RESUM: En aquest treball de recerca s’han analitzat els referents culturals i els jocs de paraules que apareixen en l’obra El senyor dels anells. Com a reflexió inicial em baso en la hipòtesi que la caracterització de hòbbits, ents i homes, tres races que apareixen en la Terra Mitjana, el món secundari creat per Tolkien, es nodreix, a banda d’altres elements, de jocs de paraules i referents culturals britànics. És fonamental que aquesta afirmació sigui tinguda en compte en l’acte de traducció per respectar la intenció de J. R. R. Tolkien, que en aquesta obra buscava també la creació d’una mitologia britànica versemblant, com si de veritat la Terra Mitjana hagués constituït el passat real del nostre planeta amb els avantpassats britànics com a protagonistes. La composició d’aquest estudi es divideix en: (1) característiques de la literatura fantàstica; (2) aspectes relacionats amb l’autor des de dues vessants: l’una com a acadèmic i l’altra com a escriptor i creador; (3) teoria de la traducció de referents culturals i de jocs de paraules; i (4) corpus de 144 termes extrets del text de sortida analitzats i traduïts a partir de fitxes de traducció. Puc concloure que s’ha demostrat la hipòtesi que em plantejava: els referents culturals i els jocs de paraules són recursos actius en El senyor dels anells i una bona anàlisi d’aquests camps és pertinent per comprendre la magnitud de l’imaginari de J. R. R. Tolkien i realitzar una traducció respectuosa amb la intencionalitat de l’autor. El senyor dels anells és una fairy-story, una obra de fantasia, una fugida de la realitat consensuada (Tolkien no s’amaga d’aquesta fugida i la veu positiva) en què els elements propis del món primari (la cultura britànica i comunitats antigues com l’anglosaxona, la celta o l’escandinava) i del món secundari (els personatges que habiten la Terra Mitjana en el marc temporal de la Tercera Edat) funcionen d’acord amb els principis dels dos móns. Considero que el procés seguit tant en la metodologia, com en l’elaboració dels continguts, com en la traducció dels termes analitzats a través de les fitxes és positiu i útil. Aquesta sistematització del procés i el resultat final poden ser rellevants per a la comunitat traductora, tant per al futur traductor com per al professional.

L’ús de metal·lacarborans en la síntesi de compostos polianiònics amb un alt contingut en bor i amb bons rendiments és un tema d’alt interès i estudi al grup de Síntesi Inorgànica i Catàlisi de l’ICMAB. Els metal·lacarborans presenten diverses aplicacions innovadores com la BNCT (Boron Neutron Capture Therapy),1 tractament d’aigües residuals,2 activitats catalítiques3 i com a agents dopants de membranes polimèriques conductores.4 Amb la perspectiva d’emprar clústers de bor per materials moleculars funcionalitzats, hem iniciat una investigació que busca la síntesi de productes híbrids amb múltiples elements electroactius (metal·lacarborans) i el grup funcional carbonil, que gràcies a la seva reactivitat coneguda ens permetrà aplicar les molècules sintetitzades a futures reaccions i aplicacions. Una de les condicions inicials plantejades en aquesta investigació és l’ús de productes químics assequibles i de gran disponibilitat, per tal de poder assegurar l’obtenció de precursors per a futures aplicacions amb bons rendiments i ràpids de sintetitzar. Per assolir aquest objectiu es van iniciar les investigacions amb la cetona més simple coneguda, l’acetona (CH3-CO-CH3) (pKa = 19.3) com a producte de partida. A partir de la reacció d’aquesta amb una base forta no nucleòfila es genera CH3-COCH2 (-). Si s’aconsegueix prevenir o minimitzar la reacció d’addició aldòlica, l’anió CH3- CO-CH2 (-) pot atacar nucleofílicament al carboni contigu al catió oxoni5 de la molècula de cobaltabisdicarballur dioxanat (cosà dioxanat), [3,3’-Co(8-(OCH2CH2)2-1,2- C2B9H10)(1’,2’-C2B9H11)], generant un derivat del cosà dioxanat que conté un grup carbonil. Aquest procediment pot ser repetit per introduir diverses unitats de metal·lacarborans (cosà, fesà, etc.), tot i que aquest procés presenta una gran dispersió de subproductes, fet que fa baixar el rendiment global i li resta interès. Un procediment molt més efectiu i que dóna un control de la regioselectivitat molt major dels centres electroactius incorporats és la síntesi acetoacètica (pKa H intercarbonílic = 10.7). Múltiples molècules homo i hetero polianiòniques amb metal·lacarborans han estat sintetitzades amb èxit en aquest treball, amb un control regioselectiu molt precís mitjançant aquest mètode sintètic, i caracteritzades per mètodes electroquímics.

