Perinteisesti elämäkertoja on kirjoitettu sankareista, suurmiehistä tai jollakin tapaa erityislaatuisina pidetyistä henkilöistä. Bertrand Russell, Ludwig Wittgenstein ja Georg Henrik von Wright täyttävät suuren ajattelijan kriteerit. Tämän tutkimuksen lähtökohta on, ettei suuren ajattelijan asemaa voi saavuttaa ilman yhteisön hyväksyvää arviota. Usein sankariaseman tai jopa neron maineen saavuttaneiden menestyksen taustalla on auttajia, kollegoita, oppi-isiä, sopiva työtilaisuus, joskus jopa maailmanpoliittinen tilanne. Keitä tai mitä ovat nämä muut, usein vähälle huomiolle jääneet, menestystekijät kolmen filosofin urapoluilla? Tässä tutkimuksessa menestyksen osatekijöitä etsitään filosofien elämä- ja omaelämäkerroista kahden työtä varten konstruoidun käsitteellisen lähestymistavan avulla. Niistä ensimmäinen nojaa pääosin ranskalaisen sosiologin Pierre Bourdieun ajatuksiin habituksesta, kentästä ja kentällä tarvittavista pääomista yhdistettynä amerikkalaisen pragmatistifilosofin John Deweyn habit-käsitteeseen. Toinen lähestymistapa soveltaa ranskalaisen tieteensosiologin Bruno Latourin toimijaverkkoteoriaa. Paitsi metodologista hyötyä, lähestymistapojen vertailun tarkoitus on tuottaa apuvälineitä elämäkertojen analysoijille, lukijoille ja miksei myös niiden kirjoittajille.

Giorgio Agamben and Ludwig Wittgenstein seem to have very little in common: the former is concerned with traditional ontological issues while the latter was interested in logics and ordinary language, avoiding metaphysical issues as something we cannot speak about. However, both share a crucial notion for their philosophical projects: form of life. In this paper, I try to show that, despite their different approaches and goals, form of life is for both a crucial notion for thinking ethics and life in-common. Addressing human existence in its constitutive relation to language, this notion deconstructs traditional dichotomies like bios and zoé, the cultural and the biological, enabling both authors to think of a life which cannot be separated from its forms, recognizing the commonality of logos as the specific trait of human existence. Through an analogical reading between both theoretical frameworks, I suggest that the notion of form-of-life, elaborated by Wittgenstein to address human production of meaning, becomes the key notion in Agamben's affirmative thinking since it enables us to consider the common ontologically in its relation to Human potentialities and to foresee a new, common use of the world and ourselves.

The dialogue between philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein s notions and Pierre Bourdieu s sociological concepts related to social practice of language shows that the philosophy of language has an important influence on contemporary social theory. When we compare the ideas of these authors we discover that beyond the direct influences from the philosopher that the sociologist recognizes there are great parallelisms of thought. That is, Wittgenstein s pragmatic thought of the use of language does not concern only language, but also every socially built behavior. When we notice that the social and linguistic behavior are borne by the individual in a tacit way, that leads us to theorize about the prereflective dimension that builds human actions and even the habits of thought. The same processes allow the uses of language to build wider social practices. Besides, John Austin, one of Wittgenstein s disciples, and his speech acts theory, contribute with a way to reflecting on how language ressembles a concrete action. Finally, the linguistc therapy that Wittgenstein means to be his philosophical proposal is assimilated by Bourdieu, who takes it as one of the necessary topics of the sociological work

This paper brings notes regarding Wittgenstein’s philosophy of language and its presence in habermasian philosophy by means of the basic concept language game. The approach of language of the second Wittgenstein reaches a rather culturalist abstraction, which, however, disclaims him of the pretension of being a theoretical of language, but in Habermas, this approach is put with an intention: the systematization of the universal pragmatics, which he presents as a theory of language games.

The object of this essay is to discuss Ludwig Wittgenstein's remarks in Philosophical Investigations and elsewhere in the posthumously published writings concerning the role of therapy in relation to philosophy. Wittgenstein's reflections seem to suggest that there is a kind of philosophy or mode of investigation targeting the philosophical grammar of language uses that gratuitously give rise to philosophical problems, and produce in many thinkers philosophical anxieties for which the proper therapy is intended to offer relief. Two possible objectives of later Wittgensteinian therapy are proposed, for subjective psychological versus objective semantic symptoms of ailments that a therapy might address for the sake of relieving philosophical anxieties. The psychological in its most plausible form is rejected, leaving only the semantic. Semantic therapy in the sense defined and developed is more general and long-lasting, and more in the spirit of Wittgenstein's project on a variety of levels. A semantic approach treats language rather than the thinking, language-using subject as the patient needing therapy, and directs its attention to the treatment of problems in language and the conceptual framework a language game use expresses in its philosophical grammar, rather than to soothing unhappy or socially ill-adjusted individual psychologies.
