Interfaz de usuario para un simulador de redes de Petri coloreadas

Aquest projecte presenta el desenvolupament d'una interficie d'usuari que permet visualitzar i interpretar, en forma de text o en forma gràfica, els resultats de la simulació de models de Xarxes de Petri Acolorides (XPAs). L'estudi de les solucions obtingudes mitjançant la simulació de models de XPAs, permetrà analitzar i evaluar tant el comportament com el rendiment del sistema modelat. La interficie ha estat programada en Visual C++.

The dynamics of interfaces: Seven authors in search of encounters across levels of description of an event involving a mother, father, and baby

The interfaces between the intrapsychic, interactional, and intergenerational domains are a new frontier. As a pilot, we exposed ourselves to a complex but controllable situation as viewed by people whose main interest is in one of the three interfaces; we also fully integrated the subjects in the team, to learn about their subjective perspectives and to provide them with an enriching experience. We started with a brief "triadification" sequence (i.e., moving from a "two plus one" to a "three together" family organization). Considering this sequence as representing at a micro level many larger family transitions, we proceeded with a microanalytic interview, a psychodynamic investigation, and a family interview. As expected, larger patterns of correspondences are emerging. Central questions under debate are: What are the most appropriate units at each level of description and what are their articulations between these levels? What is the status of "triadification"? Les interfaces entre les domaines intrapsychiques, interactionnels et intergénérationnels représentent une nouvelle frontiére. A titre exploratoire, nous nous sommes exposés à une situation complexe mais contrǒlable ainsi que le voient ceux dont I'intérět principal se porte sur l'une de ces trois interfaces. Nous avons aussi entièrement intégré les sujets dans l'équipe, de facon à comprendre leur perspective subjective et à leur offrir une expérience enrichissante. Nous avons commencé avec une brève séquence de "triadification," c'est-à-dire passer d'une organisation familiale "deux plus un" à Ltne organisation familiale "trois (add sentenc)ensemble." Considérant cette séquence comme representative à un niveau microscopique de transitions familiales bien plus larges, nous avons procedé à l'entretien microanalytique, à une enquěte psychodynamique et à un entretien familial. Comme prévu, de grands patterns de correspondances émergent. Les questions essentielles sur lesquelles portent le débat sont: quelles les unités les plus appropiées à chaque niveau de description et quelles sont les articulations entre ces niveaux? Quel est le statut de la "triadification"?

Economic effects of road accessibility in the Pyrenees: user perspective

At present, Spain faces one of the key moments in planning the future design of the infrastructure network. As a consequence of the critical role played by haulage in intra-European trade, the most important investments are those that guarantee that road haulage traffic can move freely at the borders. That is why it is necessary to make serious evaluations of the economic and social profitability of these investments. Normally the most significant social benefit of investment projects in transport infrastructure is time saving, which in turn changes traffic intensity. In this article we analyse the changes in the user excess caused by public investment in transport infrastructure planned by the Spanish government and which will be located on the border between Spain and France. In particular, we study the increase in network user surplus for HGV traffic in the Spanish and French border zones in the Pyrenees.

The eukaryotic promoter database (EPD).

The Eukaryotic Promoter Database (EPD) is an annotated non-redundant collection of eukaryotic POL II promoters for which the transcription start site has been determined experimentally. Access to promoter sequences is provided by pointers to positions in nucleotide sequence entries. The annotation part of an entry includes a description of the initiation site mapping data, exhaustive cross-references to the EMBL nucleotide sequence database, SWISS-PROT, TRANSFAC and other databases, as well as bibliographic references. EPD is structured in a way that facilitates dynamic extraction of biologically meaningful promoter subsets for comparative sequence analysis. WWW-based interfaces have been developed that enable the user to view EPD entries in different formats, to select and extract promoter sequences according to a variety of criteria, and to navigate to related databases exploiting different cross-references. The EPD web site also features yearly updated base frequency matrices for major eukaryotic promoter elements. EPD can be accessed at http://www.epd.isb-sib.ch

Eina gràfica per la creació d'autòmats per a la representació del llenguatge natural

Aquest projecte tracta la implementació d’una eina gràfica multiplataforma de creació i edició de gramàtiques electròniques per representar el Llenguatge Natural. És una eina per lingüistes i projectes com Spanish FrameNet Project amb la quan poden representar fàcilment transductors en un format més visual, les transicions es representen en forma de “caixes”, i guardar els resultats. S’han implementat varies opcions per crear una eina còmode i personalitzable per l’usuari amb funcionalitats enfocades a les seves necessitats com importar/exportar autòmats des d’una Expressió Regular. Es tracta l’implementació de tots els components que s’han necessitat per crear la GUI així com la seva funcionalitat.

Interfície gràfica pel simulador científic de nanoestructures BITLLES

L’emergent indústria nanoelectrònica necessita de nous simuladors de dispositius nanoelectrònics. Des del departament d’Enginyeria Electrònica de la UAB se n’està desenvolupant un anomenat BITLLES. Malgrat el seu avançat estat de desenvolupament els manca d’una interfície gràfica que faciliti l’entrada de dades al simulador. Aquest projecte final de carrera s’encarregarà de confeccionar aquesta peça clau per tal de assolir una aplicació prou madura per la seva comercialització. A partir de les tecnologies existents per a la realització d’interfícies es farà una selecció de les eines més adequades pels nostres objectius i seguidament es dissenyarà la interfície gràfica adaptant-la a les necessitats i objectius dels desenvolupadors del projecte BITLLES i dels possibles futurs usuaris.

Disseny d'un "museu virtual" per una sala d'exposicions mitjançant OpenGL

Aquest projecte tracta del disseny i implementació d’una aplicació gràfica que permeti visualitzar diferents exposicions de quadres que es realitzin a la sala d’exposicions de la Hemeroteca General de la UAB, gestionada pel col·lectiu “Cultura en Viu”. La utilitat ha sigut desenvolupada mitjançant la llibreria gràfica OpenGL i Microsoft Visual Studio. L’aplicació generada és també una eina de creació i manipulació d’exposicions al servei del usuari.

La définition des interfaces pour améliorer la qualité: l'exemple de l'anorexie en hospitalisation somatique [Defining interfaces to improve quality of care: the example of anorexia nervosa in acute somatic hospitalisation]

Specialisation in medicine requires multidisciplinary approaches, and hence coordination in collaborations of the different partners involved. These integrated approaches, sometimes called "disease management", fit particularly well to chronic diseases. Our institution introduced an integrated approach for taking care of the acute somatic hospitalisation of patients suffering from anorexia nervosa. Interfaces with the different partners were defined, specifying tasks, rights, and duties of each person, care givers or patients. This initiative allows now to identify any deviation occurring in the process of care or hole in the care system, so that it can be corrected and recurrence prevented. This model will be extended to other complex and multidisciplinary care processes and other services in our institution.