Introduction: In normal mice, lentiviral vector (LV) shows a great efficiency to infect the RPE cells, but transduces retinal neurons more efficiently during development. Here, we investigated the tropism of LV in the degenerating retina of mice, knowing that the retina structure changes during degeneration. We postulated that the viral transduction would be increased by the alteration of the interphotoreceptor matrix (IPM). We tested two different LV-pseudotypes using the VSVG and the Mokola envelopes. Methods: Subretinal injections were performed in wild-type (C57/Bl6) and rhodopsin knockout (Rho-/-) mice. We injected LV-VSVG-EFS-GFPII into 3.3-4.9 month old mice and LV-VSVG-Rho-GFP into 1-1.4 month old mice to target the photoreceptors (PR). LV-MOK-CMV-GFP was injected into 2.4-3.3 months old mice. We sacrificed the animals one week post injection, used immunohistochemistry to identify the transduced cells, and investigated the OLM integrity. Results: Using LV-VSVG-EFS-GFPII into 3.3-4.9 months mice, we observed significant retinal and RPE transduction in Rho-/- mice. However, the retinas showed transduction mainly at the injection's site. We mostly observed GFP+ cells having a Müller cell morphology. Using LV-MOK-CMV-GFP into 2.4-3.3 months mice, we evidenced the same pattern of viral infection, but with more Müller cells targeted by the virus. Using LV-VSVG-Rho-GFP into 1-1.4 month old mice, we don't note any difference between Rho-/- and wild-type mice for transduced cells. The IPM stained with ZO1 appears irregular into the 4.9 months old Rho-/- mice; for the youngest mice (Rho-/- and C57/Bl6), there is no modification of the IPM. Conclusion: The degeneration improves retinal cells transduction due to the alteration of the IPM in old Rho-/- mice. Müller cells seem (by morphological evidences) to be the principal cells expressing the transgene. The LV with Mokola envelope can transduce Müller cells in a degenerating retina with an intact IPM. In 1 month old mice, the degeneration doesn't enhance the transduction in rod PR probably because the IPM is not yet altered. The possibility to target photoreceptors at a later stage of the degeneration is under investigation.

While treatment of keloids and hypertrophic scars normally shows modest results, we found that treatment with bleomycin was more promising. The present study was divided into two parts. In the first part the aim was to show the results using a combination of bleomycin and triamcinolone acetonide per cm2 (BTA). In the second part the objective was to determine the response to both drugs in large keloids that were divided into 1 cm2 squares, treating each square with the dose previously used. In the first part of the study, the clinical response of 37 keloids ranging from 0.3 to 1.8 cm2 treated with BTA were followed up over a period of 1- 2 years. 0.375 IU bleomycin and 4 mg triamcinolone acetonide were injected every 3 months. In the second part of the study we reviewed the clinical response in six patients with large keloids. The monthly dose administered never exceeded 3 IU of bleomycin. The first study showed 36 keloids (97.29%) softening after the first dose. In the second study, 5 showed different responses (the response was complete in the four smaller keloids). The largest keloid needed 9 doses to achieve an improvement of 70%. In conclusion, combined treatment with 0.375 IU of bleomycin and 4mg of triamcinolone acetonide to 1 cm2 was considered to be an acceptable procedure for the treatment of keloids. The best results were obtained in keloids over 1 cm2 or when divided into 1 cm2 square areas. Larger series need to be performed in order to confirm these results..

