Iron(II)-8-quinolinol/MCM-41-catalyzed phenol hydroxylation and reaction mechanism

Iron(II)-8-quinolino/MCM-41 is prepared. Its catalysis is studied in phenol hydroxylation using H2O2 (30%) as oxidant. The experiment shows that Iron(II)-8-quinolinol/MCM-41 has good catalytic activity and desired stability. Based on cyclic voltammetry, ESR, and UV-visible spectra studies of iron(II)-8-quinolinol complex in liquid phase, a radical substitution mechanism is proposed and used to demonstrate the experimental facts clearly. Dependence of decaying of trapped radicals on aggregates on polyamide 1010

The decaying of free radicals in the course of heating, trapped in irradiated polyamide 1010 with different crystallinities, were investigated using an ESR technique. The decaying temperature, at which all radicals decay completely, depends on the aggregation of polyamide 1010 prior to radiation. The higher the crystallinity, the higher the temperature at which the radicals disappear. Dynamically speaking, radicals in specimens with higher crystallinity take longer to decay. Study on the microstructure and properties of nanosized stannic oxide powders

Stannic oxide xerogel was prepared by a forced hydrolysis method using SnCl4 as the precursor. The average grain sizes of the nanosized stannic oxide powders varied with the sintering temperatures. The powders were characterized by several different physico-chemical techniques. TEM was employed for the direct observation on grain sizes, shape and state of aggregation of the particles. XRD technique was used for the determination of the crystalline structure. Microstructural parameters of average crystallite size () and mean-square root microstrain (epsilon(2)>(1/2)) for the samples were calculated from the broadened values of the half-peak intensity of XRD. The atomic ratio between oxygen and tin in the surface region of the particles was estimated through the analysis of XPS. Attributing to lots of oxygen vacancies in the surface region of the nanoparticulates and the 'trapped electrons' in the vacancies, an ESR signal was observed in the sample sintered at 300 degrees C for 2 h. FTIR of the powders showed that intensity of the transverse optical mode of Sn-O stretching vibration increased with the sintering temperature while the bending vibration of O-Sn-O showed a blue shift. For Raman spectra, very important spectral characteristics such as variations of intensity and width of the bands were observed. A new Raman vibrational band located at 572 cm(-1) was identified in the samples of nanosized stannic oxide powders. Variation of these spectroscopic properties were strongly affected by grain size, shape and state of aggregation of the nanosized particulates.

gamma-Radiation damage to nylon 1010 containing neodymium oxide

A comparison of radiation damage to nylon 1010 (denoted nylon-a) and nylon 1010 containing neodymium oxide (Nd2O3) (denoted nylon-b) was made by DSC, WAXD, ESR and the determination of gel fractions. The results show that radiation damage to nylon-b is delayed, and radiation damage to nylon-a is more severe than that to nylon-b, due to the protection of the fold surface of the lamellae. Furthermore, the fact that the damage begins with the fold surface of the lamellae is confirmed. (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Limited

C_(60)及其相关衍生物的生物活性研究具有重要意义.由于C_(60)分子本身是非极性的,难溶于常见的极性溶剂,使得它在生物化学领域的研究和应用受到很大的限制.合成出水溶性的C_(60)衍生物将很好地解决这一问题.1993年Friedman等人发现水溶性C_(60)衍生物[HOCO(CH_2)_2CONH(CH_2)_2-C_6H_4]_2C_(61)具有抗HIVP的作用.黄文栋等人报道了水溶性C_(60)-脂质体对人子宫颈癌细胞具有很强的杀伤效应.最近,Chiang等人采用化学发光的方法研究了多羟基C_(60)衍生物——富勒醇吞噬超氧阴离子自由基的功效,结果表明富勒醇对黄嘌呤/黄嘌呤氧化酶产生的超氧阴离子自由基具有良好的清除作用,有关富勒醇对羟基自由基的清除作用研究未见报道.

