El objetivo principal de este trabajo es el diseño de un silo experimental concebido para el ensayo de explosiones de polvo venteadas. Este equipo permitirá avanzar en el conocimiento de todas las variables que intervienen en el fenómeno de la explosión y del venteo; y también avanzar en el diseño de dispositivos de protección más eficaces. Gracias a su diseño modular se pretende disponer de una herramienta abierta a multitud de posibilidades de ensayo, pudiendo variar factores con gran influencia en el desarrollo de la explosión, como el área de venteo, el volumen del silo y su relación altura/diámetro (L/D).

Los silos metálicos requieren la disposición de una estructura en su parte superior para permitir la fijación de las chapas que forman la cubierta del silo y así soportar las cargas para las que ha sido diseñada. Esta estructura está formada por un sistema reticular de vigas radiales y circunferenciales que desempeñan diversas funciones. Los modelos de cálculo que se emplean asumen la existencia de ciertos supuestos de comportamiento que luego deben verificarse en la práctica. Por esta razón, se diseñó un experimento para obtener las tensiones y desplazamientos verticales producidos en distintos elementos de la estructura del techo de un silo de 18,34 m de diámetro, con objeto de validar los resultados proporcionados por modelos de cálculo numérico. La instrumentación de un silo de estas dimensiones resulta bastante compleja, y requiere tener en cuenta numerosos factores como la selección representativa de los puntos de carga aplicados sobre el techo, la comprobación de las cargas transmitidas o la instalación de los dispositivos adecuados para poder registrar las mediciones necesarias. En los distintos ensayos realizados llegaron a aplicarse simultáneamente cargas sobre la estructura hasta en 54 puntos, mediante el uso de cintas tensoras (eslingas). La comprobación de la carga aplicada se realizó con el uso de 8 dinamómetros. Por otro lado, los desplazamientos verticales sufridos por la estructura, sometida a carga, se comprobaron en 3 puntos alineados con el uso de flexímetros ASM tipo A-WS10-100-R1K-L10, y las tensiones se infirieron a partir de las deformaciones registradas mediante el uso de 8 galgas extensométricas en 4 vigas opuestas de la estructura. Las lecturas procedentes de las galgas extensométricas y de los flexímetros fueron registrados mediante el uso de dataloggers. Los resultados obtenidos con los ensayos fueron comparados con los obtenidos con un programa de cálculo de estructuras mediante el cual se realizó un modelo tridimensional de la estructura. Se observó una buena concordancia en los resultados, siempre que se cumplieran las hipótesis de partida del modelo. El ensayo permitió detectar la presencia de ciertas anomalías en el funcionamiento de algunos elementos del silo, que fueron corroboradas con los modelos de cálculo.

Nos países em desenvolvimento, como o Brasil, a secagem de produtos agrícolas com uso de secador solar representa uma alternativa promissora de baixo custo, reduzindo perdas e agregando valor aos produtos. Porém, devido à natureza periódica da radiação solar e das condições do tempo, nem sempre é viável sua utilização. Dessa forma, o objetivo do trabalho foi a modelagem de um sistema auxiliar de armazenagem de energia térmica (SAET) em um secador solar, cuja finalidade é armazenar energia durante o dia para ser utilizada conforme necessário. Com base em registros de temperatura e umidade relativa, ambas do ar, de um secador solar, foi feito um estudo da termodinâmica dos processos envolvidos, a fim de propor meios para o dimensionamento do SAET. Foram explorados a estimativa do fluxo de massa de ar no secador, a modelagem da temperatura em função da radiação, e o dimensionamento para diferentes modos de operação do SAET, considerando o sistema ideal. Este dimensionamento tratou tanto do caso de fornecimento contínuo de fluxo de água preaquecida, como de uso de automação para controlar o fluxo. A estimativa de fluxo de ar no secador se aproximou de valores típicos encontrados na literatura. O dimensionamento do sistema, embora considerado ideal, mostra que a utilização do SAET melhora o desempenho do secador, servindo como parâmetro para melhor compreender o comportamento das variáveis durante seu funcionamento.

Ante la constatación de los cambios que la sociedad española ha experimentado en los últimos cuarenta años y que tienen en el concepto de la familia un reflejo de primer orden, el artículo plantea la relación entre las maneras de vivir (modos de habitar) y las viviendas, muy presente en el debate arquitectónico. Las casas son nuestro mundo, el que construimos, donde se revela tanto nuestra forma de ser como nuestra forma de entender, de estar y de actuar en el mundo. Para ilustrar esas relaciones, se efectúa un breve repaso por algunos de sus hitos: la Villa Rotonda, el Hôtel Tassel y la doble vivienda de Le Corbusier en la Weissenhofsiedlungen, que nos conduce hasta el estudio de un caso, el de un bloque aislado de 15 viviendas sociales junto al silo de Albacete, obra de la arquitecta Rosana Pérez González.

The return to methods focusing on language and experience following the dominance of experimental methods has in the last few decades led to debate, dialogue, and disagreement regarding the status of qualitative and quantitative methods. However, a recent focus on impact has brought an air of pragmatism to the research arena. In what ways, then, is psychology moving from entrenched mono methods approaches that have epitomised its development until recently, to describing and discussing ways in which mixed and pluralistic research can advance and contribute to further, deeper psychological understanding?.