This report summarizes the analysis of transverse cracking in asphalt pavement by a five state study team from Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Oklahoma. The study was initiated under the sponsorship of the Federal Highway Administration and four evaluation conferences were held during the course of the study. Each state conducted a crack inventory on their asphalt pavement. An effort was made to correlate this inventory with numerous factors that were considered to be pertinent to the cracking problem. One state did indicate that there was a correlation between transverse cracking severity and the subsurface geology. The other states were unable to identify any significant factors as being the primary contributors. The analysis of the problem was divided into, (1) mix design, (2) maintenance, and (3) 3R rehabilitation. Many potential factors to be considered were identified under each of these three study divisions. There were many conclusions as to good and bad practices. One major conclusions was that a more effective crack maintenance program with early sealing was essential. Some new practices were suggested as potentially more cost effective in design, construction and maintenance. The interchange of methods and procedures by individual states yielded benefits in that other states selected practices that would be an improvement to their program.

Purpose: We previously demonstrated efficient retinal rescue of RPE65 mouse models (Rpe65-/- (Bemelmans et al, 2006) and Rpe65R91W/R91W mice) using a HIV1-derived lentiviral vector encoding for the mouse RPE65 cDNA. In order to optimize a lentiviral vector as an alternative tool for RPE65-derived Leber Congenital Amaurosis clinical trials, we evaluated the efficiency of an integration-deficient lentiviral vector (IDLV) encoding the human RPE65 cDNA to restore retinal function in the Rpe65R91W/R91W mice. Methods: An HIV-1-derived lentiviral vector expressing either the hrGFPII or the human Rpe65 cDNA under the control of a 0.8 kb fragment of the human Rpe65 promoter (R0.8) was produced by transient transfection of 293T cells. A LQ-integrase mutant was used to generate the IDLV vectors. IDLV-R0.8-hRPE65 or hrGFPII were injected subretinally into 1 month-old Rpe65R91W/R91W mice. Functional rescue was assessed by ERG (1 and 3 months post-injection) and cone survival by immunohistology. Results: An increased light sensitivity was detected by scotopic ERG in animals injected with IDLV-R0.8-hRPE65 compared to hrGFPII-treated animals or untreated mice. However the improvement was delayed compared to integration-proficient LV and observed at 3 months but not 1 month post-injection. Immunolabelling of cone markers showed an increased number of cones in the transduced area compared to control groups. Conclusions: The IDLV-R0.8-hRPE65 vectors allow retinal improvement in the Rpe65R91W/R91W mice. Both rod function and cone survival were demonstrated even if there is a delay in the rescue as assessed by scotopic ERG. Integration-deficient vectors minimize insertional mutagenesis and thus are safer candidates for human application. Further experiments using large animals are now needed to validate correct gene transfer and expression of the RPE65 gene as well as tolerance of the vector after subretinal injection before envisaging a clinical trial application.

Summary Background: The combination of the Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index (PESI) and troponin testing could help physicians identify appropriate patients with acute pulmonary embolism (PE) for early hospital discharge. Methods: This prospective cohort study included a total of 567 patients from a single center registry with objectively confirmed acute symptomatic PE. On the basis of the PESI, each patient was classified into 1 of 5 classes (I to V). At the time of hospital admission, patients had troponin I (cTnI) levels measured. The endpoint of the study was all-cause mortality within 30 days after diagnosis. We calculated the mortality rates in 4 patient groups: group 1: PESI class I-II plus cTnI <0.1 ng mL(-1); group 2: PESI classes III-V plus cTnI <0.1 ng mL(-1); group 3: PESI classes I-II plus cTnI >/= 0.1 ng mL(-1); and group 4: PESI classes III-V plus cTnI >/= 0.1 ng mL(-1). Results: The study cohort had a 30-day mortality of 10% (95% confidence interval [CI], 7.6 to 12.5%). Mortality rates in the 4 groups were 1.3%, 14.2%, 0% and 15.4%, respectively. Compared to non-elevated cTnl, the low-risk PESI had a higher negative predictive value (NPV) (98.9% vs 90.8%) and negative likelihood ratio (NLR) (0.1 vs 0.9) for predicting mortality. The addition of non-elevated cTnI to low-risk PESI did not improve the NPV or the NLR compared to either test alone. Conclusions: Compared to cTnl testing, PESI classification more accurately identified patients with PE who are at low risk of all-cause death within 30-days of presentation.

