzing the implementation of wind power enterprises in these protected zones focusing on the proportionality aspects. A legal and purposeful research was developed, from a theoretical method, followed by collecting and analyzing both primary and secondary data. From these data, the law, the legal literature and judicial decisions were cross-examined, under the light of the Constitution and guided by the theory of proportionality and related development imperatives. In this context, the present study identified the link between the principles of the economic order, environment and energy law, finding their basis under the Federal Constitution and development. By reproducing this interrelationship and by means of post-crisis institutional reforms, the guiding objectives of the Brazilian electric sector began to corroborate the precepts of development, although issues regarding its sustainability still persist. The appraisal of proportionality indicates that the Permanent Preservation Areas protection system is insufficient to materialize the right to a healthy quality of life upon the implementation of wind projects at Permanent Preservation Areas, albeit seeking the harmonization between free market and environmental protection.

With the heavy use of bearings in various segments of the industry, there are a large number of necessary interruptions in industrial processes to perform maintenance on these devices, with the case study wind turbines. The growth of the wind energy sector, encouraged to conduct research that helps to solve this problem. To contribute to predictive maintenance has been carried out a signal analysis using techniques which allow detection and location of the problem in order to prevent accidents caused and losses due to unexpected equipment failures, whereas low system rotation complicates the detection of the failure. To work around this problem, there was the indication of standard signals for defects in the bearings, making diagnosis of possible failures. With this diagnosis can be performed predictive maintenance, identifying the failure of the system that were tested, such as the introduction of grains of sand in the bearing, wear on the outer race of the bearing and bearing rust. By processing signals it is possible to construct graphs developing a mapping of defects by different peaks in the frequency band.

Questo progetto di tesi è parte di un programma più ampio chiamato TIME (Tecnologia Integrata per Mobilità Elettrica) sviluppato tra diversi gruppi di ricerca afferenti al settore meccanico, termofluidodinamico e informatico. TIME si pone l'obiettivo di migliorare la qualità dei componenti di un sistema powertrain presenti oggi sul mercato progettando un sistema general purpose adatto ad essere installato su veicoli di prima fornitura ma soprattutto su retrofit, quindi permettendo il ricondizionamento di veicoli con motore a combustione esistenti ma troppo datati. Lo studio svolto si pone l'obiettivo di identificare tutti gli aspetti di innovazione tecnologica che possono essere installati all'interno del sistema di interazione uomo-macchina. All'interno di questo progetto sarà effettuata una pianificazione di tutto il lavoro del gruppo di ricerca CIRI-ICT, partendo dallo studio normativo ed ergonomico delle interfacce dei veicoli analizzando tutti gli elementi di innovazione che potranno far parte del sistema TIME e quindi programmare tutte le attività previste al fine di raggiungere gli obiettivi prefissati, documentando opportunamente tutto il processo. Nello specifico saranno analizzate e definite le tecniche da utilizzare per poi procedere alla progettazione e implementazione di un primo sistema sperimentale di Machine Learning e Gamification con lo scopo di predire lo stato della batteria in base allo stile di guida dell'utente e incentivare quest'ultimo tramite sistemi di Gamification installati sul cruscotto ad una guida più consapevole dei consumi. Questo sistema sarà testato su dati simulati con l'obiettivo di avere un prodotto configurabile da installare sul veicolo.