Phenol hydroxylation by iron(II) phenanthroline: The reaction mechanism

Phenol hydroxylation catalyzed by iron(II)-1,10-phenanthroline is investigated through kinetics, ESR, W-Vis as well as cyclic voltammogram studies. The optimum reaction conditions are obtained for diphenols production. Radical substitution mechanism is first proposed to explain the effects of pH, reaction medium and other factors on the phenol hydroxylation with H2O2 as oxidant, and found that the coexisting of iron(II)-1,10-phenanthroline and iron(III)-1,10-phenanthroline is the key for phenol hydroxylation to occur with H2O2 as oxygen donor.

Polypyrrole film electrode with Co(W2O7)(6)(10-) and CuW12O406- ions were synthesised in aqueous solutions, The electrode possesses a good stability and cyclic voltammetric behavior in weakly acidic or near neutral solutions, The redox of CuW12O406- ion can be catalysed by the polypyrrole film, The ESR measurement of the polypyrrole film with Co(W2O7)(6)(10-) and CuW12O406- ions indicates that the heteropolyanions not only play the role of neutralizing electricity in the polypyrrole film, contrasted with the film containing NO3-, but also Interact with the polypyrrole molecular chain to form some additive compound, The additive compound affects the electric structure elf the polypyrrole film and is unstable at more positive or more negative potentials.

Electron transfer between Eu and Tb in MMgF(4) systems

Emission of europium(II) and europium(III) have been observed in SrMgF4 : xEu, yTb phosphors which are synthesized in Ar or Ar/H-2 flow. The valence state of Eu is influenced by terbium. It is notable that the intensities of the ESR peaks corresponding to EU(2+) are regularly changed when terbium ion is incorporated. The typical Tb3d XPS spectrum belonging to Tb4+ is also found when Eu is codoped. This phenomena can be explained by electron transfer mechanism Eu3+ + Tb3+-->EU(2+) + Tb4+. And its equilibrium constant is studied by ESR technique.

Synthesis, characterization and catalytic activity for H2O2 decomposition of tetrabasic tungstovanadophosphate heteropoly rare earth element complexes with Dawson structure

Nine tetrabasic tungstovanadophosphate heteropoly rare earth element complexes with Dawson structure were synthesized. Their general molecular formulas are K15H4[Ln . (P2W16VO61)(2)] . xH(2)O(Ln = La3+, Pr3+, Nd3+, Sm3+, Eu3+, Gd3+, Dy3+, Yb3+). Their structures and properties were investigated by IR, UV, NMR, ESR, XRD, TG-DTA. The results showed that the series of complexes have the same structure as K-16[Ce(P2W17O61)(2)] . 50H(2)O. At the same time, the catalytic activity of the complexes for H2O2-decomposition was also investigated.

Electron transfer between Eu3+ and Tb3+ in BaB4O7 matrix

The BaB4O7:Eu, Tb phosphors are first synthesized in air atmosphere. We investigate their luminescent properties, and find that europium(II) and europium(III) can coexist in the BaB4O7:Eu phosphor. We observed that the relative intensity of europium(II) is increased when terbium(III) is incorporated. The electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra are carried out. The intensity of ESR peaks corresponding to europium(II) is also increased when terbium(III) is increased, so the valency state of europium is influenced by terbium(III). Influence of the fold surface of the lamellae on radiation effects - Research on irradiated polyamide-1010 containing heterogeneous nuclei

Irradiated polyamide-1010 (PA1010) and PA1010 containing 0.5% (wt) heterogeneous nuclei were studied by ESR, WAXD, DSC and the determination of gel fractions. The fold surface of the lamellae plays an important role in the effects of radiation on crystalline PA1010. The results show that the direct radiation effects on both samples vary, while after being heated to 220 degrees C, the final radiation effects are identical, regardless of the difference in the amount of the fold surface of the lamellae. The post-radiation effects result predominantly from the fold surface.

The ESR of PPy films doped with Co (W2O7)(6)(10-) and CuW12O406- ions were reported and discussed. Results show that heteropolyanions not only play the role of neutralizing electricity in the PPy film, but also interact with the PPy molecular chain to form some adducts. The adducts affect the electronic structure of the PPy film and are unstable at more positive or more negative potentials. Dysonian ESR lineshape was recorded for the dry PPy film with CuW12O406- for the first time.

MMgF_4(M=Ca,Sr,Ba)体系中Eu和Tb的电荷迁移