In 1875, 7 years prior to the description of the Koch bacillus, Klebs visualized the first Streptococcus pneumoniae in pleural fluid. Since then, this organism has played a decisive role in biomedical science. From a biological point of view, it was extensively involved in the development of passive and active immunization by serotherapy and vaccination respectively. Genetic transformation was also first observed in S. pneumoniae, leading to the discovery of DNA. From a clinical point of view, S. pneumoniae is today still a prime cause of otitis media in children and of pneumonia in all age groups, as well as a predominant cause of meningitis and bacteremia. In adults, bacteremia still has a mortality of over 25%. Although S. pneumoniae remained very sensitive to penicillin for many years, penicillin-resistant strains have emerged and increased dramatically over the last 15 years. During this period the frequency of penicillin-resistant isolates has increased from < or = 1% to frequencies varying from 20 to 60% in geographic areas as diverse as South Africa, Spain, France, Hungary, Iceland, Alaska, and numerous regions of the United States and South America. In Switzerland, the current frequency of penicillin-resistant pneumococci ranges between 5 and > or = 10%. The increase in penicillin-resistant pneumococci correlates with the intensive use of beta-lactam antibiotics. The mechanism of resistance is not due to bacterial production of penicillinase but to an alteration of the bacterial target of penicillin, the so-called penicillin-binding proteins. Resistance is subdivided into (1) intermediate level resistance (minimal inhibitory concentration [MIC] of penicillin of 0.1-1 mg/l) and (2) high level resistance (MCI > or = 2 mg/l). The clinical significance of intermediate resistance remains poorly defined. On the other hand, highly resistant strains have been responsible for numerous therapeutic failures, especially in cases of meningitis. Antibiotics recommended against penicillin-resistant pneumococci include cefotaxime, ceftriaxone, imipenem and in some instances vancomycin. However, penicillin-resistant pneumococci tend to present cross-resistances to all the antibiotics of the beta-lactam family and could even become resistant to the last resort drugs mentioned above. Thus, the explosion of resistance to penicillin in pneumococci is a ubiquitous phenomenon which must be fought against by (1) avoiding excessive use of antibiotics, (2) the practice of microbiological sampling of infected foci before treatment, (3) the systematic surveillance of resistance profiles of pneumococci against antibiotics and (4) adequate vaccination of populations at risk.

In the State Park Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga - PEFI, located in the city of São Paulo, samples of submerged mixed leaf litter were collected monthly from 10 sites with different levels of eutrophication, from October 2003 to April 2005. Some abiotic factors, such as pH, temperature, conductivity and dissolved oxygen were simultaneously measured in 20 cm deep water at each site. The leaf litter samples were washed in laboratory, cut into 1 cm² pieces and incubated in Petri dishes containing distilled sterile water for five to seven days at 15 °C to 20 °C. Twenty-four aquatic Hyphomycete species were identified, with predominance of Anguillospora crassa Ingold, Lunulospora curvula Ingold, Tetrachaetum elegans Ingold and Camposporium pellucidum (Grove) Hughes. First reports for South America are: Anguillospora filiformis Greathead, Dendrospora erecta Ingold and Pyramidospora casuarinae Nilsson. These species, as well as Tetracladium setigerum (Grove) Ingold, Tricladium splendens Ingold and Varicosporium elodeae Kegel, are reported for the first time in Brazil. According to the multivariate analysis, the occurrence of the aquatic Hyphomycetes was mainly influenced by the trophic level of the aquatic environments.

We investigated whether fibrin glue (FG) could promote urethral sphincter restoration in muscle-derived stem cell (MDSC)-based injection therapies in a pudendal nerve-transected (PNT) rat, which was used as a stress urinary incontinence (SUI) model. MDSCs were purified from the gastrocnemius muscles of 4-week-old inbred female SPF Wistar rats and labeled with green fluorescent protein. Animals were divided into five groups (N = 15): sham (S), PNT (D), PNT+FG injection (F), PNT+MDSC injection (M), and PNT+MDSC+FG injection (FM). Each group was subdivided into 1- and 4-week groups. One and 4 weeks after injection into the proximal urethra, leak point pressure (LPP) was measured to assess urethral resistance function. Histology and immunohistochemistry were performed 4 weeks after injection. LPP was increased significantly in FM and M animals after implantation compared to group D (P < 0.01), but was not different from group S. LPP was slightly higher in the FM group than in the M group but there was no significant difference between them at different times. Histological and immunohistochemical examination demonstrated increased numbers of surviving MDSCs (109 ± 19 vs 82 ± 11/hpf, P = 0.026), increased muscle/collagen ratio (0.40 ± 0.02 vs 0.34 ± 0.02, P = 0.044), as well as increased microvessel density (16.9 ± 0.6 vs 14.1 ± 0.4/hpf, P = 0.001) at the injection sites in FM compared to M animals. Fibrin glue may potentially improve the action of transplanted MDSCs to restore the histology and function of the urethral sphincter in a SUI rat model. Injection of MDSCs with fibrin glue may provide a novel cellular therapy method for SUI.