The soursop (A. muricata) is a fruit rich in minerals especially the potassium content. The commercialization of soursop in natura and processed has increased greatly in recent years. Drying fruit pulp in order to obtain the powdered pulp has been studied, seeking alternatives to ensure the quality of dehydrated products at a low cost of production. The high concentration of sugars reducing present in fruits causes problems of agglomeration and retention during fruit pulp drying in spouted bed dryers. On the other hand in relation to drying of milk and fruit pulp with added milk in spouted bed, promising results are reported in the literature. Based on these results was studied in this work drying of the pulp soursop with added milk in spouted bed with inert particles. The tests were based on a 24 factorial design were evaluated for the effects of milk concentration (30 to 50% m/m), drying air temperature (70 to 90 °C), intermittency time (10 to 14 min), and ratio of air velocity in relation to the minimum spout (1.2 to 1.5) on the rate of production, of powder moisture, yield, rate of drying and thermal efficiency of the process. There were physical and chemical analysis of mixtures, of powders and of mixtures reconstituted by rehydration powders. Were adjusted statistical models of first order to data the rate of production, yield and thermal efficiency, that were statistically significant and predictive. An efficiency greater than 40% under the conditions of 50% milk mixture, at 70 ° C the drying air temperature and 1.5 for the ratio between the air velocity and the minimum spout has been reached. The intermittency time showed no significant effect on the analyzed variables. The final product had moisture in the range of 4.18% to 9.99% and water activity between 0.274 to 0.375. The mixtures reconstituted by rehydration powders maintained the same characteristics of natural blends.

Actually, Brazil is one of the larger fruit producer worldwide, with most of its production being consumed in nature way or either as juice or pulp. It is important to highlig ht in the fruit productive chain there are a lot lose due mainly to climate reasons, as well as storage, transportation, season, market, etc. It is known that in the pulp and fruit processing industy a yield of 50% (in mass) is usually obtained, with the other part discarded as waste. However, since most this waste has a high nutrient content it can be used to generate added - value products. In this case, drying plays an important role as an alternative process in order to improve these wastes generated by the fruit industry. However, despite the advantage of using this technique in order to improve such wastes, issues as a higher power demand as well as the thermal efficiency limitation should be addressed. Therefore, the control of the main variables in t his drying process is quite important in order to obtain operational conditions to produce a final product with the target specification as well as with a lower power cost. M athematical models can be applied to this process as a tool in order to optimize t he best conditions. The main aim of this work was to evaluate the drying behaviour of a guava industrial pulp waste using a batch system with a convective - tray dryer both experimentally and using mathematical modeling. In the experimental study , the dryin g carried out using a group of trays as well as the power consume were assayed as response to the effects of operational conditions (temperature, drying air flow rate and solid mass). Obtained results allowed observing the most significant variables in the process. On the other hand, the phenomenological mathematical model was validated and allowed to follow the moisture profile as well as the temperature in the solid and gas phases in every tray. Simulation results showed the most favorable procedure to o btain the minimum processing time as well as the lower power demand.

The growing need for food is something that worries the world, which has a population that is growing at a geometric progression while their resources grows at an arithmetic progression. To alleviate this problem there are some proposals, including increased food production or reduce waste thereof. Many studies have been conducted in the world in order to reduce food waste that can reach 40% of production, depending on the region. For this purpose techniques are used to retard degradation of foods, including drying. This paper presents a design of a hybrid fruit dryer that uses solar energy and electric energy with automation of the process. To accomplish drying tests were chosen Typical fruits with good acceptability as processed fruits. During the experiments were measured temperature values at different points. Were also measured humidity values, solar radiation and mass. A data acquisition system was built using a Arduino for obtaining temperatures. The data were sent to a program named Secador de Frutas, done in this work, to plot the same. The volume of the drying chamber was 423 liters and despite the unusual size test using mirrors to increase the incidence of direct radiation, showed that the drier is competitive when compared with other solar dryers produced in Hydraulic Machines and Solar Energy Laboratory (LMHES ) UFRN. The drier has been built at a cost of 3 to 5 times smaller than industrial dryers that operate with the same load of fruit. And the energy cost to produce dried fruits was more feasible compared with such dryers that use LPG as an energy source. However, the drying time was longer.

Este proyecto que se desarrolla como pr?ctica art?stica colaborativa, tiene como objetivo resaltar el trabajo realizado en Silo? por gestores culturales de la comuna 20 de Santiago de Cali, buscando incentivar por medio del El carnaval de diablos de Silo? una apropiaci?n e identificaci?n de sus tradiciones y expresiones culturales, todo esto con el fin de motivar en cada edici?n una participaci?n m?s activa de los ni?os y j?venes en la personificaci?n de los diferentes roles de la cuadrilla de diablitos, haciendo del desfile del 30 de octubre un espacio de integraci?n y participaci?n social y cultural. El carnaval es una manifestaci?n que se presenta dentro de las fronteras de ocho barrios y dos sectores que componen esta comuna y que desde el 2011, por iniciativa de algunos habitantes, se ha venido gestando como un agente de rescate de memoria con su territorio y ancestros. Esta pr?ctica se realiza bajo el ?nfasis de la experiencia personal y comunitaria en la creaci?n, elaboraci?n y desarrollo del proyecto la comunidad hace participaci?n, generando di?logos y construcci?n de ideas dentro de la comunidad, aspectos que son relevantes en el proceso social de identificaci?n de sectores como los que constituyen la comuna 20, con el fin de que el carnaval se convierta en el inicio de una festividad creada por ellos y para ellos, con m?s afluencia y participaci?n de los habitantes.
