Este documento analiza el consumo de energía en el sector de agua potable y alcantarillado y propone políticas regulatorias para mejorar la eficiencia energética de los prestadores de estos servicios en América Latina y el Caribe. Está dirigido a las agencias de regulación sectorial, así como todas las demás partes interesadas del sector privado y público.

Los conflictos de agua se han incrementrado considerablemente en los últimos años hasta alcanzar altos niveles de complejidad e impacto en las economías, los ámbitos políticos, la estabilidad social, las poblaciones y el ambiente. Este trabajo busca proveer un marco conceptual para el análisis de estos conflictos

O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar o limite da capacidade de escoamento de esgoto sanitário em tubulação interceptora assentada na área urbana do município de Belém – PA. Para isso, foram considerados a Bacia de Esgotamento 5 (BE 5), as projeções populacionais e de produção de esgoto (2010-2030) da área oficial com coleta e transporte de esgoto da BE 5 (Área 1) e da área total dessa Bacia (Área 2), os 100m (cem) do interceptor assentado na BE 5 (chegada da Estação Elevatória de Esgoto do Una), bem como as informações identificadas dessa tubulação e a alteração de declividade proposta neste trabalho. Foi executado o dimensionamento hidráulico e verificou-se que na Área 1, para todas as declividades escolhidas, o interceptor terá capacidade de escoamento no período de 2010-2030, chegando a lâmina líquida máxima de 0,225 em 2030. No entanto, para a Área 2 verificou-se que a capacidade de escoamento terá comprometimento, quando utilizamos três das sete declividades estimadas, chegando a lâmina líquida máxima de 0,950 em 2030, indo de encontro ao recomentado na NBR 9649/1986 Projeto de Rede Coletora de Esgoto Sanitário (0,750). Recomenda-se, neste caso, a reestruturação/ampliação do sistema de coleta e transporte de esgoto da BE 5, em virtude do aumento populacional e de produção de esgoto, resultante da nova divisão de Bacias de Esgotamento realizado no PDSES (2010).

Este artigo pretende discutir como se articulam, na estrutura híbrida do romance Como agua para chocolate, alguns gêneros textuais discursivos comumente dedicados à leitura de mulheres – folhetim, almanaque, caderno de receitas e diário íntimo –, cuja presença fica sugerida desde o subtítulo “novela de entregas mensuales, con recetas, amores y remedios caseros”. Esses gêneros se misturam na construção da narrativa, possibilitando, no âmbito da pós-modernidade, uma leitura crítica do papel da mulher na sociedade patriarcal da primeira metade do século XX.

We conducted a study of the quality of water distributed by Artesian Well in relation to water supply served by the public for purposes of human consumption of UNESP Campus Guaratinguetá. Two sections of the network were randomly chosen and monitored for 105 days: the stretch of the pipeline started off the Water Treatment Station of the Autonomous Service of Water, Sewage and waste in the Municipality of Guaratinguetá and ended in a point consumption of the Child Family Center, while the section B began at the output of an artesian well and finished in a point of consumption of the Department of Civil Engineering. It is the deterioration of water quality in parts A and B, through comparative analysis of Bicarbonates, Total Hardness, Total Iron, free residual chlorine, pH, Total Residual, Turbidity, Conductivity, Color, Fecal Coliforms and Total Coliforms. Among the observations that can be highlighted: the Total Hardness was found in highest concentration in the extract; for Total Iron significant variations were obtained for both parts, and reduction of this parameter in two points of consumption analyzed, not the expected increase concentration, because the contact of water along the pipe, the CRL showed significant depletion to section A, which can be related to impurities in the water, the presence of biofilm on the walls of pipes, or because this is the stretch of greater extent to be covered by water for pH, this indicated that the water is alkaline and slightly acidic stretch in section B; Turbidity was found for the higher concentration to the passage, and a considerable reduction of this parameter at point consumption due to deposition of particulate matter along the stretch, the conductivity also showed a higher concentration in the extract, as well as an increase in this parameter at the point of consumption. Being the corrosion one of the great problems facing the industry today, specifically the internal corrosion of pipes in chemical and petrochemical industries, hence this work proposes a new type of internal coating in order to avoid fouling and decrease the pressure loss in the flow. For this, we use a composition of vinyl ester resins and manometric loads, which after cleaning and preparation of the internal surface of the tube will be applied through a process of centrifugation, adjusted by a lathe. After curing the resin, a test of roughness will be realized in order to analyze the reduction of friction factor and thus be able to conclude whether there was a significant decrease in pressure drop. With test results in hand, we hope to obtain a coating that meets most of the properties required by the industry and to provide a reduction in operating costs and a visible improvement in the conditions of use of the pipe

Introduction and Objective: Microorganisms are responsible for multiple infections and pathologies; this is why it is important to control microbes that can be found in the triple syringe used for irrigation in different dental procedures. The aim of this study was to identify cultivable species of microbes (fungus and bacteria) found in some dental units water lines of a private dental clinic from Medellín, Colombia. Materials and Methods: Random samples were taken from 11 chairs from a total of 89; a sample of water of 500ml was collected from the triple syringe of each selected chair. The study aim to search for the presence of total coliforms, filamentous fungi and leavened Results: the average presence of microorganisms was between 40CFU and more of 200 CFU. Microorganisms such as Aeromona salmonicida, Actinobacilus sp and Pseudomona maltophil were isolated. No total coliforms neither fecal coliforms were found. Conclusions: the high levels of contamination suggest that there is a mature biofilm in somewhere of the dental unit water line, but the absence of total and fecalis coliforms suggest that the water had been treated.