Positron emission tomography imaging has both academic and applied uses in revealing the distribution and density of different molecular targets in the central nervous system. Following the significant progress made with the dopamine D2 receptor, advances have been made in developing PET tracers to allow analysis of receptor occupancy of many other receptor types as well as evaluating changes in endogenous synaptic transmitter concentrations of transmitters e.g. serotonin and noradrenaline. Noradrenergic receptors are divided into α1-, α2- and β-adrenoceptor subfamilies, in humans each of which is composed of three receptor subtypes. The α2-adrenoceptors have an important presynaptic auto-inhibitory function on noradrenaline release but they also have postsynaptic roles in modulating the release of other neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine. One of the subtypes, the α2C-adrenoceptor, has been detected at distinct locations in the central nervous system, most notably the dorsal striatum. Several serious neurological conditions causing dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease have been linked to disturbed noradrenergic signaling. Furthermore, altered noradrenergic signaling has also been implicated in conditions like ADHD, depression, anxiety and schizophrenia. In order to benefit future research into these central nervous system disorders as well as being useful in the clinical development of drugs affecting brain noradrenergic neurotransmission, validation work of a novel tracer for positron emission tomography studies in humans was performed. Altogether 85 PET imaging experiments were performed during four separate clinical trials. The repeatability of [11C]ORM-13070 binding was tested in healthy individuals, followed by a study to evaluate the dose-dependent displacement of [11C]ORM-13070 from α2C-adrenoceptors by a competing ligand, and the final two studies examined the sensitivity of [11C]ORM-13070 binding to reflect changes in endogenous noradrenaline levels. The repeatability of [11C]ORM-13070 binding was very high. The binding properties of the tracer allowed for a reliable estimation of α2C-AR occupancy by using the reference tissue ratio method with low test-retest variability. [11C]ORM-13070 was dose-dependently displaced from its specific binding sites by the subtype-nonselective α2-adrenoceptor antagonist atipamezole, and thus it proved suitable for use in clinical drug development of novel α2C-adrenoceptor ligands e.g. to determine the best doses and dosing intervals for clinical trials. Convincing experimental evidence was gained to support the suitability of [11C]ORM-13070 for detecting an increase in endogenous synaptic noradrenaline in the human brain. Tracer binding in the thalamus tended to increase in accordance with reduced activity of noradrenergic projections from the locus coeruleus, although statistical significance was not reached. Thus, the investigation was unable to fully validate [11C]ORM-13070 for the detection of pharmacologically evoked reductions in noradrenaline levels.

The purpose of the present study was to determine which augmented sensory modality would best develop subjective error-detection capabilities of learners performing a spatial-temporal task when using a touch screen monitor. Participants were required to learn a 5-digit key-pressing task in a goal time of 2550 ms over 100 acquisition trials on a touch screen. Participants were randomized into 1 of 4 groups: 1) visual-feedback (colour change of button when selected), 2) auditory-feedback (click sound when button was selected), 3) visual-auditory feedback (both colour change and click sound when button was selected), and 4) no-feedback (no colour change or click sound when button was selected). Following each trial, participants were required to provide a subjective estimate regarding their performance time in relation to the actual time it took for them complete the 5-digit sequence. A no-KR retention test was conducted approximately 24-hours after the last completed acquisition trial. Results showed that practicing a timing task on a touch screen augmented with both visual and auditory information may have differentially impacted motor skill acquisition such that removal of one or both sources of augmented feedback did not result in a severe detriment to timing performance or error detection capabilities of the learner. The present study reflects the importance of multimodal augmented feedback conditions to maximize cognitive abilities for developing a stronger motor memory for subjective error-detection and correction capabilities.

