Avaliação dos modelos de predição de propagação para telefonia móvel celular na cidade do Natal

The development of wireless telecommunication in the last years has been great. It has been taking academics to conceive new ideas and techniques. Their aims are to increase the capacity and the quality of the system s services. Cells that are smaller every time, frequencies that are every time higher and environments that get more and more complex, all those facts deserve more accurate models the propagation prediction techniques are inserted in this context and results with a merger of error that is compatible with the next generations of communication systems. The objective of this Work is to present results of a propagation measurement campaign, aiming at pointing the characteristics of the mobile systems covering in the city of Natal (state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil). A mobile laboratory was set up, using the infra-structure available and frequently used by ANATEL. The measures were taken in three different areas: one characterized by high buildings, high relief, presence of trees and towers of different highs. These areas covered the city s central zone, a suburban / rural zone and a section of coast surrounded by sand dunes. It is important to highlight that the analysis was made taking into consideration the actual reality of cellular systems with covering ranges by reduced cells, with the intent of causing greater re-use of frequencies and greater capacity of telephone traffic. The predominance of telephone traffic by cell in the city of Natal occurs within a range inferior to 3 (three) km from the Radio-Base Station. The frequency band used was 800 MHz, corresponding to the control channels of the respective sites, which adopt the FSK modulation technique. This Dissertation starts by presenting a general vision of the models used for predicting propagation. Then, there is a description of the methodology used in the measuring, which were done using the same channels of control of the cellular system. The results obtained were compared with many existing prediction models, and some adaptations were developed by using regression techniques trying to obtain the most optimized solutions. Furthermore, according to regulations from the old Brazilian Holding Telebrás, a minimum covering of 90% of a determined previously area, in 90% of the time, must be obeyed when implanting cellular systems. For such value to be reached, considerations and studies involving the specific environment that is being covered are important. The objective of this work is contribute to this aspect

Redes, território e competitividade: a estratégia das empresas de telefonia celular no Estado do Pará

Neste trabalho investigamos as territorialidades das empresas de telefonia móvel celular que operam no Estado do Pará (Vivo, Tim, Amazônia Celular e Oi). Para atingir esse objetivo, fazemos uso de um caminho teórico que aborda duas categorias analíticas: a rede e o território, que são permeados por outros dois conceitos derivados: a territorialidade e o que denominamos circuitos de poder. Utilizamos como corpus os dados obtidos junto as operadoras de telefonia móvel e os dados oficiais da Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL), com destaque ao cadastro nacional de Estações Radiobase (2007). A metodologia utilizada consiste no levantamento de dados secundários, seguido da elaboração de mapas, gráficos e quadros com base no estado do Pará. Esses instrumentos são analisados com intuito de definir o cenário da competição, os circuitos de poder e as áreas privilegiadas. Verificamos que as empresas de telefonia móvel utilizam o território como segmento de mercado, equiparando o cidadão à figura do consumidor. As operadoras selecionam suas áreas de atuação através de critérios eminentemente econômicos, privilegiando as áreas de maior atrativo para a acumulação da capitais e, também, as localidades geridas por grandes grupos econômicos, como a Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVDR).

Projeto de telefonia celular GSM baseada em open source e open hardware para comunidades rurais isoladas e carentes na região amazônica: estudo de caso em Itabocal – Irituia – Pará

Este trabalho teve como proposta realizar pesquisa das tecnologias existentes para telefonia e integração das mesmas para concepção de um sistema inovador e projetado para a realidade Amazônida. O trabalho incluiu avaliar a implementação de um sistema GSM open source / open hardware de custo zero para a população (telefonia celular gratuita) em comunidades rurais na Amazônia, com enfoque nas comunidades isoladas e carentes onde geralmente não há cobertura celular de operadoras comerciais, devido a falta de estímulo do governo e/ou interesse comercial de prover telefonia para essas populações mais pobres.

This paper presents a study based on bibliographic research on LTE technology, chosen for the fourth generation of mobile phones, and the current status of implementation of 4G network in Brazil. The change in user behavior, which now uses data over the voice services, requires transmission networks to be increasingly robust and fast to enable the viewing of videos and use of other platforms that require internet connection. The retrospective of the development of mobile technologies, from 1G up to 4G that is currently used, shows the long road until it came to appliances and how the phone is used nowadays. Finally, the popularity of smartphones and hence the growing number of people with access to 4G networks, demanded new researchs for the development of future generations technologies in order to achieve the demand for speed enabling significant changes in user experience