La douleur chronique non cancéreuse (DCNC) est un phénomène complexe et des interventions multimodales qui abordent à la fois ses dimensions biologiques et psychosociales sont considérées comme l’approche optimale pour traiter ce type de désordre. La prescription d'opioïdes pour la DCNC a augmenté d’une façon fulgurante au cours des deux dernières décennies, mais les preuves supportant l'efficacité à long terme de ce type de médicament en termes de réduction de la sévérité de la douleur et d’amélioration de la qualité de vie des patients souffrant de DCNC sont manquantes. L'objectif de cette étude était d'investiguer dans un contexte de vraie vie l'efficacité à long terme des opioïdes pour réduire l’intensité et l’impact de la douleur et améliorer la qualité de vie reliée à la santé des patients souffrant de DCNC sur une période d’une année. Méthodes: Les participants à cette étude étaient 1490 patients (âge moyen = 52,37 (écart-type = 13,9); femmes = 60,9%) enrôlés dans le Registre Québec Douleur entre octobre 2008 et Avril 2011 et qui ont complété une série de questionnaires avant d'initier un traitement dans un centre multidisciplinaire tertiaire de gestion de la douleur ainsi qu’à 6 et 12 mois plus tard. Selon leur profil d'utilisation d'opioïdes (PUO), les patients ont été classés en 1) non-utilisateurs, 2) utilisateurs non persistants, et 3) utilisateurs persistants. Les données ont été analysées à l'aide du modèle d'équation d'estimation généralisée. Résultats: Chez les utilisateurs d’opioïdes, 52% en ont cessé la prise à un moment ou à un autre pendant la période de suivi. Après ajustement pour l'âge et le sexe, le PUO a prédit d’une manière significative l’intensité de la douleur ressentie en moyenne sur des périodes de 7 jours (p <0,001) ainsi que la qualité de vie physique (pQDV) dans le temps (p <0,001). Comparés aux non-utilisateurs, les utilisateurs persistants avaient des niveaux significativement plus élevés d'intensité de douleur et une moins bonne pQDV. Une interaction significative a été trouvée entre le PUO et le temps dans la prédiction de l’intensité de douleur ressentie à son maximum (p = 0,001), les utilisateurs persistants sont ceux rapportant les scores les plus élevés à travers le temps. Une interaction significative a aussi été observée entre le PUO et le type de douleur dans la prédiction de l'impact de la douleur dans diverses sphères de la vie quotidienne (p = 0,048) et de la mQDV (p = 0,042). Indépendamment du type de douleur, les utilisateurs persistants ont rapporté des scores plus élevés d'interférence de douleur ainsi qu’une moins bonne mQDV par rapport aux non-utilisateurs. Cependant, la magnitude de ces effets était de petite taille (d de Cohen <0,5), une observation qui remet en question la puissance et la signification clinique des différences observées entre ces groupes. Conclusion: Nos résultats contribuent à maintenir les doutes sur l'efficacité d’une thérapie à long terme à base d’opioïdes et remettent ainsi en question le rôle que peut jouer ce type de médicament dans l'arsenal thérapeutique pour la gestion de la DCNC.

In dieser Arbeit wird die Wechselwirkung zwischen einem Photon und einem Elektron im starken Coulombfeld eines Atomkerns am Beispiel des radiativen Elektroneneinfangs beim Stoß hochgeladener Teilchen untersucht. In den letzten Jahren wurde dieser Ladungsaustauschprozess insbesondere für relativistische Ion–Atom–Stöße sowohl experimentell als auch theoretisch ausführlich erforscht. In Zentrum standen dabei haupsächlich die totalen und differentiellen Wirkungsquerschnitte. In neuerer Zeit werden vermehrt Spin– und Polarisationseffekte sowie Korrelationseffekte bei diesen Stoßprozessen diskutiert. Man erwartet, dass diese sehr empfindlich auf relativistische Effekte im Stoß reagieren und man deshalb eine hervorragende Methode zu deren Bestimmung erhält. Darüber hinaus könnten diese Messungen auch indirekt dazu führen, dass man die Polarisation des Ionenstrahls bestimmen kann. Damit würden sich neue experimentelle Möglichkeiten sowohl in der Atom– als auch der Kernphysik ergeben. In dieser Dissertation werden zunächst diese ersten Untersuchungen zu den Spin–, Polarisations– und Korrelationseffekten systematisch zusammengefasst. Die Dichtematrixtheorie liefert hierzu die geeignete Methode. Mit dieser Methode werden dann die allgemeinen Gleichungen für die Zweistufen–Rekombination hergeleitet. In diesem Prozess wird ein Elektron zunächst radiativ in einen angeregten Zustand eingefangen, der dann im zweiten Schritt unter Emission des zweiten (charakteristischen) Photons in den Grundzustand übergeht. Diese Gleichungen können natürlich auf beliebige Mehrstufen– sowie Einstufen–Prozesse erweitert werden. Im direkten Elektroneneinfang in den Grundzustand wurde die ”lineare” Polarisation der Rekombinationsphotonen untersucht. Es wurde gezeigt, dass man damit eine Möglichkeit zur Bestimmung der Polarisation der Teilchen im Eingangskanal des Schwerionenstoßes hat. Rechnungen zur Rekombination bei nackten U92+ Projektilen zeigen z. B., dass die Spinpolarisation der einfallenden Elektronen zu einer Drehung der linearen Polarisation der emittierten Photonen aus der Streuebene heraus führt. Diese Polarisationdrehung kann mit neu entwickelten orts– und polarisationsempfindlichen Festkörperdetektoren gemessen werden. Damit erhält man eine Methode zur Messung der Polarisation der einfallenden Elektronen und des Ionenstrahls. Die K–Schalen–Rekombination ist ein einfaches Beispiel eines Ein–Stufen–Prozesses. Das am besten bekannte Beispiel der Zwei–Stufen–Rekombination ist der Elektroneneinfang in den 2p3/2–Zustand des nackten Ions und anschließendem Lyman–1–Zerfall (2p3/2 ! 1s1/2). Im Rahmen der Dichte–Matrix–Theorie wurden sowohl die Winkelverteilung als auch die lineare Polarisation der charakteristischen Photonen untersucht. Beide (messbaren) Größen werden beträchtlich durch die Interferenz des E1–Kanals (elektrischer Dipol) mit dem viel schwächeren M2–Kanal (magnetischer Quadrupol) beeinflusst. Für die Winkelverteilung des Lyman–1 Zerfalls im Wasserstoff–ähnlichen Uran führt diese E1–M2–Mischung zu einem 30%–Effekt. Die Berücksichtigung dieser Interferenz behebt die bisher vorhandene Diskrepanz von Theorie und Experiment beim Alignment des 2p3/2–Zustands. Neben diesen Ein–Teichen–Querschnitten (Messung des Einfangphotons oder des charakteristischen Photons) wurde auch die Korrelation zwischen den beiden berechnet. Diese Korrelationen sollten in X–X–Koinzidenz–Messungen beobbachtbar sein. Der Schwerpunkt dieser Untersuchungen lag bei der Photon–Photon–Winkelkorrelation, die experimentell am einfachsten zu messen ist. In dieser Arbeit wurden ausführliche Berechnungen der koinzidenten X–X–Winkelverteilungen beim Elektroneneinfang in den 2p3/2–Zustand des nackten Uranions und beim anschließenden Lyman–1–Übergang durchgeführt. Wie bereits erwähnt, hängt die Winkelverteilung des charakteristischen Photons nicht nur vom Winkel des Rekombinationsphotons, sondern auch stark von der Spin–Polarisation der einfallenden Teilchen ab. Damit eröffnet sich eine zweite Möglichkeit zur Messung der Polaristion des einfallenden Ionenstrahls bzw. der einfallenden Elektronen.

La gestión de información constituye un proceso fundamental en el desarrollo de la sociedad, y la documentación educativa constituye un pilar fundamental en este contexto. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo fundamental el fundamentar el impacto directo que tiene la gestión de la semántica sobre: 1) la organización de la documentación educativa, 2) las facilidades de recuperación de información al utilizar sistemas más inteligentes de búsquedas de información basados en la semántica, además del 3) soporte a las herramientas de integración entre diferentes servicios. En este artículo se muestran los resultados alcanzados en el ámbito de Educative, proyecto de gestión integral de documentación educativa en el ámbito universitario en pos de una enseñanza universitaria más integral en el contexto cubano.
